The former Manitoba senator who chaired the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada says there’s a “deep hole” in the apology issued by Pope Francis Monday for the role Catholics played in Canada’s residential school system.
Murray Sinclair says the historic apology, although meaningful to many residential school survivors and their families, fell short of Call to Action 58 in the final report.
It specifically called on the Pope to issue an apology “for the Roman Catholic Church’s role in the spiritual, cultural, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis children in Catholic-run residential schools.”

The attack took place on Sunday morning around 8 am at Kaimana Beach in Waikiki on the island of O’ahu.
The female swimmer, who was not identified, is about 20 feet into the water when suddenly the monk seal emerges and starts to attack.

Florida rapper shot dead in front of home after daring critics to confront him
Florida rapper Rollie Bands was gunned down outside his Tampa apartment complex Friday minutes after he dared his critics to confront him at his house in an Instagram post.
“A lot of these n****s know where I live at fr,” the rapper wrote on his Instagram Story, according to HipHopDX. “I sleep in peace. If a n***a want smoke I’m at my crib in 5 mins.”
Just five minutes after his post, at around 3:30 p.m., the rapper was shot once in the parking lot of his apartment complex. He was rushed to an area hospital, but couldn’t be saved.
