The Press Has Lied To Drag The United States Into War Before. Don’t Think They Won’t Again

When you see talking heads uncritically parroting propagandist stories about Ukraine that turn out to be false, from the “Ghost of Kyiv” to that Snake Island story to old photos taken years ago, you should be asking why the corporate media is so willing to spread such fake news (while it censors conservatives for factual critiques of disproven Covid narratives, no less). It wouldn’t be the first time the press lied to pull Americans into war.

Two years of lockdowns has changed everything

“Think back to the America you grew up in. There were 3 things you knew about that country: It was a free country. It was a middle-class country, it was defined by small business. And it was a Constitutional country. Our politicians were limited by the guard rails in our founding documents, they couldn’t go past that. So, it was a happy place.”

“Unfortunately, none of those 3 things is still true about the United States, and lockdowns are not entirely to blame for that, no single cause ever is. But there’s no question that the coronavirus lockdowns accelerated the transformation of the United States.”

How globalisation cheated America – The West’s opening up to China came at a big cost

Globalisation is becoming an increasingly dirty word — and for good reason. Over the last two to three decades, the West’s opening up to low-cost, export-oriented economies like China has hurt the working class and made us worryingly dependent on distant and fragile supply chains.

But did all that free movement of labour, capital, goods and services make us as rich as we were promised? A stunning set of charts from American Compass provides part of the answer (and from a US perspective, obviously).

Biden Is So Weak, Another Big Threat Is Organizing in the U.S.

The Islamic State (ISIS) is back. Five years after Donald Trump entered the Oval Office and quickly brought about the destruction of its caliphate in Iraq and Syria, ISIS is resurgent and wealthy. Could this have anything to do with Old Joe Biden’s misrule? Of course.

As China’s military tech dominates, Congress demands science bow to racial ‘justice’

China’s murky intentions regarding its Russian alliance and the Ukraine war are making headlines. Whatever the outcome, the next global conflict could well involve the deployment of Beijing’s growing technological prowess.

China has already surpassed America in several branches of quantum information science, which entails massive computations and nearly instantaneous communications — and in critical areas of artificial intelligence, all of which have military applications.

Minnesota Somali community on edge over FBI fraud allegations

… “This is hitting the community really hard,” said Bashir Garad Dahir, who later described the meeting. “We need crystal clear answers from the government. At some point we will come out and demand it because we’re concerned about the way the FBI is conducting its investigation. It is terrorizing the community.”

The FBI is investigating an alleged broad scheme to defraud the U.S. Department of Agriculture of tens of millions of dollars in child nutrition spending. Instead of feeding children, court documents allege an array of entities used the money to buy real estate, cars and other luxury items. According to FBI documents unsealed so far, many of the subcontractors under investigation are from the Somali community.

Propaganda Alert! President Zelenskyy to Address Congress

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is portrayed as a hero as he pushes for NATO — specifically the US — to go to war. While Russia is led by a villain and they invaded Ukraine, Zelenskyy might have been able to stop it before it got to this point. There is a lot of evidence that Russia did have legitimate complaints ignored by Zelenskyy and NATO.

For the record, I don’t agree with a lot of things in this article. I do however agree that Zelenskyy is not a hero and this is not our fight – at least not yet. But it’s always good to know what your opponents are thinking.

Pondering a World Without Us

The American-led global order isn’t perfect, but it’s better than the alternatives

The Iraq War was the event that drew me into political consciousness as a teenager in high school. I remember sitting in my biology class as the teacher let us deviate from the day’s material to argue about the imminent U.S. invasion in the Middle East. I felt uneasy about the justifications given for the war, but I was badly outgunned: nearly everyone else felt that President George W. Bush’s case was airtight. I watched the ensuing chaos on the television screens and attended enormous antiwar marches, shouting my lungs off about the pointlessness of the conflict. I’ve probably never felt more politically powerless in my life.

American elites have squandered our technological and manufacturing advantage over both Russia and China.

Few dispute that the Ukraine crisis brings with it the risk of nuclear escalation. The reverse also might be true: The Ukraine crisis may be the result of a shift in the world’s nuclear balance.

With an economy smaller than the state of Texas, Russia has built strategic weapons superior to many in the American arsenal. These include land as well as submarine-launched hypersonic weapons that can carry nuclear missiles past any American defense, as well as the world’s best air defense system, the S-500. The October 4, 2021, test of Russia’s submarine-launched “Zircon” hypersonic missile was the first-ever underwater firing of a low-altitude weapon that flies at nine times the speed of sound, according to Russian claims. A Russian sub lurking a hundred miles off the American coast could nuke Washington in a flat minute.
