NDP MP fails bid for official condemnation of Tucker Carlson’s ‘invade Canada’ rant

An NDP MP has failed in his bid to convince the House of Commons to drop what they’re doing in order to condemn the “invade Canada” bombasts of a Fox News host.

I’m good with that.

‘Stalin Again Will be Looking Over Our Shoulder When We Write’: Senator on Bill C-11

New Brunswick Sen. David Adams Richards says he is concerned that the federal government’s proposed internet regulation bill, which is currently being debated in the Senate, will bring about a culture of censorship of Canadians.

“This law will be one of scapegoating all those who do not fit into what our bureaucrats think Canada should be,” Richards said in the Senate on Jan. 31 during the third reading of Bill C-11, also known as the Online Streaming Act.

“Stalin again will be looking over our shoulder when we write.”

Yea but it’ll be the Stupid Stalin.

Joe Biden puts America First on electric vehicles

Joe Biden – He ain’t in charge of anything except Window Licking

The president’s green protectionism is freezing out his allies

A trade war is brewing between the United States and its closest allies. When Thierry Breton, the EU’s internal markets commissioner, pulled out of a summit with US officials just before Christmas, he complained that the agenda ‘no longer gives sufficient space to issues of concern to many European industry ministers and businesses’. A few days before, Emmanuel Macron cornered senator Joe Manchin in Washington DC. ‘You’re hurting my country’, the French president told Manchin. The senator was given a similarly frosty reception at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where Germany’s Olaf Scholz and Luxembourg’s Xavier Bettel accosted him caustically.

The Europeans are upset about Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), written by Manchin’s office, which commits $370 billion (£300 billion) to clean energy projects based in North America.

Head of Kyiv tax authority accused of multimillion-dollar fraud

Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s crackdown on corruption has continued as the woman leading the Kyiv tax authority was accused of massive fraud after a raid of one of her four homes, and a series of national officials were forced from office.

The residence of the businessman Igor Kolomoisky, a former political ally of Ukraine’s president, was also raided as part of an investigation into the suspected evasion of customs duties linked to the Ukrainian oil producer Ukrnafta and refiner Ukrtatnafta.

The media empire owned by Kolomoisky, who is already under US sanctions for his alleged involvement in “significant corruption”, helped popularise Zelenskiy as an entertainer and then supported his political career. Kolomoisky has denied any wrongdoing.

World Economic Forum’s select group of buffoons is here to save the world

John Kerry Ass Faced Hypocrite

In the worldview of the elites gathered in Davos this January for the World Economic Forum’s 2023 meeting , the world’s crises call “for bold collective action.” Of the ongoing crises calling for such action, climate change unsurprisingly made the top of the list.

“While a global energy transition is under way, further action is needed to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate the effects of climate change,” read an overview page for the event.

Prescriptions include “decoupling economic growth from energy consumption” and “mainstreaming breakthrough technological innovations and addressing equity,” as well as using other crises “to develop more ambitious, comprehensive, and sustainable infrastructure investment plans that [help] the world to meet the 2030 targets.”

5 Black Cops and Walking — No, Running — in Memphis

Our society does Black Americans no favors by reacting to each of these tragedies by screaming “Racism!”

OK with you, the reader, if I have a different take on the Tyre Nichols killing in Memphis?

First, for the record: the guy sustained a criminally wrongful death, and the family should sue and collect a bundle from that wonderful liberal city that has had only one Republican mayor in the past 55 years. In 2020, Memphis had the second-worst crime record in the United States and was beaten only by Detroit. By the following year, Memphis had improved to being the No. 1 most dangerous city in America. Go Grizzlies! According to more recent FBI data, the total crime rate in Memphis is 237 percent higher than the national rate and 150 percent higher than the state’s crime rate.

The EU officially puts bugs on the menu

Crickets and mealworm larvae have been approved for human consumption

Last week, the European Union ruled that the maggot-like larvae of lesser mealworms — a type of shiny black beetle — and house crickets (in partially defatted powder form) may be used in the production of several foods, including pizza and pasta-based products, bread, crackers and breadsticks, meat preparations and soups, snacks and sauces, biscuits, chocolate confectionery and even beer-like beverages. This means that EU citizens may soon find themselves eating bugs without even knowing it. Sure, the regulation states that foods containing insects must be labelled, but just how flashy those labels turn out to be remains to be seen. More importantly, should we care?

Interesting read, neither pro nor anti bug.

The real climate crisis is sinister ideology

IT IS easy to get bogged down in the technical detail of the climate debate. But science can distract us from the fact that before climate change, environmentalists made exactly the same kind of predictions that now drive arguments for draconian climate policies. The gloomy predictions of civilisation’s imminent collapse made by environmentalists in the 1970s came to nothing – the world population grew larger, wealthier, healthier and safer. This should alert us to the fact that, whether or not ‘climate change is real’, environmentalism is a radical political ideology, bent on reorganising the world, whatever the facts are. It is not merely a response to scientific discovery about our relationship with the natural world.

San Fran: $5 million in reparations for Black residents not enough

The eye-rolling taking place across much of the country after a San Francisco advisory committee recommended five million dollar reparation payments for qualifying Black residents has truly been something to behold. The ludicrous amounts of money being discussed for residents of a state that never adopted slavery seem to be yet another symptom of a progressive movement that has simply lost its mind.

World Hijab Day Celebrates Islamic Rape Culture

“If she was in her room, in her home, in her Hijab, no problem would have occurred.”

Today, Feb 1 is World Hijab Day. The annual Islamist event commemorates the return of the Ayatollah Khomeini and the beginning of the mandatory ‘Hijabization’ of women in Iran.

While women in Iran are risking their lives to remove their hijabs, facing arrests, beatings and even death, the media in this country, much like the media in Iran, continues promoting the hijab.

The origins of the hijab are ugly and you won’t hear about them on World Hijab Day.

Devout born-again Christian mother sues her four-year-old son’s school in first case of its kind in UK for ‘making him take part in LGBT parade’

A devout Christian who claims her four-year-old son was compelled to take part in an LGBT pride parade is suing the school – in the first case of its kind in the UK.

The school sent a letter to parents on 19 June inviting them to partake in a Pride march and ‘celebrate the differences that make them and their family special.’

Rex Murphy: Goodness, gracious, Ottawa survived Jordan Peterson

It’s a pleasure and a cheer to be able to start a piece with some good news. As of Tuesday morning having duly scanned the various news services I may report that Ottawa is still standing. The nation’s capital is still the unscarred and tranquil repository of all that is good and sweet that it always has been despite Dr. Jordan Peterson’s having been allowed within its precincts, despite too, being allowed to speak to thousands of Canadians who wanted to hear him.

Trudeau’s Hateful Hijabi fears backlash over next week’s comments about Canadians

Canada’s new anti-Islamophobia representative apologizes for comments about Quebecers

OTTAWA – Canada’s new special representative on combating Islamophobia says she is sorry that her words have hurt Quebecers.

Amira Elghawaby apologized in English before a meeting today with Bloc Quebecois Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet.

She says she is “extremely sorry” for the way her words have carried and how they hurt the people of Quebec, and that she will listen carefully and that’s what dialogue is all about.

She’s a liar and she ain’t “Canada’s” anything. Just a cheap bit of vote whoring by Trudeau.
