Controversial Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King claimed he needed a pricey guard dog for 24/7 security for his family due to the barrage of threats from white supremacists, who he alleges have tried to break into his home and harass his children.

On Tuesday, King wrote in a lengthy Facebook post about what his ‘life has become.’

‘I spend more time each day now thinking about how to keep my family safe than I do doing the actually work I’m called to do,’ he wrote. ‘⁣So know this, when you see reports about the money it costs to keep me and my family safe, it’s nowhere near enough. Not at all. Not even close.⁣’

Russia brands Ukraine’s Azov Regiment ‘terrorist’ group

Russia’s Supreme Court on Tuesday declared the Ukrainian Azov Regiment a terrorist organization.

Despite its checkered past, the Azov Regiment is hailed in Ukraine as heroes for fighting to defend the country’s embattled east against the Russian invasion.

An estimated 1,000 Azov soldiers are being held by Russia and Moscow’s allied forces in eastern Ukraine.

“Unprecedented” Live Fire & Blockade Drills After Pelosi Leaves Taiwan

On Wednesday, the Chinese military continued a series of massive exercises in the vicinity of Taiwan. The Chinese state media called them “joint blockade training,” AND Magazine reports.

The suggestion from the naming is that they would cut Taiwan off from the rest of the world by air and sea. The state media, China Global Times, makes that point clear in an article. They mention that Nancy Pelosi allegedly “violated China’s sovereignty” with her visit.

They then say this:

The exercises are unprecedented as the PLA conventional missiles are expected to fly over the island of Taiwan for the first time, the PLA forces will enter the area within 12 nautical miles of the island, and the so-called median line will cease to exist, experts said, noting that by surrounding Taiwan entirely, the PLA is completely blockading the island demonstrating the Chinese mainland’s absolute control over the Taiwan question.

Biden’s cough returns on fourth day of COVID ‘rebound’ battle

President Biden’s doctor reported the return of a “loose” cough Tuesday on the fourth day of Biden’s COVID-19 “rebound” infection.

South African police arrest more than 120 after gang-rape of eight women

Dozens of men detained after the alleged gang-rape of eight women on a music video shoot in South Africa are expected back in court on Wednesday as police made more arrests of artisanal miners blamed by local people for widespread violence.

The arrests on Tuesday near Krugersdorp, a city north-west of Johannesburg, bring the total number of people detained since the attack to more than 120.

Russian soldiers accuse superiors of jailing them for refusing to fight

A group of Russian soldiers have accused their commanders of jailing them in eastern Ukraine for refusing to take part in the war, in a rare public exposure of tensions inside the ranks of Russia’s army over the invasion.

Maxim Grebenyuk, a lawyer who runs the Moscow-based advocacy organisation Military Ombudsman, said at least four Russian soldiers had filed written complaints with the investigative committee, demanding punishment for the superiors who oversaw their detainment.

“We already have a list of 70 Russian soldiers who were held as prisoners. In total, about 140 soldiers were held,” added Grebenyuk, who represented the soldiers.

A few days ago my wife and I brought her mother, who was suffering from a serious leg infection, to the local ER. We were worried about the possibility of gangrene, which an acquaintance some years back had contracted under similar circumstances, resulting in the amputation of his leg. As expected, the ER was jam-packed, and it soon became clear that my mother-in-law would have to wait at least six and even twelve hours before she could be seen. No triage had been performed to determine rank of urgency. Meanwhile, a youngish man in a wheelchair, doubled over and clutching his chest, was bitterly complaining that he had suffered a heart attack. But he too would have to wait before being attended to — assuming he would still be alive by then.

‘Help, my dad shot me! I’m dying,’ Sarah could be heard in a 911 call she managed to make after she was shot. Investigators said Amina was killed instantly.

China’s war games amount to ‘sea and air blockade’ of Taiwan

China’s unprecedented war games set to encircle Taiwan amount to a “sea and air blockade” of the island, Taipei said on Wednesday.

Some of Beijing’s planned military exercises will take place within Taiwan’s 12 nautical mile sea and air territory, according to the defence ministry.

China’s plans come after House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi became the highest-level US visit to Taiwan in 25 years when she touched down on Tuesday.
