The “We-Must-Hate-Israel” Season Re-Opens in Turkey

Each time the Arab-Israel dispute turns violent on Israeli soil, Turks immediately return to their post-truth mode. One newspaper headline proudly says that Palestinian fighters shot 137 rockets into Israel within five minutes. The next headline says Israel is a state of terror because it reciprocated to attacks against its citizens.

“This is how al-Qassam Brigade hit a lifeline oil plant in Ashkelon-Eilat,” one headline said. “Hamas hits, Zionists are burning,” was another. “Rockets shock Zionists.” “Tel Aviv turns into hell: Get worse, bastards!” “Zionists are fleeing Hamas rockets.” And, according to Hamas’ leader Ismail Haniyeh, Gaza militants “have defended Jerusalem.” There are more.

How President Biden Emboldened Hamas, Islamic Jihad

A number of decisions taken by the Biden administration — who were handed peace in the Middle East, US energy independencesecure borders, the blueprint for a booming economy, and American adversaries such as China, Russia and Iran on the defensive — have managed, in four short months, to blow most of that up.

Some of these decisions have apparently emboldened Iran and a number of its terrorist proxies.

First was the decision to revoke the designation of the Iranian-backed Houthi group in Yemen as a foreign terrorist organization.

Under deadly attack French police demand better protection

Gaza or French police station? Ans. Police Station!

Police officers gathered outside France’s National Assembly make for a powerful image: the proximity of security and politics, made real on the banks of the Seine.

Often criticised for overly aggressive tactics during protests, French police come here on Wednesday as protesters themselves, calling for a tougher response to the aggression security forces face.

Within the past month, a policeman was killed during an anti-drugs operation, and a policewoman was stabbed to death in a targeted attack. “It was the straw that broke the camel’s back,” said Stanislas Gaudon, head of the Alliance police union. “It was something we were afraid of, almost expecting.”

John Robson: What part of ‘Death to Jews’ do Israel’s critics not understand?

Here we go again, in that dreary cycle where a barrage of Hamas rockets at Israeli civilians causes a barrage of media rhetoric against Israel. What part of “Death to Jews” do they not understand?

Seriously. Most Western media outlets misrepresent the conflict in ways that can only strengthen the hand of those bent on wiping the Jewish state and its inhabitants off the map. From headlines like “Israel pounds Gaza with heavy strikes as conflict enters second week” to sneering insinuations that Biden is retrograde in backing Israel, the press scrupulously avoids noting that the violence began with Hamas and will end, as Golda Meir reputedly said, “when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.”

Extreme green ‘keep it in the ground’ movement seizes on IEA warning

The International Energy Agency’s stark position that new oil and gas development must immediately stop to meet global climate goals could boost momentum for governments to restrict fossil fuel production and cause investors to cut off funding for such projects.

“This will strengthen the political argument in many countries for restricting the growth of new oil production,” Bob McNally, president of Rapidan Energy Group and former oil official in the George W. Bush administration, told the Washington Examiner. “It’s going to raise the regulatory risk and scrutiny on oil companies and investors that plan to develop new oil fields.”
