We oppose President Biden’s lawless and authoritarian new mandates announced yesterday. We also denounce his divisive rhetoric toward unvaccinated Americans, his reckless antipathy for federalism, and his threats to usurp state governors.
Contra Mr. Biden, this is entirely about freedom and personal choice.
The Supreme Court last week rejected the idea that Congress gave the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention the power to stop landlords from evicting tenants who fail to pay their rent. Unfazed by that setback, the Biden administration this week suggested that the CDC has the power to demand that every public school in the country force students to wear face masks.
Both incidents show how readily President Joe Biden deploys dubious legal arguments to defend unprecedented power grabs in the name of fighting COVID-19. If successful, those arguments would undermine federalism, the rule of law and the separation of powers.
According to a new poll from Pew Research Center, two out of every three Democrats believes the government should actively crack down on “online misinformation,” even if doing so restricts traditionally protected First Amendment freedoms.

The CDC found authority for passing the order through a creative reading of the Public Health Service Act of 1944, which gives the CDC the power to halt disease by providing for “such inspection, fumigation, disinfection, sanitation, pest extermination, destruction of animals or articles found to be so infected or contaminated as to be sources of dangerous infection to human beings, and other measures.”
The CDC used the “other measures” standard to bridge the gap between acts like providing for “sanitation” and effectively seizing homes owned by landlords to allow people to live there for free.
The resort to “mandatory” measures by many governments around the world is, on the one hand, regarded as a power grab by publics who have seen once supposedly sacrosanct “rights” disappear one after the other, but it is also a sign of growing desperation among leaders who are no longer confident they can eradicate covid and return to “normal.” They are compensating for their powerlessness over nature by intensifying their power over men. The idea, born of frustration with the partial failure of previous and much-touted efforts, is that with enough control, the march to normalcy can be resumed.
The government could well end up unintentionally uniting groups it has spent decades playing against each other to increase federal power.

COVID-19 has shone a light on a fundamental divide within Canada: the growing government bureaucracy and those forced to pay for it.

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland said his new Justice Department is focusing on five American cities to tackle illegal gun trafficking. On Thursday, while in Chicago, the official announced he’s sending gun trafficking strike forces to the Democrat-led cities of Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco and Washington D.C.
They’re going to say guns used in crimes in Democrat run cities are supplied by GOP run areas and demand gun control there.
Big brother is watching and the blueprint for the totalitarian state is in full swing. As most media outlets continue to ignore the National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism, this strategy has been fully implemented to control what the government deems as misinformation. Between the censorship and controlling the narrative, the government has now embarked on the largest coordinated attempt to socially engineer society. This goes far beyond the differences between Democrats and Republicans. This is about controlling the masses and totalitarianism.
