The city raised the issues with Proterra, which failed to adequately address the city’s concerns.

As part of this year’s Tolpuddle Festival, a rally organised by Stand Up to Racism, Dorset, at the gates of the Drax family estate highlighted the family’s historic role in slavery. The festival celebrates the Tolpuddle Martyrs, poorly paid farm workers, who were transported in 1834 for organising trade union activities.

On Sunday July 18, the Church of England service will include a ceremony of “symbolic repentance” to mark the 800-year anniversary of the Synod of Oxford. The 1222 Synod set forth discriminatory laws for Jews, such as identifying badges and higher taxes. The gesture is especially significant in that the Church of England was only established in 1534. The Church is therefore apologizing for all Christian medieval anti-Semitism.

Ontario Power Generation plans to make a decision this year that might determine the future of Canada’s nuclear industry.
The utility, by far Canada’s largest nuclear power producer, promises to select a design for a 300-megawatt reactor it proposes to build at its Darlington Nuclear Generating Station by 2028. The estimated price tag: up to $3-billion. It would be the first new reactor built on Canadian soil in well over three decades. OPG won’t make that decision alone, because it’s intended to be the first of many reactors of the same design built across the country.
Cue the Howling Eco-Luddites. I doubt a single SMR will be built. Eco-Impact reviews, years of litigation and protests, spiraling costs etc will ensure we freeze in the dark.
