‘It buys a whole lot of candy’: New York City mayor to pay children $100 to get Covid jab

Children aged five to 11 will be eligible for the one-off incentive when vaccinations are opened up to primary school children next week.

It marks an expansion of a previous policy brought in in July, when New York began offering a $100 reward to adults after the number of people wanting jabs began to slow.

“Good news, kids are eligible for the $100 vaccine incentive,” Mr de Blasio told a press conference on Thursday.

‘Where does this all end?’: High fuel and food costs here for a while, experts warn

Maritimers are seeing a slight decrease at the gas pumps this week, with prices dropping by about 2.3¢ per litre.

But with fuel prices hitting record highs recently and food costs climbing, people are still feeling the strain.

Alberta unveils plan it hopes will make it a hydrogen export superpower

The Alberta government has released its road map to reach a goal of becoming a world leader in hydrogen exports by the end of the decade.

Premier Jason Kenney says Alberta is well-positioned with its existing energy infrastructure to become a global supplier of choice for hydrogen.

And he calls it a “game changer” in the climate change fight, given that hydrogen emits no greenhouse gases when burned.

Everything that burns emits water vapor, the principal GHG.

Is Justin Trudeau At War With His Own Country?

In terms of Canadian politics, six years of witnessing the behaviour of Justin Trudeau as prime minister is enough to make a citizen’s head spin. His decision making has ranged from the baffling to the absurd, and back to baffling again.

Why Are the Media Treating ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ Like Criminal Hate Speech?

9 Truths From Aaron Rodgers’ Explosive Vaxx Interview You Aren’t Allowed To Say

You don’t have to like Aaron Rodgers to pump your fist when he drops COVID truth bombs on a hit sports talk show.

Sesame Street Is Literally Teaming With CNN To Promote The Covid Vaccine To Children

This is truly disturbing.

It doesn’t matter that the drug is experimental for children. It doesn’t matter that children are at almost no risk from Covid.

They have to get the jab in order to satisfy the will of CNN’s totally legit doctor Sanjay Gupta.

Renewables are making Europe energy-poor

With the recent rise in the price of natural gas in Europe to five times where it was earlier this year, expect to see many more Europeans, including Brits, plunged into “energy poverty” — too poor to pay their utility bills on time and/or keep their homes adequately warm. Why is not hard to grasp: from Greece to Great Britain and everywhere in between, the European electricity grid is increasingly de-linked from reliable, affordable fossil fuels and hooked up to more expensive and intermittent wind and solar projects. When wind and solar are not available, Europeans and others end up chasing the same supplies of oil, natural gas and coal, pushing their prices dramatically higher.

The Battle for Taiwan

Seventy-two years ago, the Communist Party seized control of China after a bloody struggle. The defeated Nationalist government fled to Taiwan, frustrating Beijing’s desire to capture the island. Since then, China has arisen as a superpower rivaling America; Taiwan has blossomed into a self-governing democracy and high-tech powerhouse with Washington’s backing. Now, after decades of tenuous stalemate, there is a renewed risk of conflict. While it is impossible to know how this long rivalry will play out, in some respects the battle for Taiwan is already underway.

As Reuters reported in December, the Chinese military – the People’s Liberation Army – is waging so-called gray-zone warfare against Taiwan. This consists of an almost daily campaign of intimidating military exercises, patrols and surveillance that falls just short of armed conflict. Since that report, the campaign has intensified, with Beijing stepping up the number of warplanes it is sending into the airspace around Taiwan. China has also used sand dredgers to swarm Taiwan’s outlying islands.

Two Cancúns collide as masked gunmen storm Yucatán beach

Fifty years ago, Cancún was little more than a hurricane-battered fishing outpost, but it mushroomed into a tourist mecca thanks to massive government investment – and by the 1980s it was firmly established as the crown jewel of Mexico’s tourist industry.

Millions of tourists from around the world descend annually on the destination and the Riviera Maya, which unfolds to the south.

But success has brought other, less welcome visitors, too. Criminal groups run extortion rackets and peddle drugs. And its location on the eastern side of the Yucatán peninsula makes an ideal way station for drug runners moving cocaine out of Central and South America.

I have never held a desire to visit the narco-state.

The Big Truth: Election 2020 Really Was Rigged

Mollie Hemingway has written a blockbuster book about all the strands of deception and falsehoods that converged to take down Donald Trump on Nov. 3 and 4 and beyond (and before), in her book: Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech and the Democrats Seized Our Elections (Regnery, 2021).  I twice asked two Barnes and Noble stores in two weeks whether they had it in stock, and each time — no. So I finally had to order it online.  It has ten chapters, plus a prologue and an epilogue. The total number of endnotes is 1,243 (I added them up), many having extensive commentaries. Only a large and excellent team of researchers could put together a book like this, and she credits them by name in her acknowledgments.

