Islamists are ‘weaponising’ claims of Islamophobia to shut down debate on hijabs, report finds

Islamists are “weaponising” claims of Islamophobia to shut down debate on head scarves and veils, a think tank has found.

A new report by Policy Exchange suggests that freedom and debate to discuss Islamic head scarves and face coverings is being denied by Islamic extremists.

The comments were made in a report by Sir John Jenkins, who spent 35 years in the British Diplomatic Service and was a former Ambassador to Burma, Syria, Iraq, Libya and Saudi Arabia, as well as HM Consul-General in Jerusalem and Special Representative to the National Transitional Council.

Gill twins, mother charged with fraud over Inuit ancestry claims

Nadya and Amira Gill race scammers

The Iqaluit RCMP have charged Amira and Nadya Gill as well as their mother, Karima Manji, with two counts of fraud after they allegedly falsely claimed to have Inuit ancestry.

The Ontario twins made headlines earlier this year after Nunatsiaq News reported that Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. — the organization in Nunavut that, among other things, checks claims of Inuit ancestry — was investigating allegations of fraud.

The consensus that mass migration makes us richer has been shattered

It will replenish a labour force depleted by an ageing population. It will generate lots of extra tax revenue for the Government and stop debt from spiralling out of control. And it will inject some much needed dynamism into a business culture that would otherwise stagnate. For the last two decades, there has been a suffocating consensus that higher immigration is vital for the economy. Anyone who argued otherwise was ignoring the evidence.
But hold on. A major paper published this week punctures that notion, arguing against the idea that changing demographics will be ruinous to certain countries. This ought to trigger a grown-up debate about immigration – and perhaps an admission that, while it may have plenty of benefits, it won’t necessarily always make us richer.

Feds Just Putting on a ‘Show’ in Calling Out Grocers, Says Economist

The federal government’s threats against Canada’s big grocers is a “dog and pony show” to appease voters, says Concordia University economist Moshe Lander.

Voter pressure is on to lower food prices and the Liberals are slipping in the polls, so the government wants to look like it’s doing something, Mr. Lander told The Epoch Times.

Gangs and inmates evicted from ‘self-run’ Venezuelan prison

A Venezuelan prison run by its inmates like a small town, complete with a zoo, a disco and a swimming pool, has been cleared out by government authorities in an operation involving 11,000 security personnel.

The Tocorón prison, about two hours outside the capital, Caracas, has for years been what local aid organisations euphemistically called “self-run” — meaning that gangs, rather than the prison guards, were in charge.

Absolute bat shit, insane behaviour: Canadians lambast Justin Trudeau after he expells top Indian diplomat, accuses Indian agencies of killing Khalistani terrorist Nijjar

Hours after Justin Trudeau falsely accused the Indian government of killing a Khalistani terrorist named Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian soil, his countrymen slammed him on social media for hurting ties with India.

Journalist Daniel Bordman was shocked at the shenanigans of the Canadian Prime Minister and his decision to expel a top Indian diplomat from the country.

They haven’t called Canada a state sponsor of terror, but it’s close

Just an FYI – Earlier I posted that CBC’s usual reliable sources like Katie Telford are claiming that “Canada has Indian diplomats’ communications in bombshell murder probe: sources”

It’s got some laughable clangers like this one: “Canadian sources say that, when pressed behind closed doors, no Indian official has denied the bombshell allegation at the core of this case — that there is evidence to suggest Indian government involvement in the assassination of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil.”

CBC ran with the Russia Collusion hoax for years so you know they have excellent “sources.”

I don’t doubt India did OFF Nijjar, and they don’t care what Junior thinks about it.

Junior has to answer why Canada became a haven for the terrorists he obviously favours.

Biden repeats same story word-for-word just minutes apart, raising fresh concerns about age, fitness for office

President Biden showed his age at a campaign reception in Manhattan Wednesday — repeating statements about the 2017 Charlottesville riot and his decision to run for president in 2020 minutes apart and nearly word-for-word.

During remarks at the gathering hosted by billionaire real estate heiress Amy Goldman Fowler, the 80-year-old president recounted how he was enjoying retirement after two terms as Barack Obama’s vice president when “along came, in August of 2017, Charlottesville, Virginia.

‘Panic and rash decision-making’: ex-Bud Light staff on one of the biggest boycotts in US history

When Anheuser-Busch InBev, the multinational beer company, promoted Alissa Heinerscheid to vice-president of marketing for Bud Light in July 2022, she became the first female VP in the beer’s 40-year history. “It’s just old white men,” says one former employee of the company leadership. “That’s why we were excited to at least have Alissa in that role.”

In a March 2023 interview with the lifestyle podcast Make Yourself At Home, Heinerscheid spoke of her remit. “I had a really clear job to do when I took over Bud Light, and it was: ‘This brand is in decline, it’s been in a decline for a really long time, and if we do not attract young drinkers to come and drink this brand, there will be no future for Bud Light.’” Part of that involved updating the marketing to be “lighter, brighter” and more inclusive. “Bud Light had […] a brand of fratty, kind of out-of-touch humor,” Heinerscheid said

How bad could the Canada-India dispute get?

Expelling foreign diplomats from a host country is a first and serious step in expressing a government’s displeasure with another, but the impacts of escalating tension could eventually trickle down to their people, experts say.

After the tit-for-tat expulsion of diplomats from Ottawa and New Delhi this week, India on Wednesday warned its citizens against travelling to Canada and cautioned Indian international students be vigilant due to “growing anti-India activities” and “hate crimes and criminal violence” in this country.

Junior will get his butt kicked. It appears our delusional PM hoped to embarrass Modi for maximum deflection from domestic woes and establish himself as some sort of international heavy weight.

He’ll soon find himself longing for the days when gender language was all he cared about.

Trudeau declines to offer more evidence on Indian accusations

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declined to offer more evidence to support his startling allegation that the Indian government was behind the murder of a Canadian, but said the decision to come forward was not taken lightly.

Trudeau was at the United Nations on Wednesday and Thursday, where he gave speeches on climate change and the war in Ukraine. On Monday, he stood in the House of Commons and said Canada had “credible allegations,” that Indian government agents were involved in the death of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Sikh community leader in Surrey, B.C.

When Demand for Victims Outpaces the Supply

There’s real money in fake hate crimes.

Hasan Minhaj – Lying Racist

The Italians have a classic aphorism: Se non è vero, è ben trovato. Even if it is not true, it is well conceived.

This has evidently become comedian Hasan Minhaj’s personal credo, as he has recently been caught fabricating incidents of racial discrimination (he’s a Muslim of Indian descent) for both his stand-up comedy bits and his former television show Patriot Act.

Mexican cartels are fifth-largest employers in the country, study finds

Organised crime groups in Mexico have about 175,000 members – making them the fifth-biggest employer in the country, according to new research published in the journal Science.

Using a decade of data on homicides, missing persons and incarcerations, as well as information about interactions between rival factions, the paper published on Thursday mathematically modeled overall cartel membership, and how levels of violence would respond to a range of policies.

The authors argue that the best way to reduce the bloodshed would be to cut cartel recruitment – whereas locking up more members would actually increase the murder rate.
