Casey Babb: Canada doesn’t need an antisemitism or Islamophobia czar

On July 17, Deborah Lyons, Canada’s special envoy on preserving Holocaust remembrance and combating antisemitism, abruptly retired. Lyons, who served as Canada’s ambassador to Israel from 2016 to 2020, came into this role in October 2023 — just a week after Palestinian terrorists carried out their barbaric attacks in Israel, killing some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking over 250 hostages. While she was expected to hold the position for another few months, until October 2025, she decided “with a heavy heart,” to step down early.

With the position now vacant, the time has come to permanently dissolve the post — as well as the position of Canada’s special representative on combating Islamophobia. High paying jobs that don’t lead to results are bad. Ones that continue to divide people are even worse.

Carney will recognize Pallie State in September providing they maintain agreed upon charade

Canada plans to recognize Palestinian state in September, Carney says

Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada will recognize a Palestinian state in September if the West Bank’s governing body agrees to certain conditions.

The prime minister said the Palestinian Authority must hold an election in 2026 and commit to other democratic reforms.

Carney’s announcement came after he spoke to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas earlier Wednesday — and follows similar commitments from other allied countries in the past week.

The rot has set in.

Video of Mayor Olivia Chow welcoming well fed Gaza “refugees” to Toronto pulled from Instagram over online abuse

Mayor Olivia Chow says she’s been forced to remove a video she posted to social media in which she welcomed a Palestinian family to Toronto, after they faced a barrage of online abuse.

In a post to Instagram on Monday, Chow criticized Israel over the deepening crisis in Gaza, saying she supports “the Canadian government’s recent condemnation” of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government “as the humanitarian disaster worsens.”

“Israel must allow Palestinians to access food, water and humanitarian aid. Famine should never be used as a weapon,” the mayor wrote in the post.

They look well fed.

Jewish father attacked by mob at Italian service station

A Jewish father and his six-year-old son were targeted by a mob on Sunday chanting “Free Palestine” and “murderers” at a service station near Milan, with the man eventually pushed to the floor and repeatedly kicked, in the latest of a sharp rise in antisemitic incidents across Europe.

According to the victim – a 52-year-old French Jew who lives in France and gave his name only as Elie– the incident began when a cashier shouted “Free Palestine”, upon noticing that he and his son were wearing kippahs.

Hamas’s Dream: Turning Palestinians Into a ‘Nation of Martyrs’

On October 24, 2023, senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad threatened that his Iran-backed terror group would carry out more massacres against Israelis — time and again until Israel was annihilated. Referring to the Hamas-led October 7, 2023 invasion of Israel that resulted in the murder of more than 1,200 Israelis and foreign nationals, Hamad said:

“The Al-Aqsa Flood [the name Hamas uses to describe its October 7 slaughter] is just the first time, and there will be a second, a third, a fourth…. Will we have to pay a price? Yes, and we are ready to pay it. We are called a nation of martyrs, and we are proud to sacrifice martyrs.”

What does no politics in the classroom mean? Ford government’s directive has created fear and confusion, say parents and teachers

A temporary ban on students sharing their family’s culture in class. A parent-organized Pride event moved outside school hours. Teachers afraid to answer students’ questions around the Israel-Hamas war.

Over the past academic year, Toronto parents and teachers say activities and discussions that would typically be normal to have in the classroom have suddenly become a source of fear and confusion — and they pin the blame on an edict dropped by the Ontario government last September.

Trump says he does not endorse Netanyahu’s claim there is no starvation in Gaza

Donald Trump has said he believes there is a famine in Gaza and he has told Israel that “maybe they have to do it in a different way”.

Speaking outside his hotel in Turnberry, South Ayrshire, on Monday, the US president said people in Gaza needed “to get food and safety right now” and that he wanted to get ceasefire talks restarted.

Asked if he agreed with the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, who said earlier on Monday that there was no starvation in Gaza, Trump replied: “I don’t know. Based on television, I would say not particularly, because those children look very hungry. We’re giving a lot of money and a lot of food and other nations are now stepping up.”

