US Representative Cori Bush exercised her liberties as an American and member of Congress to contend that, as the nation celebrates Independence Day, it continues to occupy stolen land and deny freedom to black people.
“When they say that the 4th of July is about American freedom, remember this: The freedom they’re referring to is for white people,” Bush said Sunday on Twitter. “This land is stolen land, and black people still aren’t free.”

All New York City employees are now required to sit through a remarkably predictable video explaining the creative nuances of gender identity, as part of mandated sexual harassment training.
The instructional footage is part of an online sexual harassment prevention training module created by the NYC Commission on Human Rights. All city employees are required by law to take the instructional course.
The Biden administration seems to be upset that the successful 287(g) program in Bristol County, Mass., has resulted in the identification of illegal aliens arrested for child rape, assault, strangulation, arson, attempted murder, armed carjacking, breaking and entering, and identity theft, and they plan to put an end to this public safety program immediately, no matter the cost to public safety. This is consistent with the administration’s enforcement priorities and would ensure that countless criminal aliens are released into our communities. [Emphasis added]

To my generation, growing up in the Cold War, that sense of America The Protector still lingered. I remember as a child seeing US troops at Checkpoint Charlie and being aware that it was thanks to them that we didn’t have to keep our eyes down like the poor prisoners of East Berlin. As a British child, when you watched American films or American TV, you identified with the Americans against our common enemies around the world.
Perhaps the most frightening thing happening in America is the weaponizing of race and gender. We need to be wary, because this is a war for power. This is a war to deny American citizens our Constitutional rights and to create a totalitarian society controlled by the woke left.
We must not allow this to happen, or it will mean the defeat of all the principles and all the freedoms that this country was built upon. The latest battle in this war is the media coverage of, and the Democrat talking points about, the horrific recent shootings in Atlanta. But I believe the war started years ago.
“I’m not ready to go into details on that but needless to say, it was not a pleasant experience,” Auclair said, adding she faced an environment that she says left her with the clear impression that women were not wanted. She also said the man in charge of the training — Capt. Brian Brooks — sometimes forced the two women to shower in the communal space with male trainees.
“I’m sure you can imagine: when you’re two women and so many men, there’s no good ending.”

Opinion: Chinatown attacks won’t divide Black and Asian communities
You probably started seeing the headlines a few weeks ago suggesting that Oakland Chinatown was being targeted with hate crimes. Inflammatory security-camera footage showing a Black man assaulting an elder was suddenly everywhere. Reddit and NextDoor were crawling with trolls claiming knowledge of supposed widespread anti-Asian American bigotry in Black communities.
…Our Black and Asian communities have come together to push back against anti-Black and anti-Asian violence in recognition that all violence comes from the same root causes: white supremacy and capitalism. Black folks are dying from gun violence in East and West Oakland, and folks in Chinatown are experiencing a rise in robberies and assaults. But it’s all coming from the same source.
