LYTLE: Carney in a rush to get nowhere

Having read “Value(s),” the pre-electoral, philosophical musings of Prime Minister Carney, I was keen to read his first stab at legislating. I will cut to the chase.

His ambiguous style of writing about values is reflected in his ambiguous style of writing about interprovincial trade and labour and large project promotion in Bill C-5, (An Act to enact the Free Trade and Labour Mobility in Canada Act and the Building Canada Act.)

My prediction is that nothing will be changed by this legislation and that, perhaps, is by design.

GOP Senators Present Evidence China Bankrolls Environmentalist Lawsuits To Cripple U.S. Power

Senators met yesterday for a subcommittee hearing to discuss claims that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), foreign donors, and leftist legal activism are behind a “systematic campaign” to dismantle American energy dominance.

Throughout the hearing, Chairman Ted Cruz, R-Texas, emphasized how foreign funding and activist litigation are undermining U.S. energy infrastructure, posing a national security threat. His four Democrat colleagues repeatedly dismissed the concerns as a “conspiracy theory,” instead focusing on energy costs and “global warming.”

This Ukrainian immigrant got loans from Canada and Ontario to start a meat plant here. Now, Ottawa says he’s inadmissible

In 2019, Oleksandr Zahrebelnyn came to Canada from Ukraine on a work permit and opened a meat processing plant in North Bay with the financial backing of the Canadian and Ontario governments.

The entrepreneur has spent more than six years in the country, receiving multiple renewals of his visas and work authorization. But now immigration officials have told him that he and his family should be barred from Canada because he had previously worked for the main Ukrainian security agency.

We must heed the warning of Spain’s Net Zero blackouts

At 12.30pm on Monday 28 April, Spain and Portugal were plunged into blackouts. Modern life ground to a halt, thanks to one of the worst power outages in European history. Electricity was not fully restored across Spain until 10 hours later, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, with outages lasting up to 18 hours in some regions. Even when the grid came back online, it was still difficult to make phone calls or access the internet in parts of central Spain.

Karmelo Anthony’s fixer wants more money to continue fighting ‘white supremacy’

There’s now an official murder charge on the table for Karmelo Anthony, the young black delinquent who admitted to stabbing Austin Metcalf to death at a Texas track meet earlier this spring, though he swore it was self-defense.

Why now? Well there was a major development: the prosecution recently obtained video footage of the fatal stabbing, and considering that there have been no leaks of the recording, I can only assume the evidence is beyond damning for Anthony—some sources allege that the video shows the stabbing was entirely unprovoked which contradicts earlier rumors that Metcalf had shoved Anthony after Anthony refused to exit an athlete tent for a school he didn’t attend.

Considering accessory to manslaughter? Don’t worry, you’ll get to keep your gym membership

Grok’s interpretations are often  mysterious

An Ontario court justice has sent a strong message to criminal thugs all across the province who might find themselves in a scenario where they could help a friend evade justice: Go ahead. You won’t necessarily go to jail. In fact, you might be able to keep your gym membership.

In July, 2023, in the Leslieville area of Toronto, Khalila Mohammed helped a man involved in a fatal shooting of a bystander escape the scene and hide out from authorities. Ms. Mohammed, who was 23 years old at the time, worked as a harm-reduction worker at the supervised-consumption site near where the daytime shooting took place. Karolina Huebner-Makurat, a mother of two who lived in the area, was hit and killed by a stray bullet.

Joy Reid campaigns for Iran to get ‘nuclear energy’ in cringe-worthy panel appearance

Fired ex-MSNBC host Joy Reid mistakenly blasted the US for trying to stop Iran obtaining nuclear energy during her latest CNN appearance.

Speaking on Newsnight earlier this week, Reid defended the country following the attacks on their nuclear sites by President Donald Trump over the weekend.

The left-wing commentator said: ‘Why on earth is the United States bombing a country that did not attack us, what on earth are we doing there at all.

The Perversion of Pride

The Prime Minister had a Pride Parade to mince about in and was unavailable for comment.

