Mainstream Democrats Introduce Bill Endangering Israel

Just when Congress overwhelmingly defeated an effort by eight radical Democrats and one Republican to defund Israel’s Iron Dome defense system, several “mainstream” Democrats proposed legislation that is equally dangerous and filled with half-truths, omissions and outright fabrications.

Congressman Andy Levin has introduced a bill that purports to further the “two-state solution” to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Although I favor two states for two peoples, I strongly oppose Levin’s perhaps well-intentioned but ill-conceived bill, because it would destroy any prospect for peace, would reward and encourage terrorism and disincentivize Palestinian leaders from negotiating with Israel.

NJ mayor blasts Ben & Jerry’s ‘virtue signaling’ pro-Palestine stance and asks: How come you still sell in China, Saudi Arabia and Syria if you care about human rights?

The mayor of a town in New Jersey where Ben & Jerry’s owner Unilever is headquartered has blasted the ice cream firm for its vow to stop selling ice cream in the West Bank to boycott Israeli settlements.

Ben & Jerry’s has been embroiled in an ongoing saga of boycotts and criticism after the company released a statement on July 19 that selling ice cream in ‘Occupied Palestinian Territory’ was ‘inconsistent with our values.’

The BBC’s Notoriously Anti-Israel and Pro-Palestinian Middle East Coverage

The BBC has for many decades been notoriously anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian in its Middle East coverage. Among the main offenders there is the execrable John Simpson, who for years was in charge of all foreign broadcasts as head of BBC World Services; there is Jeremy Bowen, now the BBC’s Middle East Editor, and there is Lyse Doucet, now the BBC’s senior foreign correspondent, based in the Middle East, whose antipathy to Israel, and identification with the Palestinian cause, is palpable. Despite their scarcely hidden biases, neither has been subject to any disciplinary action, much less been fired.

Canada: Muslim Students Association demands that university ‘remove all pro-Zionist narrative’

The mere presence of Israel is an offense to Palestinians, which is why the Charter of every Palestinian political group demands that Israel be obliterated. A clever stream of deception clouds this fact, even while the aspiration to destroy Israel completely is included in the popular chant: “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free.” Canada is in a dangerous place, referencing as “racism” and “discrimination” anything offensive to Muslims, while at the same time, completely ignoring the real threat posed by the jihad — stealth and violent — everywhere. The big lie is that the MSA routinely (and carefully) claims that it is not anti-Semitic.

Liberals approached me to cross the floor, issues with Green leader ‘irreconcilable’: Atwin

…Atwin said she stands by her pro-Palestinian position, and was hurt by the accusation made that she was anti-Semitic. She said she’s been told there is a difference of opinion among Liberals and believes there will be an opportunity within her new caucus to have a more “healthy discussion and debate” than was possible with her former team.

“I know I’m going to a place where I’m not alone in how I feel about this issue, and that I’ll have that collaboration to work through it and come to an understanding, and that’s what I’m very much looking forward to,” she said, without naming names.

The Conservatives have sought to attack the Liberals over the move, framing it as welcoming in “another anti-Israeli MP,” suggesting she will be “in good company.”

California Teacher Union Activist: U.S. Is An ‘Evil Empire’ That Funds ‘Ugly Zionism’

California Teacher Union Activist: U.S. Is An ‘Evil Empire’ That Funds ‘Ugly Zionism’

An anti-Israel activist within a California teachers union called Zionism a “sick bourgeois” ideology and claimed that Israeli committed “war crimes.”

According to a report from the Washington Free Beacon, left-wing activist and teacher Soni Lloyd used his Facebook to call the U.S. an “evil empire” that funds “ugly Zionism.” In a May 14 post, the teacher published a YouTube video of Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib entitled, “Watch Rep. Rashida Tlaib Blast U.S. Aid for Israel & Attack on Gaza in Dramatic House Floor Speech.”

This seems par for the course among “educators” nowadays.

And of course among the Glitterati…

Google Diversity Head Said Jews Have ‘Insatiable Appetite for War’

Google’s head of diversity strategy said in a 2007 blog post that Jews have an “insatiable appetite for war” and an “insensitivity to the suffering [of] others.” The comments were part of a longer meditation from Kamau Bobb, now head of diversity strategy at Google, that also slammed Israel’s military actions in Gaza and Lebanon that same year.

Bobb was at the time a research associate in technology at Georgia Tech, according to his LinkedIn. The post, titled “If I Were A Jew,” described how he believed Jewish people should view the Middle East conflict.

Maher: It‘s Not Progressive to Side with Hamas, I‘m Frustrated ‘There Was No One on Liberal Media‘ to Defend Israel

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher stated that he was frustrated during the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas “because there was no one on liberal media to defend Israel,” and that he’s amazed that “progressives think that they’re being progressive” by siding with Hamas and “would run screaming to Tel Aviv if they had to live in Gaza for one day.”

Outrage Mounts at New York Times Depiction of Jewish ‘Bloodlust’

Outrage is mounting at New York Times coverage of the recent Israel-Gaza war, with prominent Israeli and American Jewish leaders denouncing the newspaper using terms like “shameless,” “bias,” “propaganda disinformation” and “blood libel.”

Lenny Ben-David, a former Israeli diplomat, commented, “I have never seen worse anti-Israel propaganda disinformation than this @nytimes piece in my 40+ yrs of defending #Israel in media trenches. Every child’s death is a disaster, but the Times presents a blood libel vs Israel.”

UN rights body debates ‘systematic discrimination’ in Israel and Palestine

The UN’s main human rights body is to meet to discuss launching an investigation into “systematic discrimination and repression” in Israel and Palestine, with the aim of identifying what it said were the root causes of recent Gaza bloodshed.

A draft proposal that calls for unprecedented levels of scrutiny of alleged abuses, called at the request of Muslim states, will be put before the 47-member UN human rights council on Thursday.

Opening the session in Geneva, the UN rights chief, Michelle Bachelet, said Israel’s attacks on Gaza this month could constitute war crimes if they were found to be disproportionate, and accused Hamas of firing indiscriminate rockets on Israel.

And they’ll be completely transparent and impartial!

BBC bias over Israel – the report they still won’t let you read

NATURALLY there is saturation media coverage of the Dyson Report about how the BBC obtained an interview with Princess Diana 26 years ago. The report exposes BBC professional incompetence and moral indecency, and those responsible should be ashamed of their disgraceful behaviour.

This is therefore an appropriate time to ask the BBC hierarchy why they continue to suppress the Balen Report, which was commissioned to investigate biased BBC coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian issue of the type which has been so current these last weeks.
