THE HORROR! Church holds ‘influence’ over Ontario community that voted down Pride flags, locals say

On a recent weekday afternoon, the main street in Norwich Township was bustling with people chatting at the local cafe, eating at the deli, or browsing through shops.

But residents say all that changes on Sundays, when the community in southwestern Ontario largely closes for the Christian day of rest, clinging to a practice generally abandoned across the province since the early 1990s when the government scrapped mandatory Sunday closures.

The New Ugly Americans

How odd that those on the Left who in the past decried “American imperialism” are now proving the greatest imperialists of all.

The old cultural imperialism was supposedly greedy corporatism like Disneyland, McDonald’s, and Starbucks sprouting up worldwide to supplant local competitors.

But these businesses spread because they appealed to free-will consumer demand abroad. They were not imposed top down.

The U.S. presence in Afghanistan collapsed in August 2021 amid the greatest American military humiliation in modern history. A billion-dollar new embassy was abandoned. Hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of new infrastructure at the huge Bagram Airbase was dumped.

Pride committee to file human rights complaint after Norwich, Ont. bans flags on civic property

The president of a Pride committee is filing a human rights complaint after the Township of Norwich passed a motion to ban non-government flags, including Pride flags, on municipal properties.

The controversial debate in the rural southwestern Ontario community located east of London drew in large opposing crowds from across Oxford County to council’s meeting chambers Tuesday night. Amid growing boos from the public gallery, council voted 3-2 to approve the flag ban, with Mayor Jim Palmer breaking the tie.

No one has the right to dictate that you raise a flag glorifying the sexual mutilation of children.

York Catholic Schoolboard On Verge Of Winning Coveted ‘Unsafe for the LGBTQ2IA+ Community’ Designation

Pflag warns it could designate Catholic school board ‘Unsafe for the LGBTQ2IA+ Community of York Region’

York Regional Police were once again called to a York Catholic District School Board meeting as part of an ongoing dispute involving members of the LGBTQ2IA+ community and its allies, who are pushing the board to raise the Pride flag.

Police received a call about a “disturbance” on the evening of April 25 at the board’s Aurora headquarters, Duty Insp. Marc Hilliker said.

“We were called to a disturbance there and by the time we got there, most had left,” he said.

I suspect that the real issue concerns efforts to influence the board by supporters of the perverted adult fetish that finds cruel delight in the sexual mutilation of mentally ill children but the Star has left that out.

Norwich, Ont., votes to exclude Pride flags on township property

The township of Norwich, Ont., has voted to exclude Pride flags from being flown on its property. Instead, the municipality has moved to only fly flags representing municipal, provincial and federal governments.

The bylaw was proposed by Coun. John Scholten at a Tuesday night council meeting. Scholten says he believes civic flags best represent all groups of people, and allow everyone to coexist in harmony, regardless of their identity or beliefs.

Power Play – The NHL goes woke.

On August 26, 2020, when the Milwaukee Bucks refused to play their game following the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the NHL was the lone professional sports league to go forward with its schedule. The following day, however, a newly formed group led by prominent black NHL players called the Hockey Diversity Alliance spearheaded the postponement of games for the next two nights. And in the aftermath of the incident, the NHL launched a series of initiatives designed to, as Morning Consult put it, “combat racism and make the traditionally white sport more inclusive.”

City attempts to quell LGBTQ+ community’s concern about future plan for Hanlan’s Point

The beach at Hanlan’s Point on the Toronto Islands has served as a gathering place for the city’s LGBTQ+ community for decades, but some are worried that could soon be at risk.

A dozen people recently formed a group called Hands Off Hanlan’s to sound the alarm about the city’s master plan for the islands — a long-term planning document that’s still under development. The plan is meant to guide decisions about the future of the area, which sees close to 1.5 million visitors per year.

MPs threatened me to force gay marriage on the church, says Archbishop of Canterbury

Justin Welby said he was summoned twice to Parliament and threatened with parliamentary action to force same-sex marriage on the Church

The Archbishop of Canterbury claims he was “threatened with parliamentary action” in an attempt to “force same-sex marriage” in the Church of England.

The Most Rev Justin Welby said that he was twice summoned to Parliament over the issue as he blamed rising secularism for triggering the historic debate on blessings for gay and lesbian couples.

He also warned that the church should not be “dictated to”, “blackmailed” or “bribed” over the issue.

Gay guy suing because he can’t donate sperm

A gay man is taking the federal government to court, challenging the constitutionality of a policy restricting gay and bisexual men from donating to sperm banks in Canada, CTV News has learned.

“[It’s] like you’re undesirable because of your gayness as a donor … It feels like such an arbitrary rule,” said Aziz M, the man who is pushing to change the rules. Out of concern for his privacy, CTV News has agreed not to use his full name.

Currently, a Health Canada directive prohibits gay and bisexual men from donating sperm to a sperm bank unless they’ve been abstinent for three months or are donating to someone they know.

I say let him donate, but also inform the recipient that the kid might be a real bitchy flamer like the complainant.

Is ‘Pride’ the Woke World Version of ‘the Mark of the Beast’?

For generations, we’ve seen people worry about some new technology becoming the “mark of the beast” from Revelation, but the truth is that Biblical prophecy is far more inscrutable than these armchair interpreters want to believe. So I suppose this paragraph should serve as a disclaimer: I’m not making any claims based on scripture; instead, I’m making a comparison between this prophecy and what we’re seeing from the left these days.

Progressive sports media and LGBT advocates condemn Ivan Provorov for declining participation in the NHL’s Pride Night.

On Tuesday, Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov declined to signify support for the National Hockey League’s “Pride Night” in support of LGBGT activism, citing his Russian Orthodox faith. Pride Night is part of the NHL’s “Hockey for Everyone” initiative, intended to use “the game of hockey—and the League’s global influence—to drive positive social change and foster more inclusive communities.”

Ivan Provorov’s Faithful Stand Exposes Anti-Religious Intolerance In The Name Of Tolerance

“Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven,” reads Christ’s eighth beatitude in the Gospel of Matthew. It is perhaps the beatitude most often viewed as a remnant of the ancient world among modern Americans, as persecution of the faithful has been remarkably absent in this country. Every now and then, though, a news story reminds us Christ’s proclamation is just as important as ever.
