Children’s viruses that disappeared during pandemic lockdowns are back, doctors say

As children emerge from their homes after COVID-19-related lockdowns, common viruses that all but disappeared during the pandemic are re-emerging too, doctors say.

“This time of year in pediatric hospitals, it’s usually quiet,” said Dr. Fatima Kakkar, a pediatric infectious diseases specialist at CHU Sainte-Justine in Montreal. “But now we’re seeing a surge of respiratory infections.”

The level of non-COVID illnesses is what Kakkar usually sees in the fall, she said, when children are out and about in daycares or schools.

Kids should be outside eating dirt.

Marxists Stand Together: Official BLM Organization Issues Statement Supporting Cuba’s Communist Dictatorship

Is anyone really surprised?

As I’ve been writing about, we are seeing a rise of Marxism & Communism in Canada.

Much of it is being done under various guises, as Communists generally hide their true agenda and operate under different names that are more innocuous to the public.

Yet, there are times when the agenda and the infiltration of Marxists into our society is brought right out in the open.

Communism Solved Racism in Cuba, 1619 Project Founder Claimed

Brave freedom fighters in Cuba have taken to the streets, demanding the end of the country’s communist dictatorship. Just two years ago, however, Nikole Hannah-Jones, founder of The New York Times‘s “1619 Project,” praised Cuba’s communist revolution for bringing about “the end of codified racism.” Democrats like President Joe Biden may offer lip service in support of the protesters, but many on the Left have cheered on the oppression.

Tucker Carlson: Joe Biden Using Military to Fly Illegal Aliens to U.S.

Nancy and Paul Pelosi Making Millions in Stock Trades in Companies She Actively Regulates

The sector in which the Pelosis most frequently buy and sell stocks is, by far, the Silicon Valley tech industry. Close to 75% of the Pelosis’ stock trading over the last two years has been in Big Tech: more than $33 million worth of trading. That has happened as major legislation is pending before the House, controlled by the Committees Pelosi oversees, which could radically reshape the industry and laws that govern the very companies in which she and her husband most aggressively trade.

Almost Four Decades After Its Birth, The Diversity Industry Thrives on Its Own Failures

Campus diversity advocates have pulled off their greatest coup to date: They have declared “diversity” to be a freestanding academic discipline, thus injecting their bureaucracy-heavy apparatus into the very heart of the academic enterprise. As of this month, Bentley University, a business-oriented liberal arts school in Waltham, Mass., will offer a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Sciences degree in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). By all accounts, this is the first undergraduate major dedicated to churning out more diversity bureaucrats and consultants. It will not be the last.

Going All In – The NEA pledges to bring critical race theory to a public school near you.

On June 30, members of the National Education Association, the nation’s largest teachers’ union, voted to approve a plan to promote critical race theory in all 50 states. Union delegates representing 3 million public school employees approved funding for three separate items related to “increasing the implementation” of “critical race theory” in K-12 curricula; promoting critical race theory in 14,000 local school districts; and attacking opponents of critical race theory, including parent organizations and conservative research centers.

South Africa is on the brink

For the first time, people appear afraid for the future

The province of my birth is burning. Looters, using the excuse of the incarceration of former President Jacob Zuma, have laid an unimpeded trail of violence, arson, assault and damage across KwaZulu Natal, traditional home of the Zulu people.

Armed volunteers mount barricades at the entrances to my village while youngsters on trail bikes scout through the perimeter cane fields. There is no available food or fuel and the chat groups buzz with an incessant flood of posts about destroyed buildings, burnt cars and roaming mobs. The State is entirely absent.
