49% believe Trudeau’s immigration plan will admit too many immigrants to Canada – Leger Poll

CANADIAN POLITICS: IMMIGRATION AND THE CARBON TAX

  • 49% of Canadians think the Government of Canada’s immigration plan will admit too many immigrants to Canada.
  • 75% of Canadians are concerned the immigration plan will result in excessive demand for housing and health and social services.
  • 77% of Canadians agree the carbon tax on gasoline, diesel and home heating fuels should be frozen until high inflation passes.

You can read the report here and the brief here.

This contradicts the bullshit polls put out by our scumbag corporate class suggesting Canadians just love the notion we need 100 million immigrants.

They lie because they are evil.

Canada faces ‘peril’ without action on alleged Chinese interference, experts warn

Any strong words Trudeau may mouth about China are to be taken with a very large grain of salt.

The “peril” Canada faces if it chooses not to act on allegations of Chinese foreign interference is “significant,” experts on China are warning.

The comment comes after Global News reported on Monday that Canadian intelligence officials warned Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that China has allegedly been targeting Canada with a vast campaign of foreign interference, which included funding a clandestine network of at least 11 federal candidates running in the 2019 election.

Canada’s China class tells Justin what to do, not the other way around.

Amazon, Canada’s largest user of low wage foreign labour, employs new ‘Sparrow’ robot to take warehouse worker jobs

Amazon’s new ‘Sparrow’ robot threatens to take warehouse worker jobs

Amazon unveiled its new ‘Sparrow’ sorting robot that could soon replace some human workers in its warehouses.

The robot is designed to identify and sort specific products along Amazon’s fulfillment line, a task that previously could only be done by humans.

“Sparrow is the first robotic system in our warehouses that can detect, select, and handle individual products in our inventory,” an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement alongside the product’s debut during Amazon’s Delivering The Future conference near Boston on Thursday.

Canada Has Become A Hotbed For Low-Wage Foreign Labour Under Trudeau … Amazon Biggest User

… But since Mr. Trudeau’s Liberals have come to power, the country has doubled down on its use of foreign labour. At the end of 2021, more than 775,000 people from abroad had temporary work permits, an increase of 92 per cent from 2015, and 600 per cent from 2000.

We should know which politicians got China’s money

Can we take a break from lecturing Americans about the state of their democracy and focus for a bit on problems with our own?

Canadians love to watch from a safe distance when all the horrors and glories of the American political system are on display, as they are this week as we comb through the results of their midterm elections.

We especially love to pat ourselves on the back for the fact that our system is, for the most part, mercifully free of the most extreme elements of U.S. politics. That’s mostly just good for our national self-regard, but it would be a shame if it distracts us from the disturbing possibility that a foreign power has been actively interfering in our own recent national elections, even changing the outcome in at least one case.

From the Star no less.

Rupa Subramanya: Liberals open the immigration floodgates, but will Canada and the newcomers benefit?

The boost to the economy that Immigration Minister Sean Fraser hopes will result from an influx of new immigrants is unlikely to materialize until quite a few years after they arrive, if that

On Nov. 1, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser revealed that Canada would begin admitting a record 500,000 new immigrants a year starting in 2025. It’s a bold plan, but it seems to have been done without giving much thought about how the new immigrants will fare once they get here, and whether high levels of immigration will benefit the Canadian economy, especially if we’re heading into a recession.

Ottawa warns of China’s growing threat in new Indo-Pacific strategy

Ottawa’s long-awaited Indo-Pacific strategy will call out China as an increasingly disruptive global power, in a reversal of the government’s previous policy of avoiding confrontation with the world’s second-largest economy.

Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly will outline the broad themes of the government’s new strategy in a major speech to be delivered in Toronto on Wednesday to the Asia Pacific Foundation and the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. An advance copy of the speech was provided exclusively to The Globe and Mail.

Canada has become a hotbed for low-wage foreign labour under Trudeau … Amazon biggest user

Just under a decade ago, the Temporary Foreign Worker program was reeling from a string of controversies – over unpaid wages, the displacement of Canadian workers and the exploitation of migrants.

Justin Trudeau, then the leader of a Liberal Party in third place, penned an op-ed in the Toronto Star in 2014 that outlined a fix for the program. For one, he said it needed “to be scaled back dramatically over time, and refocused on its original purpose: to fill jobs on a limited basis when no Canadian workers can be found.”

But since Mr. Trudeau’s Liberals have come to power, the country has doubled down on its use of foreign labour. At the end of 2021, more than 775,000 people from abroad had temporary work permits, an increase of 92 per cent from 2015, and 600 per cent from 2000.

Fucking evil bastards.

Liberals want you impoverished – working on policies to ensure carbon tax remains in place for years to come

The idea that releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere should cost money — known as carbon pricing — sits at the center of the federal Liberals’ plan to limit climate change, and now they’re working on policies to ensure that it remains in place in Canada for years to come.

Last month, Jonathan Wilkinson, minister of natural resources, told a crowd in downtown Toronto, that the federal Liberals plan to introduce a policy to ensure carbon pricing not only remains in place through at least 2030, but also ramps up during that time, from $50 per tonne to $170 per tonne.

Wilkinson made his comments during a question-and-answer session after a speech to the Canadian Club, saying that industry won’t invest billions of dollars to reduce their carbon emissions until they have “certainty” that carbon pricing won’t be abolished under a future leader.