Hemingway’s conclusion: It is clear that the Dem Party have followed a pattern of cheating, inch by inch, for a long time.

The great climate change fallacy

The hysterical headlines are based on an unlikely scenario

We are “quite literally” in the “last chance saloon,” says Prince Charles. Humanity is “about 5-1 down at half-time,” says Boris Johnson. People will curse this generation of politicians worse than they did that which appeased Hitler, says Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, because they are allowing “a genocide on an infinitely greater scale”.

‘Pathological Self-Hatred’ of Western Elites Silences Debate on Immigration and Environment: Mark Krikorian

…Immigrants come specifically to increase their carbon footprint. And I don’t mean [anybody’s] saying, ‘Boy, I’m gonna increase my carbon footprint.’ What they’re doing is they want to come and have a decent house, and maybe be able to own a car and have a more prosperous life, which translates inevitably into increasing their carbon footprint.

If you’re a peasant farmer in Honduras, you’re not having much of an impact on the environment. If you’re living in a modern society, even as a lower-middle-class working stiff, you’re having a hugely greater impact on the environment.

That was not controversial in the past, when the population issue was mainly a matter of domestic fertility—in other words, when most population growth was driven by Americans having kids, then it was okay to be concerned about population growth on the Left, because that was, in a sense, a way of being anti-American.

Prosecution Plans to Depict Rittenhouse Attacker as ‘Hero’ Turns Out to Be a Problem.

Prosecutors arguing to put Kyle Rittenhouse in prison for the rest of his life tipped their hand on how they plan to do that in the fourth day of testimony on Friday. Questions abound, however, about its relevance and admissibility in court.

Rittenhouse could spend life in prison for killing two men, Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, and wounding a third, Gaige Grosskreutz, during the Kenosha, Wisconsin riots on August 25, 2020. Rittenhouse claims self-defense in all three shootings, parts of which were recorded or live-streamed. Prosecutors even shared clips from FBI surveillance recordings from a fixed wing spy plane flying above the melee.

How the French establishment betrayed Samuel Paty

The brutal Islamist beheading of a school teacher, one year on.

In a quiet suburb of Paris, in broad daylight, 47-year-old teacher Samuel Paty was decapitated. His murderer, Abdullah Anzarov, posted a picture of the severed head on social media, with a message from ‘Abdullah, the servant of Allah’ addressed to ‘Macron, leader of the infidels’. ‘I executed one of your hellhounds who dared to belittle Muhammad’, Anzarov boasted.

Paty had shown his pupils some cartoons of Muhammad in a class discussion on freedom of expression. Hearing of the story, a girl at the school claimed she was in the room, and that Paty had asked the Muslim pupils to leave. This particular detail was a lie. But it was this version of events that attracted the attention of Islamists and which then led Paty’s life to be brutally, violently extinguished.

Trans activists force BBC to remove quote from porn star who ‘called for lynching’ of trans women

Trans activists force BBC to change article saying lesbians are being pressured into sex with trans women to remove quote from porn star who ‘called for lynching’ of trans women

… Ms Cade had reportedly called for the ‘lynching’ of high-profile trans women and called them ‘vile, weak and disgusting’ on her website, which has been down since Wednesday.

She had said: ‘I need the mothers on my side. I’m on the side of the breeders. I’m on the side of the children. F*** feelings. I care about the emotional and physical well-being of the future generations, not some spoiled little f*** of the easiest, stupidest, path of least resistance society that has ever existed’s bulls*** delusions.

‘No woman should ever pity a weak man. Tear your f***ing blinders off, b****, what the f*** is wrong with you? Your pity rewards weak men for their weakness. You have sacrificed your children’s futures on the altar of that pity.’

Babies born to moms with COVID-19 when pregnant should be watched for long-term impacts, researchers say

A COVID-19 infection during pregnancy can leave an imprint on the fetus, according to a growing body of research, though it’s unclear whether that effect is long-lasting.

Two studies published last month show that the disease, particularly when it’s severe, can affect the immune activity at the time of birth and that boys may be affected differently than girls.

It’s far too early to know whether babies exposed to COVID-19 during pregnancy will be any different from those born without that exposure, said Dr. Andrea Edlow, a maternal-medicine specialist at Massachusetts General Hospital, who helped lead one of the studies.

Now watch the narrative gradually shift to vaccinated mothers. “You probably had Covid but were asymptomatic because you were fully vaccinated.”
