Corporate America’s Hypocrisy

There’s something heartening about the way corporate America has rushed to cut ties with its operations in Russia. But the quick, sweeping moves offer a strange contrast to the way corporate America has rarely if ever uttered a critical word about the government of China despite its ongoing genocide of the Uyghurs, its human-rights abuses, its oppression of Hong Kong, its threats toward Taiwan, etc.

In fact, corporate America might be getting tough on the Russian government in hopes that people forget how much it has groveled to Beijing and obeyed the wishes of the equally autocratic, equally aggressive and abusive Chinese government.

“Florida’s HB 1557, also known as the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, should never have passed and should never have been signed into law,” the statement reads. “Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts, and we remain committed to supporting the national and state organizations working to achieve that. Leftist Chickens Come Home to Roost for Amazon

One of the problems with living in America in the 21st century is that it is, well, America in the 21st century. But one of the great things about living in the Decline and Fall of the West is that one is always entertained.

In case you missed it, the organizers of Seattle Pride Week/Month/Year/Millennium/Epoch/Whatever have ousted Amazon as a sponsor. The reason? Like many businesses, Amazon supposedly gave money to politicians opposed to LGBTQRETIBONCYONAGKZX&UFDR#!$%^&* +/- @ policies.

Home Depot released a statement Wednesday addressing controversy about a hyper-progressive worksheet on “white privilege” and “racism” that recently went viral online.

The company acknowledged that the worksheet is a “resource” in its Canadian division but noted that it’s “not part of any required programming,” nor was it “created or approved by our corporate diversity, equity and inclusion department.”

Disney CEO Bob Chapek vows to produce more gay content for kids – but gets slammed by parents

Disney employees walked out of the company’s headquarters on Tuesday to protest the slow response to Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill as parents push back against the company’s last-minute attempts to shield itself from criticism that it’s not doing enough to support the LGBTQ community.

In a town hall meeting on Monday, CEO Bob Chapek said the entertainment behemoth would put together a task force to ensure that more LGBTQ-awareness content is available for children.

Ron DeSantis Rips ‘Woke’ Disney After CEO Bob Chapek Attacks Parental Rights Bill

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) came out swinging hard Thursday against the Walt Disney Company for its CEO’s support of transgender instruction for kindergarteners.

“When you have companies that have made a fortune off being family-friendly and catering to families and young kids, they should understand that parents of young kids do not want this injected into their kid’s kindergarten classroom,” he said.

Elon Musk Condemns Rising Woke Trend In Corporate America

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk condemned “ESG” standards — a growing trend in corporate America to make businesses more “socially conscious.”

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria are “a set of standards for a company’s operations that socially conscious investors use to screen potential investments,” according to Investopedia. For instance, a company may emphasize its use of green energy, association with LGBTQ suppliers, or otherwise arrange its operations such that producing shareholder value is inseparable from a leftist agenda.

Calls to boycott Coca-Cola grow after company refuses to pull out of Russia

Calls to boycott Coca-Cola products reached a fever pitch Friday afternoon as the beverage company reportedly signaled it would continue doing business in Russia amid the invasion of Ukraine.

Three Ukrainian supermarket chains announced they would remove Coca-Cola products from their shelves, and #BoycottCocaCola became the No. 1 national trending Twitter topic Friday afternoon after a spokesperson for the beverage company’s exclusive bottler in Russia reportedly told a Russian state-owned news agency that it would continue all business operations in the country.

Remember when Coke got woke?

The corporate class will not abandon Russia for long, look how many remain committed to Communist China despite it’s human rights record.

Of course it’s not just Coca-Cola – McDonald’s, Pepsi, others should consider pausing Russia operations –NY pension fund

Bank Account Deplatforming Is Cancel Culture’s New Weapon

Canada’s Trudeau administration said it will punish the truckers who participated in the anti-vaccine mandate Freedom Convoy by freezing their bank accounts. Although the United States government isn’t yet sanctioning this practice here, bank deplatforming against those who oppose leftists is becoming more and more frequent, nonetheless.

Olympic sponsor Coca-Cola silent on Uyghurs as it boosts Black Lives Matter and pursues China business

Olympics sponsor Coca-Cola has remained silent on the topic of human rights abuses by the Chinese government even as it boosts left-wing political causes in the United States while pursuing business in China.

Coca-Cola, based in Atlanta and a member of the Olympic Partner program, has refused to specifically condemn the Chinese Communist Party’s treatment of the Uyghur Muslim minority group and others, but it has supported the Black Lives Matter movement while attacking Republican-led Georgia’s election laws and anti-abortion proposals. The company has teamed up with the International Olympic Committee and a massive Chinese company to promote the Beijing Winter Games.

I hope someone thinks to question GoFundMe about their support of domestic terrorists.

U.S.-based crowdfunding platform GoFundMe will appear before the House public safety and national security committee on March 3 about its involvement in hosting the trucker convoy’s original fundraising campaign.

NDP MP and public safety critic Alistair MacGregor, who introduced the motion to invite the group, tweeted the update on Thursday.

The news comes as the committee is set to hear Thursday from representatives of the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada – the country’s financial intelligence unit – about the issue.
