Just as Omicron fades, a new variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 has now been detected in every U.S. state, according to a new report. The variant, which didn’t get its own Greek letter name and is known simply as Omicron BA.2, is more contagious than its brother, but vaccines are effective against it.

Local medical officers OK if Ontario drops masking requirements

Don’t expect too much opposition from local medical officers of health when the Ontario government announces that it is lifting masking requirements for indoor settings.

Some of the most cautious local medical officers are signalling that they, too, are OK with lifting masking requirements.

The Coming Medical Dictatorship

On Feb. 10, four Assembly members introduced AB 1993, a bill that would force anybody with a job — whether full-time employees or independent contractors — to prove they were vaccinated against COVID-19. The bill states its provisions would expire when “the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices determines that COVID-19 vaccinations are no longer necessary for the health and safety of individuals.”

Then on Feb. 15, one of the members who introduced that bill proposed AB 2098, which would rescind the medical license of any doctor circulating “misinformation” about COVID-19 or vaccines designed to treat it.

An Ontario judge says he is not prepared to accept as fact that vaccinating children against COVID-19 is what’s best for them simply because it’s encouraged by the government, noting a number of factors – including the children’s own preferences – must be taken into account.

Horowitz: Why the political class needs Ukraine to end discussion about COVID

There’s a reason why Putin and Ukraine evidently cured COVID. They no longer want us discussing COVID because the daily revelations about the safety and efficacy of the shots – along with all the other lies about the pandemic – will create a frenzy of poignant and consequential questions from the public directed at elected officials. It’s precisely for that reason that we must not allow them to move on. They dragged us into COVID against our will; now it is our job not to allow them to distract us from it until justice is served.

The CDC’s Explanation for Its Reversal on School Mask Mandates Is Transparently Dishonest

The CDC, as always, claims to be following the science and adapting to changing conditions. But given that CDC Director Rochelle Walensky was saying as recently as February 15 that the agency had no plans to change its recommendations for schools, it seems clear that the CDC is shifting with the same political winds that encouraged one Democratic governor after another to lift statewide mask mandates.

Most of Ontario’s COVID-19 restrictions are lifting on March 1. Here’s what you need to know

Nearly all of Ontario’s major COVID-19 restrictions will lift this week, bringing the province the closest it’s been to pre-pandemic life.
