‘Trying to tell us something’: Climatologist says 2021 a weather year like no other

When Dave Phillips, Environment Canada’s senior climatologist, began 26 years ago compiling his annual list of the country’s Top 10 weather events, he sometimes had to stretch a bit.

“One of the big stories was, ‘Hey, it was a good recreation season, skiers loved it,”‘ he recalls.

Searching for weather events was not a problem in 2021.

“This year was beyond belief. There’s no year in the 26 years that could compare to this year.”

Billboard Truck Returns: There Is No Climate Emergency Here In Calgary

There is no climate emergency. This much is apparent to anyone who is paying attention. Even members of Calgary city council who voted in favour of declaring a climate emergency in the city acknowledge that is was a symbolic declaration. They are right — as far as helping the environment in any meaningful way, this declaration is empty virtue signalling. Phony virtue is not all this emergency declaration signals, however — it is abundantly clear that progressive politicians want us living in a perpetual state of fear so that they can do what they wish and seize more power. We are jumping from one emergency to the next.

Germany’s Next Government Vows “Climate Revolution,” Creates “Super” Ministry

The incoming coalition, made up of Social Democrats, Greens and center-right Free Democrats, has agreed to set up a “super ministry” to push a climate agenda. “A new ‘super’ Climate and Economy Ministry, to be headed by Habeck, is to provide the bureaucratic muscle to implement the ambitious measures,” the German broadcaster added.

By putting the economy under the purview of the ‘super climate ministry,’ Berlin is sending the signal that globalist climate agenda comes before jobs or the nation’s economic wellbeing.

How the BBC is crushing the climate debate

BBC News carried two articles last week denigrating and demonising the critics of climate-change alarmism.

The first was by Marianna Spring, the BBC’s ‘specialist disinformation reporter’. She asserted that criticism of environmentalism was being fuelled by right-wing conspiracy theorists who had switched ‘from Covid denial to climate denial’. And the second came from reporters Rachel Schraer and Kayleen Devlin, who are both part of the BBC’s ‘Reality Check’ team of fact-checkers. They claimed to have exposed ‘the truth behind the new climate-change denial’. Both articles are travesties of journalism.

Canadians increasingly impatient with climate-change deniers

The past couple of years have provided many examples of extreme weather events that, according to scientists, were exacerbated by climate change.

These events, which used to be featured in the back pages of newspapers or during the final moments of newscasts, are now in Canada. British Columbians endured an extreme heat wave in July, which has been followed this month by heavy rainfall and severe flooding.

Here’s Everything That’s Wrong With the Build Back Better Spending Bill House Democrats Just Passed

House Democrats voted Friday to pass the so-called “Build Back Better” plan, a multi-trillion-dollar welfare and climate change spending bill. They’re heralding it as a major accomplishment that will uplift struggling Americans and revitalize the economy. So, let’s review all the reasons it’s an utterly terrible piece of legislation.