Pride parades now look and feel more like a victory march over a conquered people than a scrappy revolt for rights.

Pride Month seems to come round quicker and quicker each year. Every June, we are subjected to the colours of the rainbow being injected into every aspect of our lives. Businesses change their logos for the occasion. Your bank will fire out emails to breathlessly reassure you that it doesn’t care who you do or don’t sleep with. Pride parades erupt across every town and city, big or small, in Europe, making the high streets temporarily unusable.

Trudeau’s participation was always meant as an insult to Canadians who didn’t share his obvious taste for perversion.

MORGAN: DEI still dominates hiring in Carney’s government

Canada employs 357,000 people in the federal civil service. While the nation is enjoying scarcity of everything from health care services to housing, the one thing we don’t lack for is bureaucrats. The Public Health Agency alone has 4,211 employees within it.

Despite this embarrassment of riches when it comes to available, qualified bureaucrats, the Government of Canada has appointed as President of the Public Health Agency a person who appears to be wholly unqualified for such an important position.

Why would they do this?

CSIS flags extremist Khalistani activists as national security threat

Canada’s spy agency is warning that a small but militant group of Sikhs are using the country as a base for promoting, fundraising and planning violence in India in support of an independent homeland in Punjab, a caution some see as a sign of shifting policies toward New Delhi.

In its annual report to Parliament in June, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service said these homegrown extremists represent only a small group among Sikhs who are otherwise pursuing non-violent advocacy for a state they call Khalistan.

The spy agency says the presence of Sikh extremists in Canada “continues to pose a national security threat to Canada and Canadian interests,” without pointing to any specific examples. It’s the first time CSIS has highlighted Khalistani extremists in its annual report since 2018.

The Liberal Government ran cover for the Sikh Extremists.

Liberals agree to change language in a report on terror to avoid singling out Sikh extremism

Friday evening, hours before Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to visit one of the biggest Sikh temples in Canada, his government agreed to change the language in a report on terror to no longer explicitly mention Sikh extremism.

The 2018 Public Report on the Terrorism Threat to Canada released in December drew ire from Canada’s Sikh community for talking about Sikh extremism for the first time as one of the top five extremist threats in Canada.

Is your restaurant halal?

Dos Mas Tacos opened recently next to Spitalfields Market, one of London’s trendiest and busiest areas. Two beef birria tacos cost £11.50; two mushroom vegano are £10.50; a ‘can-o-water’ is £2.50.

But look a little closer at their menu, and something jumps out: no pork and no alcohol. You’d expect a carnitas option at a taqueria, and you’d want a Corona with it. You can’t get either at Dos Mas Tacos. Huh? Or maybe hmm.

Dear New York Jews as a citizen of Toronto, all I can say is: Welcome to the club.

I assume many of you woke up this morning to news that Zohran Mamdani has won the Democratic primary, and will be running in the November New York City mayoral election.

You have my sympathies.

And though that election is still several months off, and Mamdani will be running against, among others, the incumbent Mayor Adams (running as an independent after leaving the Democratic party in April), the polls suggest that Mamdani has a solid chance of becoming New York’s 111th mayor.

Steep rise in hate toward South Asians in Canada documented through social media posts says left wing extremist Soros funded anti-free speech org

Canada has seen a steep rise in hate toward South Asians on social media in recent years, with a large spike occurring during the recent federal election — especially aimed at former NDP leader Jagmeet Singh, according to a new report.

The report, titled “The Rise of Anti-South Asian Hate in Canada” and published by the U.K.-based Institute for Strategic Dialogue, used the social media monitoring tool Brandwatch to analyze posts that mention Canadian cities and regions and South Asians on X.

Between May and December 2023, they found 1,163 posts containing explicitly hateful keywords toward South Asians. During the same period in 2024, that number rose to 16,884 — an increase of more than 1,350 per cent.

Note that the Soros funded so called “Institute For Strategic Dialogue” is notorious for its dubious reports and is really just a front designed to criminalize dissent.

Carney’s media are a font of lies.
