Denmark, Norway and Iceland have said they are temporarily suspending inoculations with the AstraZeneca vaccine as a precautionary measure, after blood clots formed in several people who had received the jab.
Italy’s national medicines authority also said it was banning the use of one batch of the AstraZeneca shot after being notified of “some serious adverse effects”, but stressed the move was precautionary and no link had yet been established with the vaccine.
This is the same crap Ontario is rolling out via pharmacies. I qualify in the age group targeted but have a lot of doubt about the Astra Zeneca jab. Something does not seem right.
Significant number of Ontario PSWs refuse their COVID vaccine
It looks like Premier Doug Ford let the cat out of the bag when it comes to some health-care workers refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine offered to them.
Earlier this week, the Ontario Ministry of Health responded to a question from this newspaper by saying that they don’t track health-care workers who take, or don’t take, the COVID vaccine they are offered.
Turns out that’s not true and the government does have some detailed numbers.
Ontario is reporting 1,092 cases of #COVID19 and over 60,600 tests completed. Locally, there are 293 new cases in Toronto, 199 in Peel and 79 in York Region.
As of 8:00 p.m. yesterday, 1,019,407 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.

Canada to mark national day of observance to commemorate those who died of COVID-19
OTTAWA – Canada will mark the one-year anniversary today of the World Health Organization declaring COVID-19 a global pandemic.
Earlier this week Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who is to deliver a statement in the House of Commons this morning, designated March 11 a national day of observance to commemorate those who have died.
The government has asked Canadians to think about those whose lives were claimed by the novel coronavirus, as well as the health-care and other essential workers who have been on the front lines.

The coronavirus pandemic was the best thing to happen to CNN since Donald Trump.
What drama! What fear! What potential for ratings! Rarely has the old journalism aphorism “if it bleeds, it leads” gotten such mileage.
When the virus first came to the United States, CNN was dismissive. There were bigger, sexier stories to worry about, including Trump’s impeachment trial.
Then, as COVID-19 infections and fatalities ticked up, CNN suddenly became interested in the viral outbreak, focusing its attention almost entirely on the Trump administration’s sluggish and unfocused response. CNN went all-in on hysteria, death counts, and social distance scolding. Now, CNN’s programming is dedicated largely to squeezing the last few drops of panic from the pandemic, its guests and hosts warning viewers repeatedly that, even with the creation and distribution of new vaccines, things are far from “normal” and that you should stay frightened.
It’s still dangerous out there! Tune in tonight to learn what you can do to protect yourself!

Conservative Party MPs released a statement accusing the Trudeau Liberals of “doubling down” on a fake investment of $30 million to a Nova Scotia PPE manufacturer.
“The simple fact is that no investment exists,” wrote Pierre Paul-Hus, Conservative Shadow Minister for Public Services and Procurement, and Chris d’Entremont, Conservative MP for West Nova.
The statement calls on the Liberals to stop their campaign of “misleading Canadians on their fake investments.”

A new Statistics Canada report that highlights delayed cancer screenings, mental health woes and the damage caused to low-income Canadians is a damning indictment on the many voices who called for ever-tighter lockdowns without appropriate concern for the harms that they were inflicting on their fellow Canadians.

The French government claims that the level of Covid-19 vaccine uptake among health care workers “is not acceptable” and warns that if vaccination rates don’t improve it could make the jab compulsory.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom will say during his State of the State address that the pandemic will end soon. But when it does, Newsom will say that “we’re not going back to normal” because “normal accepts inequity.”

As vaccines are globally being rolled out, a few countries, including Bahrain, have already introduced certificates identifying vaccinated people and the European Union agreed to develop vaccine passports under pressure from tourism-dependent southern countries.
The certificate issued by China would have details about the holder’s COVID-19 vaccination information and coronavirus test results, the Department of Consular Affairs under China’s foreign ministry said on its website.

Workers were spotted assembling a mobile field hospital in the parking lot of the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto in preparation for a potential third wave of the coronavirus.
The 100-bed facility is one of two mobile field hospitals promised by the Trudeau government being set up in Sunnybrook’s parking lot is one of the promised facilities, CTV news Toronto learned Monday, and is meant to help bolster the region’s health-care system against being overwhelmed.

In their new COVID Misery Index, ranking the relative despair caused during the pandemic, MLI ranked Canada as the fifth most-miserable country out of the fifteen countries studied.
Some of these so-called vaccines are derived from aborted babies. Ethically, this presents a series of problems, mostly for bishops who must advise their flock, as is their vocation.
That sort of discernment is most troublesome for a government that has been used to being morally and politically corrupt and inept:
Health Minister Christian Dubé has criticized the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops over its vaccine advice.
The bishops suggested that Catholics should “prefer” the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines because they are more “morally acceptable” than those being produced by AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.

The whistleblower noted that posters have gone up where he works that say “mask up for the mission,” and his supervisors are now insisting that they keep the masks on while speaking with pilots.
“For context, our headsets use a boom microphone that adjusts to fit somewhere an inch or two away from our face. It has created an issue where we get a lot more read-back errors from pilots on instructions because they can’t hear us clearly over the radio,” he explained.

Pasadena, California, officials canceled a coronavirus vaccine clinic after hundreds of ineligible media and Hollywood workers signed up for appointments, they said.
Elderly residents and local workers were jumped over by around 900 appointment slots as media workers who did not yet qualify for the vaccine left only 600 empty slots open for eligible vaccine recipients, the Pasadena Public Health Department said Tuesday.

Today, Canada faces a perfect storm of dysfunction at various government levels and with key Canadian institutions. Muddling through is not the answer. The public is increasingly frustrated over the inability of governments to manage the pandemic. Trust is at a low ebb and no one really knows who or what to believe. Beyond the impact of the virus itself, consequences are spiralling downwards for the economy, the budget, public education and the mental health of Canadians of all ages.
