Google is burying the campaign websites of its fiercest critics on Capitol Hill.
Shortly after MRC Free Speech America released its study showing that Google suppressed Senate Republicans’ campaign websites in its search results, it now appears that Google is hitting members of both the House and Senate who have been critical of Google’s tactics. This is happening just as the country is gearing up to vote during the midterm elections on Nov. 8.

OTTAWA—Portraying themselves as honest brokers of a righteous cause, prominent “Freedom Convoy” figures distanced themselves from more controversial elements of their protest movement at the Emergencies Act inquiry Wednesday, before an outburst from an angry supporter interrupted the proceedings.
Over several hours of testimony, convoy leader Tom Marazzo dismissed concerns about a suspected extremist group that participated in last winter’s demonstrations, and joined Keith Wilson — a lawyer for some organizers who also testified Wednesday — in describing a notorious demand from an original group of protesters to unseat the elected federal government as “nonsense.”

CBC News is shutting down its Beijing news bureau after a more-than-40-year presence in China, saying it was forced to take the step after officials have ignored repeated requests for a journalist work visa.
