Communist China’s 5th Columnists claim credit for helping Chairman Chow win Toronto mayoralty … Spokeslackey plays race card

As Olivia Chow campaigned successfully to become Toronto’s new mayor, she received some unsolicited help from controversial sources.

Two prominent community groups aligned with the Chinese government — including one that allegedly hosted a Chinese police station in Ontario — “went all out” to support Chow’s push to be mayor, supplying numerous volunteers to the effort, a letter from one of the groups claims.

This should invalidate the election.

As NATO firms up military spending target, Canada is trying to broaden what counts: sources

Canada has quietly and consistently lobbied major NATO allies for months to expand the definition of what it can include under the military alliance’s defence spending benchmark, defence and government sources have told CBC News.

The notion of being able to include what the country spends on space, cyber and artificial intelligence (AI) research has been an important topic of conversation, particularly with the United States, said two sources with knowledge of the discussions.

CBC News is not identifying the sources because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

Tow No! The Ford F-150 Lightning Struggled in Our Towing Test

Before you hitch an Airstream to your electric truck and set out to circumnavigate the country, you need to understand this: With the largest available battery pack, a fully charged 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck has less energy onboard than a regular F-150 with four gallons of gas in its tank.

Consider how far a combustion-powered F-150 would tow at max capacity on four gallons of regular unleaded. Thirty five miles? Maybe 40 if you drive slowly?

The video below was the first to let the world know of the very limited capacity of the Lightning as a daily driver work truck.

Canada’s billions to Stellantis and Volkswagen make for a bad joke

There’s an old joke about corporatocracy that goes something like this: “Canada is a handful of companies in a trench coat.” If that one doesn’t have you howling in your seat, there’s an addendum: “That we subsidize.” Is it funny yet?

The latest iteration of the joke pertains to multinational automakers Volkswagen and Stellantis. In recent weeks, the latter threatened to pack up shop on its EV battery plant in Windsor, Ont. – and halted construction to drive home the point. That after the federal government and Ontario promised more than $13-billion in capital and tax credits to Volkswagen for a larger factory. As a result, both levels of government scrambled to strike a deal with Stellantis, which was revealed last week to be worth $15-billion.

Scorn of Liberal Movie Critics Fails to Deter Audiences from Turning ‘Sound of Freedom’ into Summer’s Surprise Hit

Critics in the liberal media hate it. Hollywood is stunned. Audiences, however, can’t seem to get enough of this summer’s most unlikely box office hit, “Sound of Freedom.”

The film stars Jim Caviezel, who played Jesus in Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ,” as a former federal agent, Tim Ballard, on a quest to save children from sex traffickers. The tale, based on a true story, takes Mr. Ballard into the seamier corners of Latin America, where he declares, “God’s children are not for sale.”
