Media Spin on Gun Control Doesn’t Match Voters’ Opinions

Red flag laws are the top priority of Democrats and gun control advocates. Polls show that Americans overwhelmingly support these measures—by margins ranging between 2-1 and 3-1. Congress recently passed legislation providing funding for states that adopted these laws.

But the polling doesn’t really gauge whether Americans understand how these laws operate. The surveys generally just ask people if they support laws that “allow guns to be temporarily confiscated by a judge from people considered by a judge to be a danger to themselves or others.”

Federal Judge Declares Mandated Workplace Pronouns, Unisex Bathrooms Unlawful

A federal judge in Texas has issued a ruling that prevents federal mandates from imposing pronouns and unisex bathrooms on employers.

In State of Texas v Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Matthew Kacsmaryk, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Texas in Amarillo, declared the March 2, 2021 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Civil Rights Guidance and June 15, 2021 EEOC guidance unlawful. However, the court stopped short of granting the state’s request for injunctive relief.

U.S. Presidents Refuse to Protect the U.S. from North Korea’s Nukes

North Korea launched an intermediate-range ballistic missile on October 4 over Japan. The Hwasong-12 traveled farther downrange than any other of Pyongyang’s missiles. Setting a record pace, the test was the North’s 23rd of the year. Two days later, it fired off two short-range missiles.

The Biden administration has done little to stop the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), so that regime is likely to engage in even more provocative behavior soon.

The U.S., in response to the launch, asked for an emergency United Nations Security Council meeting, which was held on October 5th. As expected, nothing came of the session. China and Russia, blaming the United States for the North Korean launches, blocked any tightening of sanctions.

Liberal Media Spin Rising Violent Crime as Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy

Violent crime remains intolerably high, but the left wants you to think that perception is just a concoction of right-wing media.

After more than a decade of violent crime decreases with just a few interludes, crime has shot back up to levels not seen since the early 1990s.

When the left acknowledges this fact, it often does so by tying the violent crime increase to the sale of guns. However, there’s no evidence that the additional crimes are being committed by law-abiding gun owners.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center suspends transgender operations for kids – after video emerged of doctor boasting that surgeries are ‘huge money makers’

Dr. Shayne Taylor – proponent of sexually mutilating children for fun and profit

The prestigious Vanderbilt University has suspended gender altering surgeries at its medical center after outrage over claims the hospital ‘chemically castrates’ minors for financial gain.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center [VUMC] confirmed it was freezing all ‘gender affirmation surgery’ on underage patients pending a review of their processes, in response to calls from Tennessee lawmaker to investigate the hospital.

VUMC came under fire last month after conservative activist Matt Walsh released a 2018 video showing Dr. Shayne Taylor – an LGBTQ specialist at the hospital – touting transgender surgeries as ‘huge money makers’ for the hospital.

I hope we have a Nuremburg style trial for these monsters.

Why didn’t Canada designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization?

When the Trudeau government imposed sanctions earlier this month against a handful of Iranian individuals and entities for gross human rights violations such as the killing of Mahsa Amini, there was great concern that this represented the summation of the federal response to Iran’s egregious behaviour.

… Was this to deprive Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, who has been championing this measure in recent days in the House of Commons, of a win? Why not truly use all the tools at the government’s disposal?

Tourists are showing up to monuments for late-night photos, only to find somber silhouettes. Even the Eiffel Tower, symbol of France’s rise as an industrialized nation, is hitting the off switch early.

New life for Musk-Twitter deal raises the Trump question

Elon Musk’s renewed interest in purchasing Twitter is again raising the prospect that its most famously banned user could be allowed back.

Former President Trump has been adamant that he will stick with Truth Social, the fledgling social media platform he helped found, regardless of whether he is welcomed back to Twitter. But experts and Trump allies believe the allure of the massive Twitter audience would be too great to resist, putting his future there front and center as the Musk deal shows new signs of life.

We all hope Musk is a savior but he has some very iffy ties to the CCP and I wonder if he hopes good PR will mitigate these serious concerns in the public eye.

As we mark Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we can consider how science as an institution has the same duty to participate in reconciliation as the rest of society does.

For science, reconciliation can mean, among others things, acknowledging the history of racism and exploitation of Indigenous people and their lands that science perpetuated. But another important part is understanding and incorporating Indigenous perspectives in research.

Trans row mother-of-five Caroline Farrow recounts her ordeal at the hands of the Twitter police

Caroline Farrow, a mother of five, despairs of the petty crime and anti-social behaviour afflicting her Surrey village. Youths vandalising the bus stop, shoplifting, taking pot shots at windows with catapults, keying cars.

But try getting the police to act, says Mrs Farrow, a 48-year-old priest’s wife and Catholic commentator, and your entreaty will invariably fall on deaf ears. When teenagers refused to climb down from the roof of a convenience store, police said it was a ‘civil matter’, refusing to get involved.

Still, there was a rare sighting of a patrol car in the village at around 4.45pm last Monday. Blue lights flashing, it sped not towards the latest vandalism scene but the Farrow household. Officers hammered on the door, barged inside and told Mrs Farrow she was under arrest.

LYONS, N.Y. — Robert Milby, Wayne County’s new sheriff, has been in law enforcement most of his adult life, earning praise and promotions for conscientious service. But recently, Sheriff Milby has attracted attention for a different approach to the law: ignoring it.

Sheriff Milby is among at least a half-dozen sheriffs in upstate New York who have said they have no intention of aggressively enforcing gun regulations that state lawmakers passed last summer, forbidding concealed weapons in so-called sensitive areas — a long list of public spaces including, but not limited to, government buildings and religious centers, health facilities and homeless shelters, schools and subways, stadiums and state parks, and, of course, Times Square.
