The War of the Zombie Empires

When people speak of “escalating the war in Ukraine,” they commonly refer to the possibility of a nuclear conflict between the West and Russia. But there is another sense in which the present conflict can grow: it can enlarge in scope through the participation of new great power alliances formed to exploit the changed conditions. The collapse of Russia as a great power has kicked off a frenzy of adjustment among other global players.

Conservative leadership candidate Pierre Poilievre denounces ‘white replacement theory’

OTTAWA – Pierre Poilievre is denouncing the “white replacement theory” believed to be a motive for a mass shooting in Buffalo, N.Y., as “ugly and disgusting hate-mongering.”

In a statement provided to The Canadian Press, the high-profile contender for the Conservative party leadership condemned the attack, in which police say a white gunman shot up a supermarket in a majority black neighbourhood, killing 10 people and wounding three others.

I don’t recall that he ever endorsed it. Hope they ask Junior to do the same.

Turkey objects as Sweden, Finland seek NATO membership

STOCKHOLM (AP) — Sweden on Monday decided to join neighboring Finland in seeking NATO membership, ending more than two centuries of military nonalignment in a historic shift prompted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The move drew strong objections from Turkey, a key NATO member who declared the two nations should not be allowed to join because they have been too lax in taking action against Kurdish militants. Countries can only join NATO if all current members agree.

How prejudice rooted in an ancient social system has migrated from India to Canada

When Gurpreet Singh packed his bags last fall and arrived in Ontario from India, he soon learned there was one thing some fellow Indians in Canada hadn’t left behind in their home country — their prejudices.

The human resource management student at Durham College in Oshawa, Ont., said he is viewed as an outcast in the ancient South Asian social structure known as the caste system, but faces more discrimination from Indians in Canada than he did in India.

“I have been here for roughly five months and I have faced it in a way more aggressive or aggravated form in this country from my own Punjabi community,” Singh said. “They beat their chest with pride that they come from this caste or that caste.”

Clearly they have internalized the white man’s racism.

JK Rowling praises feminist who ‘never dropped her flag’ as she stood up to masked trans activist thugs

This is the extraordinary moment a lone woman waving a purple, white and green Suffragette flag was ‘manhandled’ by a gang of masked trans activists.

The unnamed woman supporting the campaign group Standing For Women (SFW) was assaulted during a counter-protest by the Manchester Trans Rise Up (MTRU) movement next to the city’s statue of Emmeline Pankhurst in St Peter’s Square.

The two groups clashed after the trans activists arrived to disrupt SFW’s speaking event in front of the statue as part of an event which said it aimed to reclaim ‘a part of Manchester for women’s voices’.

Commerce Cronyism: Inside Deals, Conflicts of Interest and Chinese Connections

The US Department of Commerce seldom grabs headlines or congressional scrutiny. It does not become “weaponized” against political opponents of the incumbent party. After the 2016 election, an article on Vox about incoming power-players of the Trump administration dismissed the department as a “hodgepodge of agencies,” and a “Cabinet backwater.”

Lawyer Facing BC Law Society’s Discipline in Transgender Teen Case Denied Open Proceedings

The Law Society of British Columbia Tribunal has ruled that the proceedings against one of the society’s lawyers will be closed to the public, contrary to the lawyer’s wishes and despite the fact that the society’s hearings are normally open to the public and media.

Tribunal adjudicator Lindsay LeBlanc issued the ruling on May 13, a day after the tribunal held a pre-hearing meeting at which the Law Society of B.C. applied to have the May 16–18 hearing against Vancouver lawyer Carey Linde shielded from public view.

Model Solar-Powered Village Fell Apart In Just A Few Years, Like Many Greenpeace Projects

Eco-activist group Greenpeace brought solar power to Dharnai, India, in 2014, constructing a green micro-grid it said would make the tiny village “energy independent” and a model for the rest of the country to follow.

Eight years later, reports indicate the solar micro-grid is not only defunct, but being used as a cattle shed. The Dharnai venture is only one of many failed attempts by environmental groups, like Greenpeace, to “green” the developing world, according to one of its co-founders.

Trudeau the idiot fantasist is perpetrating this same nonsense on a national scale in Canada.
