Varcoe: Keystone XL is shot down, and the target turns to other pipelines

On his first day as president, Joe Biden pulled the pin on Keystone XL.

The political fallout reverberated on both sides of the border, as pipeline opponents set their sights on other infrastructure that transports Canadian oil into the United States, such as Enbridge’s Line 3 replacement project.

Go ahead Libs, just keep repeating “Orange Man Bad”.

Ex-ADT employee admits hacking into 200-plus live cameras, spying on naked women and couples having sex

A former ADT employee admitted Thursday that he hacked into the video feeds of more than 200 Texas customers to spy on naked women and couples having sex inside their homes.

Telesforo Aviles, 35, logged into customers’ accounts more than 9,600 times over a four-year period “in order to view their footage for sexual gratification,” he admitted in federal court.

“This defendant, entrusted with safeguarding customers’ homes, instead intruded on their most intimate moments,” Acting U.S. Attorney Prerak Shah said in a statement.

One thing is certain. Our government would never stoop to such low measures!

Twitter’s selectively elastic TOS: Iran tweets threat to President Trump – Jack takes time suspending account… a long time

Twitter’s selectively elastic TOS: Iran tweets threat to President Trump – Jack takes time suspending account… a long time

A Twitter account bearing the name of Iran leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was suspended on Friday — 17 hours after tweeting a death threat to former President Donald Trump vowing “revenge” over the killing of top Gen. Qassem Soleimani.

The tweet from bogus Khamenei account @khamenei_site on Thursday depicted the likeness of Trump on the golf course being targeted by a drone flying overhead.

“Revenge is inevitable,” says the tweet, translated from Farsi.

Oh yea. I forgot. Orange man bad!

It struck me as odd that an American stealth bomber was used as the vengeance weapon of choice, then I remembered the Biden administration is now in power.

Premiers tell Trudeau they ‘want to go to war’ with U.S. over Keystone XL: sources

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faced anger from some of Canada’s premiers Thursday over U.S. President Joe Biden’s decision to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline project — including heated calls for punishment that could fracture ties between the two allies.

The First Ministers call, which lasted just over an hour, also touched on the coronavirus pandemic and issues with the nationwide vaccine rollout, sources told Global News. But Canada-U.S. relations in the wake of Biden’s controversial move dominated the discussion.

Goldstein was denied a rebuttal: Democrats demand Facebook, Twitter & YouTube change algorithms to stop ‘polluting minds of American people’

Democrats in the US Congress have urged major social media platforms to eliminate algorithms and recommendations that breed extremism and undermine the sense of “objective reality.”
Representatives Anna Eshoo and Tom Malinowski wrote letters demanding change to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. A similar letter was sent to the CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai, and Susan Wojcicki, the CEO of YouTube, which is owned by Google.

You mean they could be even more biased & discriminatory?

3 wise monkeys exposed as racists!

That’s bananas! University of York academics ‘cancel’ the three wise monkeys after deciding the centuries-old characters are an oppressive racial stereotype

They’re a cultural trope that have been used to symbolise the proverbial ‘see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil’.

But it appears the three wise monkeys have been cancelled after academics at the University of York decided they are an oppressive racial stereotype.

‘Sick, sad and hateful’: Media fawns over Jill Biden for bringing fashion ‘back’ to the White House

With President Joe Biden’s inauguration came a whirlwind of some of the most stunning sycophancy seen in four years, with “journalists” hopping over themselves to lavish both him and first lady Jill Biden with massive unearned praise.

Of all the praise doled out, perhaps most jarring was the media’s insistence that Jill has suddenly brought so-called “fashion” back to the White House. What makes this position untenable is the fact that her predecessor was an actual fashion model.

Twitter locks account of China’s U.S. embassy over its defense of Xinjiang policy

SHANGHAI (Reuters) – Twitter has locked the account of China’s U.S. embassy for a tweet that defended China’s policy towards Muslim Uighurs in Xinjiang, which the U.S. social media platform said violated its stand against “dehumanizing” people.

Twitter is full of it, this is performative bullshit. Note it’s only locked not terminated.

Trump’s greatest legacy: The GOP now represents America’s workers

Joe Biden is now president, and Democrats are in charge. Here’s big news: This is not your grandfather’s Democratic Party.

The most important and least acknowledged part of President Trump’s legacy is that he has presided over a fundamental realignment of our two great political parties. Had Trump won another four years in the Oval Office, the shift would have been more visible and the impact on the country even more profound.

Fox News Purge Begins

As ratings tank amid hostile coverage of former President Donald Trump, Fox News is purging its newsroom in an attempt to salvage the network’s fading brand. Political editor Chris Stirewalt, a NeverTrumper, and several digital editors were fired Tuesday; on Election Night, Stirewalt defended the network’s decision to call Arizona for Joe Biden, a move that infuriated the president and Fox News viewers.

Slouching Toward Post-Journalism

The New York Times and other elite media outlets have openly embraced advocacy over reporting.

Traditional newspapers never sold news; they sold an audience to advertisers. To a considerable degree, this commercial imperative determined the journalistic style, with its impersonal voice and pretense of objectivity. The aim was to herd the audience into a passive consumerist mass. Opinion, which divided readers, was treated like a volatile substance and fenced off from “factual” reporting.
