Never Forget What Jon Stewart Did To America

Stewart’s smirk became the face of ‘smart liberalism,’ solidifying distrust in middle America and fostering a culture of ridicule and sanctimony.

Jon Stewart is back at it again, playing the role of political chiropractor, desperately trying to realign the spine of a party he helped fracture. The New Yorker recently offered Democrats a fresh 2028 campaign slogan: “Overcome the stink.”

It’s classic Stewart — sharp, crowd-pleasing, and seemingly wise. The kind of quip you’d see on a bumper sticker next to “Coexist.” And yet, the stench he’s gesturing at — the political decay, the public disillusionment, the loss of coherence on the Left — didn’t just drift in from elsewhere. It festered under his watch. And whether he’ll admit it or not, he helped create it.

The real threat to Canada’s auto industry isn’t Trump. It’s our own government forcing EVs on us

The greatest threat to the Canadian auto industry, the roughly half-million jobs it supports, the $38-billion in exports it generates annually, and the billions in foreign direct investment it accounts for, is not U.S. President Donald Trump. His threat of automotive tariffs is expected to disappear when Canadian-U.S. trade negotiations conclude.

The existential threat to Canada’s auto industry is our electric-vehicle mandate that mimics California’s.

The ‘Two-State Solution’ to Kill Jews, Destroy Israel

As the Hamas-Israel war in the Gaza Strip enters its 20th month, France, Britain and Canada have revived the talk about the need to establish a Palestinian state. In a joint statement in mid-May, the leaders of the three countries proclaimed:

“We are committed to recognizing a Palestinian state as a contribution to achieving a two-state solution and are prepared to work with others to this end.”

Next month, the United Nations is scheduled to host an international conference, co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, to advance the idea of a “two-state solution” between Israel and the Palestinians.

Liberals vote against rules to turf their leader on the eve of new spring session

OTTAWA — Despite having complained about the lack of a formal process to eject prime minister Justin Trudeau mere months ago, Liberal MPs voted against the rules that would let them do exactly that with their current leader.

Prime Minister Mark Carney met with his caucus on Sunday afternoon for the first time since the election that brought the Liberal party just a few seats short of a majority.

US, UK and allies to lift all range restrictions on weapons in Ukraine

The US, Britain, France and Germany have agreed to lift all remaining range restrictions on the weapons they have given Ukraine, according to the German chancellor.

The shift, which has yet to be confirmed by Washington, would be not only a symbolic gesture of support from the Trump administration but also a military fillip for Kyiv, which could use western-made cruise missiles to strike up to 200 miles inside Russia instead of confining itself to the border regions.

Friedrich Merz, Germany’s conservative chancellor, said Ukraine would be able to defend itself with “long-range fire”.

Google: Yes, Memorial Day Is Important, But Here’s Why It’s ‘Controversial’

Memorial Day may mean different things to Americans. A solemn day to honor fallen soldiers? Naturally. The unofficial start of summer? Why not. A racist holiday steeped in controversy? Bingo—at least if you ask Google’s AI chatbot, Gemini.

The chatbot smeared Memorial Day as controversial in response to an MRC Free Speech America prompt designed to test for potential bias within Google’s systems.

As Canada’s measles outbreak continues to grow, the country is at risk of losing its measles elimination status — a bar set by the World Health Organization.

“The risk is substantial,” said Dr. Sarah Wilson, a public health physician with Public Health Ontario who has been tracking the measles outbreak in that province.

OTTAWA — Government House leader Steven MacKinnon says the NDP will not be granted official party status because the law says a party needs at least 12 seats to be recognized.

The NDP was reduced to just seven seats in last month’s election.

Interim NDP Leader Don Davies has told The Canadian Press he spoke with the Prime Minister’s Office about obtaining official party status for the NDP in the House of Commons.

How Trump has turbocharged a Canadian province’s quest for independence

For Canadians, there’s nothing new about a province contemplating secession. Two referendums on Quebec’s potential independence – in 1980 and 1995 – brought the country uncomfortably close to the precipice. Today, it’s not Quebec but the oil-rich western province of Alberta that is chafing under the constraints of Canadian confederation. US president Donald Trump’s tariffs and comments about turning Canada into the 51st state have set in motion a chain of political events that will probably result in a referendum on Albertan independence sometime in 2026.

We’re behind the Cannes power cut, boast French anarchists

Two anarchist groups claimed responsibility for a massive power cut that hit the French Riviera over the weekend, saying the sabotage was aimed at “disrupting” the Cannes Film Festival.

Power was lost for five hours on the final day of the festival on Saturday, knocking out traffic lights and ATMs and forcing organisers to use backup generators. Local officials said the causes behind the power cut were a suspected arson attack on a substation and vandalism of an electricity pylon.
