Dave Chappelle Calls Out The Hypocrisy Of The #MeToo Movement In His New Standup ‘The Closer’

Chappelle’s latest special opens with him standing in front of a maskless crowd, in an intimate, close setting. For a moment, you forget it was recorded in August 2021, at least until he mentions his personal experience with vaccination and Covid-19. But it doesn’t take long for Chappelle to hit many hot-topic subjects, one of which is the Me Too movement. He illustrates the flaws with it, the superficiality and vapidness around it when it hit Hollywood, and the hypocrisy around it. Chappelle isn’t wrong about it at all, and he actually offers a bit of advice of what could have gone differently – and maybe what we can change – with the movement.
How Seinfeld (Hilariously) Exposed the Creepy Authoritarianism of Aggressive Do-Gooders
If you asked me what my favorite Seinfeld episode is, I’d have a hard time answering. There are just too many winners.
Many would say the best ever is “The Contest,” the Emmy Award-winning episode where Jerry and company compete to see who is “master of their domain.” And who can forget “The Soup Nazi” or “The Merv Griffin Show” or Kenny Rogers chicken (“The Chicken Roaster”)?
Personally, I’ve always been a fan of “The Race,” the one where Elaine is dating a communist—Ned Isakoff—who feeds Kramer a bunch of socialist propaganda that ends up getting Kramer and his side-kick Mickey fired from their Santa/Elf gig at Coleman’s department store.
All of these are worthy of discussion for belonging in the Seinfeld pantheon; I bust a gut laughing at each one. But one of the most instructive scenes—one fitting for our times—comes in “The Sponge,” when Kramer decides to participate in an AIDS walk to support charity.

Happy 20th Birthday, Trailer Park Boys

This year, the Canadian TV show Trailer Park Boys turns twenty. The program’s refusal to patronize its marginal, working-class characters was key to its comedic and popular success, and won it a special place in our hearts.
Mike Rowe: Learning From Dirty Jobs
Mike Rowe, the host of “Dirty Jobs,” tells some compelling (and horrifying) real-life job stories. Listen for his insights and observations about the nature of hard work, and how it’s been unjustifiably degraded in society today.
While at our local produce farm a couple days ago, the owner recommended this video to me. I’ve been dealing with them for several years but the father/husband, Dan, likes to talk and brought up politics for the first time with me. He & his family & friends are good folks, avid Trump supporters, and refer to liberals as “Communists”. So I showed them Blazingcatfur on my phone, they loved it! Honestly I was surprised because Dan’s wife (nice lady) is a teacher, and that usually means batshit crazy liberal. I think you’ll like this video even though it’s a few years old.
