Afghan women will have to wear the Islamic face veil for the first time in decades under a decree passed by the country’s ruling Taliban militants.
Any woman who refuses to comply and ignores official warnings to male members of her family could see a male guardian jailed for three days.
The Taliban enforced the all-encompassing burka during their first stint in power in the 1990s.
But they had not enforced it in Afghan cities since taking over last year.
I’ve lost count of the number of articles touting this kinder gentler Taliban since Biden handed back Afghanistan.

The annual military parade in Moscow’s Red Square has a new significance this year, as Russian forces continue their two-month assault in Ukraine. As tanks roll through the city streets, speculation is intensifying over President Vladimir Putin’s next move.
Fighter jets and bombers roared over Moscow earlier this week.
It was just a rehearsal – for a grand military parade and flypast to mark Victory Day.
The ninth of May is one of the most important holidays in the Russian calendar and on Monday there’ll be military processions all over the country to commemorate the Soviet Victory over Nazi Germany in 1945. As always, flags flutter from almost every building and shop windows are decorated with golden stars.

A former senior Ontario government spokeswoman said she was fired from her job within minutes of being outed as a convoy protest donor, even though she was a loyal soldier for the government.
Marion Isabeau Ringuette claims she was wrongfully axed as director of communications for Ontario’s solicitor general for Premier Doug Ford’s “personal political gain” — allowing him to show public opposition to the convoy — in a lawsuit against Ford, his chief of staff, the Ontario government, Toronto Star Newspapers Limited and two journalists.
Good.

The Doug Ford campaign kicked off on Wednesday evening at the Toronto Congress Centre, where a few hundred PC supporters assembled — but a few journalists, Rebel News included, were denied entry.
That’s just sad.

Twenty minutes into Thursday’s debate between five of the six candidates for the Conservative party leadership, Scott Aitchison appealed for calm and seriousness.
“If we can’t go out and speak to Canadians in all parts of the country and make sure that we are trustworthy, that we don’t scare them … every time I hear a Conservative talk about some conspiracy theory, I realize that there’s another group of swing voters in the [Greater Toronto Area] that just are not going to come our way,” Aitchison said.
“Because all we do is yell and scream at each other. We’re witnessing it now.”
Honestly this reads like a lament from CBC’ that Charest got his butt kicked.

Protests on Sunday are a part of a so-called “week of action.” Ruth Sent Us has also published the justices’ supposed home addresses online for the radical protestors to locate and therefore intimidate the justices.

At the first 2022 Conservative Party leadership debate, although a lot of attention went to Pierre Poilievre for his skillful takedown of Jean Charest, Dr. Leslyn Lewis also made a big impact by demonstrating that she can land solid punches on the debate stage.
It has been a growing trend with Dr. Lewis since her 2020 leadership run where she has felt less rehearsed and artificial in interviews, and been willing to directly call out the legacy media for perpetuating fake news. Now we see she is even willing to get into scrapes over contentious issues on the debate stage when she sees the truth as having been obscured.
Although there is a lot of crossover between those who support Dr. Lewis and Poilievre, it was important at this debate for Lewis to decisively differentiate herself, and she did that on both the Freedom Convoy and social issues.

This is what sticks in my craw: billions of our taxpayer dollars being sent to fuel a war in which the U.S. has no national security interest. Even Obama said as much in 2016. All that money to buy weapons and pay the salaries and pensions of corrupt Ukrainian government officials. And to fight disinformation? While our own cities are decaying and millions of Americans are out of work? Are you kidding me? All for another proxy war to weaken Russia. And to fill the coffers of the Deep State war machine. And all the while, the Washington bureaucrats and their lapdogs in the media spout their lies and talking points as if they were Gospel. This war should be called “The Great American Propaganda War.”

Canada’s big oil companies are making record profits this year and should be using some of that extra cash to invest in things that curb their greenhouse gas emissions, Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault said Thursday.

Is there any corner of our government bureaucracy that isn’t overrun with woke, partisan operatives seeking to enact their political agendas? I think we all know the answer to that, and the latest example comes via the FTC moving to “investigate” Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter on…anti-trust grounds?
This comes after Democrats and their media allies have spent the last few weeks absolutely losing their minds over the fact that conservatives might have a single platform that doesn’t bias their policies against them.

A Department of National Defence (DND) advisory panel has recommended barring individuals from the military chaplaincy whose organized religion’s beliefs do not align with the department’s equality and social justice values.
The Minister of National Defence Advisory Panel on Systemic Racism and Discrimination’s Final Report for January 2022 reads that “(i)t is necessary to recognize that for some Canadians religion can be a source of suffering and generational trauma. This is especially true for many lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and two-spirited members of Canadian society.”
The panel’s first of four recommendations – contained beneath the heading of “Re-Defining Chaplaincy” – is blunt.
“Do not consider for employment as spiritual guides or multi-faith representatives Chaplaincy applicants affiliated with religious groups whose values are not aligned with those of the Defence Team.”

Disney announced with pride their plans to fund 10 organizations that are based in advocacy and education around LGBTQ issues, specifically for children and teens. Among these groups receiving funding is GLSEN, which pushes gender identity and LGBTQ curriculum to schools in the US.
GLSEN provides resources for educators toward “developing LGBTQ-inclusive classroom resources,” that “promote safer school environments” by “developing lessons that avoid bias and that include positive representations of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people, history, and events.”

Freeland has a long history with Soros. In 2012, she wrote a print interview with the billionaire, which in many ways was a fluff piece that analyzed how Soros is able to predict winners and losers of global conflicts, notably China.
This article was published on ForeignPolicy.com which lists Freeland as “editor of Thomson Reuters Digital, working on a biography of George Soros and is author of Plutocrats: The Rise of the New Global Super Rich and the Fall of Everyone Else.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said Friday on ABC’s “The View” that interracial marriage and gay marriage are in jeopardy because Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito‘s legal reasoning in a leaked draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade.
