The War Zone has received a highly significant new set of documents from the U.S. Navy via the Freedom of Information Act about a series of enigmatic drone swarm events that occurred in the waters off Southern California in 2019. These incidents have come to be woven into an ongoing discussion about unidentified aerial phenomena, traditionally known as UFOs. In previous weeks, top defense officials told Congress that the 2019 swarm incidents were caused by drones. These new documents leave little doubt in that regard.

The documents include unprecedentedly detailed briefing materials and photographs from more than a half dozen incidents. Among these new incidents are previously unknown events that occurred in the early months of 2019 and were assessed by the Navy to involve intelligence collection operations. The new photographs also include images of drones apparently operating from an unresponsive civilian ship that was shadowing Navy vessels.

Oh, maybe the words Mendicino spoke in front of Parliamentary committees don’t meet the precise, legal definition of misleading the House and Senate. Maybe they don’t rise to the level required to expel him.

Potent cannabis strain ‘causing psychosis time bomb’ in US

The mass legalisation of cannabis has led to a mental health “time bomb” in the United States and scientists are warning that stronger strains are driving psychosis among young people.

Rules were relaxed a decade ago in the states of Washington and Colorado while voters in California chose to legalise recreational marijuana use in 2016. In total 47 states and Washington DC have softened their laws on cannabis in some form.

Supporters of these policies point to the billions of dollars in tax revenue state’s can make each year from regulating the drug, and argue that criminalising cannabis disproportionately harms black communities.

Joe Louis Esquivel charged in deadly mass shooting at Maryland factory as new details emerge

A Maryland factory worker accused of killing three coworkers and injuring two other people in a Thursday shooting was charged with dozens of felonies, including murder, authorities said Friday.

Joe Louis Esquivel, 23, of Hedgesville, WV, was hit with a slew of murder, attempted murder, assault and weapons charges in connection with the Smithsburg massacre, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

He was behind bars with no bond Friday night, officials said.

Motorists left stranded on the road as soaring gas prices run tanks on empty

TORONTO – As many motorists fill their tanks in increments in an effort to save on gas, some are being left stranded or forced to abandon their vehicles as soaring gas prices leave their wallets and tanks empty.

Paula Guitar, who was on her way to Newmarket, Ont. to care for her ill mother, told CTV News that she ran out of gas in the middle of her drive. Guitar ended up using her actual guitar to busk for enough funds to get to her destination.

“A lot of people are driving on $20 worth of gas,” Brian Patterson, the president of the Ontario Safety League, told CTV News. “When they run out of gas … you can imagine today on the 400 somebody runs out of gas in the middle lane.”

The decision to prosecute a recent attack on a Mississauga mosque as a terrorism offence is an unusual step that may be difficult to prove in court, terrorism experts say.

Proving that 24-year-old Mohammad Moiz Omar committed a terror offence when he allegedly attacked worshippers at the Dar Al-Tawheed Islamic Centre earlier this year will require prosecutors to argue a complex and “rarely used” clause in the Criminal Code. That clause, which has been in place since 2001, “essentially requires proof of a political or religious motive and attempts to intimidate a population,” said Kent Roach, a University of Toronto law professor and policing expert.
