The south Indian cinema wars have erupted again in Canada.

How Canada could retaliate if tariff-like U.S. electric car policy goes ahead

A new U.S. government plan that would offer tax credits for electric vehicles and batteries made by unionized labour in the United States puts Canada in a difficult position, according to both Canadian environmentalists and trade experts.

Part of the “Build Back Better” plan passed by Congress at the end of last week, it gets a thumbs up from many battling climate change on both sides of the border.

Offering an effective $12,500 US subsidy if American residents buy an electric vehicle rather than one with a traditional engine, the move is considered a positive step toward coaxing gas-powered vehicles — and their emissions — out of the market.

Trudeau does not want electric cars built in Canada any more than he wants pipelines.  He’s determined to sacrifice your well being to support his eco-fantasy.

FUREY: Read what the kids’ vaccine approval actually says — it’s not a ringing endorsement

This week, the country is set to embark on the roll-out of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for kids in the 5-11 age bracket. It’s looking like this may sadly be one of the more tense and divided parts of the pandemic response to date.

Anti-vaxxers in child immunization disputes with co-parents likely to lose in court: B.C. lawyer

VANCOUVER –  With children as young as five now eligible for vaccination against COVID-19, there are likely heated disputes brewing between parents with differing views – and some may eventually end up in a courtroom.

But dragging a fight over childhood immunization before a judge is unlikely to end well for anti-vaccine parents, according to B.C. lawyer Martina Milau, who dealt with a number of similar vaccine battles prior to the pandemic.

If the Vaccines Work, Why Aren’t They Working?

In the movie Moneyball, Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane queries his team of scouts when discussing a prospective player, “If he’s a good hitter, why doesn’t he hit good?” The scouts all have solid explanations, at least in their minds, of why a prospect might be a good hitter, from the sound of the crack of the bat when they hit the ball to the player’s good looks.

These explain why the player should be a good hitter, but what if the numbers, from batting average to on-base percentage, tell a different story? The question Billy poses is obvious in its simplicity, good hitters should hit good. And if they don’t, then perhaps they are not really good hitters.

What if we ask the same question about COVID vaccines, rephrased as “If the vaccines work, why aren’t they working?”

The Corrupt Media Did Not Fall For The Russia Collusion Hoax. They Were Part Of It

Soon after Special Counsel John Durham indicted Igor Danchenko, the “Primary Sub-Source” of the Steele dossier, on five counts of lying to the FBI, the press paused to feign a moment of public introspection. The corrupt media’s attempt to frame their failings as mere confirmation bias, however, holds no truer than the Russia-collusion hoax they peddled for five years.

When Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison called last year for an investigation into the origins of COVID-19, China retaliated with tariffs. Domestically, a cohort of Beijing-friendly former ambassadors, foreign and defense ministers, and state premiers dutifully reminded the public that China’s status as Australia’s biggest trading partner makes antagonizing the regime a risky business.
