Vatican Secretary of State Denounces E.U. Attempt to ‘Cancel’ Christmas

ROME — Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin has denounced a European Union communication manual barring the use of “Merry Christmas” in favor of “Happy Holidays,” Vatican News reported this week.

“Europe owes its existence and identity to many contributions, but it certainly cannot be forgotten that one of the main contributions, if not the main one, was Christianity itself,” Cardinal Parolin said. “Therefore, destroying the difference and destroying the roots means destroying the person.”

Diversity in holiday movies improves, but gaps still need to be filled

It’s the most wonderful time of the year to binge-watch holiday movies, with a new slate of festive films being released on the small screen as we head into the winter months. And for an industry that’s long been criticized for its lack of diversity, this year’s seasonal offerings are taking steps toward inclusivity.

One year after airing their first holiday movies featuring LGSTD+ characters in prominent roles, television networks Lifetime and Hallmark are releasing new films starring gay leads, including Under the Christmas Tree, Lifetime’s first movie featuring a lesbian couple.

‘Trans goons, bedwetters and snowflakes’: New book destroys identity politics

Controversial author Julie Burchill dispenses with the niceties in ‘Welcome to the Woke Trials’, her new book that takes on the activists pushing the gender debate and Generation Bedwetter icons like Sam Smith and Meghan Markle.

There’s an undeniable groundswell building against the crazed identity-obsessed woke mob, but if there’s to be any significant pushback, then there will need to be more people prepared to surge over the trenches like British journalist and social provocateur Julie Burchill.

Chappelle Torches Students To Their Face At His High School Alma Mater After They Get Mouthy With Him

Comedian Dave Chappelle reportedly mocked several students at his high school alma mater while he performed there on Tuesday after the students got mouthy with him in front of the crowd.

Chappelle performed in front of nearly 600 students during a surprise visit to D.C.’s Duke Ellington School of the Arts, which came after the school reportedly canceled a fundraiser involving Chappelle after some leftists complained about jokes that he made about transgender people during his “The Closer” special on Netflix.

Confession and Conspiracism in the Church of Social Justice

“Indigenous peoples have been stewards of this planet since time immemorial,” tweeted Canadian Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault from the Glasgow Climate Change Conference earlier this month. “The fight against climate change is not possible without their knowledge and leadership.”

It was an odd thing to post. In recent years, many Canadian Indigenous groups have become full commercial partners in oil and gas development projects, and so have no particular incentive to apply their “knowledge and leadership” toward assisting white environmentalists such as Guilbeault in limiting carbon emissions. But even if First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples fully answered his call, it’s not clear why they would have any special insights to offer in regard to how densely urbanized nations such as Canada can best shift their industrial base, power generation, and transportation networks to low-carbon fuel sources.

‘Should we call it undocumented shopping then?’ Disbelief as woke criminal experts tell public NOT to call California crime-wave ‘looting’ because ‘it’s racist’

Social media ripped woke supposed criminal experts for saying that the public should not refer to the string of thefts across California as ‘looting.’

Those interviewed by a Bay Area news station, including a professor of criminal justice and ex-cop, think the steals should be referred to as ‘organized smash-and-grabs.’

The distinction originates from the California penal code, which defines looting as ‘theft or burglary… during a ‘state of emergency,’ ‘local emergency’ or ‘evacuation order resulting from an earthquake, fire, flood, riot or other natural or manmade disaster.’

Teachers’ union in Canada introduces ‘weighted voting’ for minority members

In the name of promoting racial equity in that hotbed of racism known as Canada, a labor union representing 60,000 teachers and other educational employees there has restructured its voting system to weight the votes of minority members at the expense of others, in order to ensure a particular outcome in voting on the claim of racial equity.

America on the Verge

One day, when sufficient distance has been gained from the Current Year to permit sober reflection on our own era, the recent past will no doubt be seen as a watershed in American political history. The election of Barack Obama in 2008 gave politics a religious sheen for Millennials just coming of age, and for Boomers hoping to avoid confronting the wreckage left in the wake of their rule. The election of Donald Trump in 2016 gave the new religion its devil. From Russia collusion to #MeToo, from Covington Catholic to Judge Kavanaugh, American culture and politics in the years since has been an unbroken series of witch crazes, lynch mobs, and human sacrifices (some successfully carried out, others not). The Democratic Party, the corporate press, and progressive activists openly embraced political violence as a means to achieve policy goals, block political appointments, and now, to attempt to affect court decisions.