Note: Viral images of starving Gaza boy don’t tell the whole story because he suffers from genetic disorders, critics say

A people who celebrate rape, murder and the so-called “martyrdom” of their son’s and daughters are capable of anything if it advances their agenda.

Which countries recognize Palestinian statehood?

… France will be the 148th country to officially recognize the Palestinian territories as a state. Just under half of these nations did this formally after November 1988, when the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) officially declared Palestine an independent state. Endorsements came from communist states such as the Soviet Union and China, as well as nonaligned countries Yugoslavia and India.

Michael Geist: When it comes to antisemitism, the sound of silence is loud in Canada

Deborah Lyons, Canada’s recently retired envoy for combating antisemitism, this week lamented that the effort to shine a light on increasing antisemitism in Canada had left her “despondent and despairing about the fact that it was hard to get people to speak up, to speak with clarity, to speak with conviction about what we were seeing happening here on Canadian soil.”

Jewish communities have long known silence. At its worst, it has manifested in some communities as synagogue floors covered in sand to mask the sound of feet shuffling during silent prayers or by those hidden during the Holocaust to escape capture by the Nazis. In today’s Canada, silence comes in different ways. Some Jews quietly conceal their identity by refraining from displaying a Star of David or kippah, families remove mezzuzahs from their front doors to avoid telegraphing that it is a Jewish home, and the community avoids widespread promotion of events hosted in community centres due to security concerns.

“In fact, even political views on the founding of the State of Israel or expressions of support for Zionism, which as former prime minister Justin Trudeau noted “is the belief, at its simplest, that Jewish people, like all peoples, have the right to determine their own future” runs the risk of being labelled as “racist” in today’s educational environment, thereby silencing the perspectives.”

What about Canada? I am called a racist colonizer with no right to exist here and am labeled the APEX predator within the DEI/CRT hierarchy of evil solely because I have white skin.

How is it a prof has never heard of Islam or thought about the impact of Muslim immigration on current events?

Former City of Ottawa lawyer who defaced Holocaust memorial pleads guilty to mischief, gets bail

A former lawyer for the City of Ottawa who desecrated the National Holocaust Monument by splashing it with red paint and scrawling the words FEED ME in large red block letters, has pleaded guilty to mischief and been released on bail to his parents’ house.

Iain Aspenlieder, who is expected to be sentenced later this year, last month vandalized the memorial to six million Jews killed by the Nazi regime. His lawyer said Friday that the act was an attempt to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and was not motivated by hate.

I suggest they investigate whether hair dye poisoning played a role.

Sorry Deb But My Inclusivity Does Not Include Importing Murder Cults

Outgoing antisemitism envoy calls out business, religious leaders for lack of action

OTTAWA – Ottawa’s outgoing envoy for tackling antisemitism is accusing Canada’s business sector and civil society of failing to call out a rising tide of hate against Jews and other minorities.

In an extensive interview with The Canadian Jewish News, Deborah Lyons also says she could not get a meeting with Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre during her nearly two-year term.

She says Canadian society faces a growing gulf over violence in the Middle East and Canadians are “listening and hearing on different frequencies” instead of trying to find common ground against hate.

What a clueless woman. Your average Canadian did not ask that a dangerous cult be invited to settle here, and we do not wish to be blamed for something we are not responsible for.

Our imperious antisemitism Tsarina doesn’t get that no one will listen to a gov’t lackey demanding that we protect Jews from the Muslims she and her elite pals imported.

Face it Deb the Liberal government that appointed you would rather court the Islamist vote than protect Canadians.

It seems you were too insulated to realize you were being used.

Whatever vision of Canada you thought you were living in was just a mirage. Canada has been overrun by mass immigration from incompatible cultures who care nothing for our values and heritage. You and your Kool-Aid drinking pals called that multiculturalism and diversity. We call it The Great Replacement.

MASS DEPORTATION. REMIGRATION. That is the only solution.