CBC Propagandists: Lets put a happy face on Trudeau’s mass immigration scam

Canada’s plan for more immigrants aims to boost workforce, but experts say they’ll need support

A plan to welcome a record number of immigrants to Canada includes bringing in needed workers, but experts and employers say more could be done to help newcomers arrive and thrive in their new home.

… “If we don’t have immigration, our workforce will not grow,” said Anil Verma, professor emeritus of industrial relations and human resources management at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

According to the government’s fall economic statement, “Immigration is core to our identity as Canadians, while also being a key driver of Canada’s economic growth.”

Absolute bullshit. Propaganda designed to serve the corporate class who want as large a pool of wage slaves as possible. That’s what “growing our workforce” means.

Canada lags in productivity because a low dollar and depressed wages serve as subsidies to business. Automation is making its impact felt in many sectors. Justin remains intent on destroying the oil and gas sector despites Freeland’s “Friend shoring” Happy Talk. And the Bank of Canada has told corporate Canada to hold down wages – so they can fight inflation, on the backs of the poor. Are all these immigrants going to learn to code?

The number of Mexican asylum seekers in Canada has increased dramatically

MONTREAL – Canada has seen a spike in the number of Mexicans seeking asylum here this year, with the vast majority of them coming to Montreal. They say they are fleeing Mexico in search of jobs and safety, but statistics show most applicants from the country are rejected.

Ricardo Santos, 28, arrived at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport on Oct. 4. He says that although he did not know much about Canada, there was a direct flight to Montreal from Mexico City.

“I left because there is no work and there is a lot of violence,” Santos said in a recent interview outside a downtown YMCA, where he was staying while his refugee application was processed. “Mexico is becoming a more dangerous country.”

Loblaw tops big Canadian grocers in profit reports amid inflation surge: analysis

Canada’s top three grocers all posted higher profits this year compared with their average performances over the last five years, new research from Dalhousie University has found.

Critics have accused grocers of so-called greedflation, suggesting they are profiteering at a time when food prices are rising at the fastest rate in more than 40 years, and researchers say a lack of transparency in their financial results isn’t helping.

Free Bird: On Elon Musk and Twitter

In more than a decade on Twitter, Walter Kirn watched as the platform manipulated reality in real-time. Now? ‘Let the wild rumpus begin.’

Let me tell you about my strange time on Twitter, a so-called “social-media platform” of the early 21st century. In what I suspect is the increasing likelihood that digital records of our lives now will someday be erased, mislaid, or virtually composted in such a way as to make them irretrievable, the little story I’m about to tell may make little sense to future generations. It takes place during the period when the American establishment sought to control the flow of information in much the same way it once pursued dominion over resources such as land and oil.

This power grab caused a sort of virtual cold war, and I, as a consumer, a producer, and a conduit of information, got caught in it. Here is how the experience felt and how it went and a statement of what I hope will happen next, now that the purchase of Twitter by Elon Musk promises a better, freer day.

If you want to see media manipulation at work closer to home read the comments at CBC announcing Trudeau’s plan to flood the nation with 500K of immigrants a year. The majority are not in favour of Justin’s plan to sell us out to his corporate friends. The immigration announcement was timed for release after a story was planted in Canadian media outlets this week pushing the lie that Canadians are overwhelmingly in favour of mass immigration. We are governed by criminals.

Trudeau seeks to flood country with new goal of 500K immigrants per year … for your own good of course

The federal government is planning a massive increase in the number of immigrants entering Canada, with a goal of seeing 500,000 people arrive each year by 2025.

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser revealed the new targets Tuesday, saying the move is necessary to ensure Canada’s economic prosperity.

Canadian industries are facing a significant labour shortage, with about one million job vacancies across the country.

Who benefits?

Corporate Canada gets the depressed wages it wants.

Bank of Canada gets to fight inflation on the backs of the working class.

The rich will get richer off the contrived shortages citizens will face in everything from food to shelter.

Trudeau gets to play divide and conquer and hope a few votes come his way.

Be clear about this. Your country is being sold to corporate interests by the Trudeau government.

Food bank usage across Canada hit all-time high in March: report

The number of people using food banks across the country surged to an all-time high earlier this year, with high inflation and low social assistance rates cited as key factors in the rise, a new report from Food Banks Canada indicates.

The annual report released Thursday said there were nearly 1.5 million visits to food banks in March, a figure that was 15 per cent higher than the number of visits in the same month last year and 35 per cent higher than visits in March 2019, before the pandemic hit.

Bank of Canada raises rate by 50 basis points, predicts potential recession in the first half of 2023

OTTAWA – The Bank of Canada has raised its overnight rate to 3.75 per cent from 3.25 per cent. Since March, the central bank has increased its policy rate six times, aimed at tackling inflation and bringing it back to its 2 per cent target.

The bank predicts Canada could see a potential recession in the first half of 2023, according to its latest Monetary Policy Report.

“GDP growth is then projected to slow to between 0 per cent and 0.5 per cent through the end of 2022 and the first half of 2023,” reads the report. “This suggests that a couple of quarters with growth slightly below zero is just as likely as a couple of quarters with small positive growth.”

From the Star… Bank of Canada hits Canadians with growth-crushing hammer in latest interest rate hike

So let’s get this straight.

The economy has ground to a halt, and Bank of Canada governor Tiff Macklem is raising rates anyway —and quite aggressively.

The central bank released its new projections for the Canadian economy on Wednesday morning, and while it didn’t quite call “recession,” the new numbers for economic activity have been revised down to show basically no growth right now and in the near future.

You will pay and pay and pay for Justin’s policy choices not Justin’s cronies.
