When Hitler wrote Mein Kampf (My Struggle) in 1925, he clearly described his intent to gain revenge, especially against France, for the Treaty of Versailles that ended World War I and imposed a host of humiliating limitations on Germany’s ability to regain its military might.
There was also no question that Hitler would do anything required for his National Socialist Party to replace the tottering democratic Weimar Republic with a Nazi dictatorship. And he left no doubt about his tragically murderous intentions toward the Jews.
A 350-pound, large-breasted man pummeled a diminutive woman (actually two women) in Gardena, Calif., over the weekend. Fortunately, the second beating was caught on video, leading to the suspect’s arrest.

ISLAMABAD – The Taliban seized a district in southern Afghanistan Friday without facing any resistance from Afghan government security forces, bringing to seven the number of districts the insurgents have overrun since the United States and its NATO allies began withdrawing their troops from the country a month ago.
Separately, an overnight roadside bombing of a vehicle in the national capital, Kabul, killed a young female Afghan television anchor and her mother, and wounded her sister. Mina Khairi was working for the Ariana News channel for the past three years, her employer said.

There are nine trans athletes hoping to compete at the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer. All of them — whether born male or female — are seeking spots on women’s teams (transgenderism is a non-issue in men’s sport).
Only one of the nine is assured a berth: New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard, now 43, who made her first lift in international women’s sport in March 2017, and will compete in the over-87 kilogram “women’s super-heavyweight” category, which is scheduled for Aug. 2.

At some point, the US Congress stopped legislating and handed over most “rulemaking” governing Americans’ lives to the administrative state’s sprawling bureaucracy. The brainchild of progressive President Woodrow Wilson, the modern administrative state is rooted in a disdain for the messy give-and-take of politics and a preference for rule by an enlightened clerisy.

Hamas’s claim that it “won” the last war with Israel has become the subject of ridicule and mockery by many Arabs who are not afraid to call out the Iranian-backed terrorist group for lying to the Palestinians and the rest of the world.
The Arabs are also not afraid to hold Hamas responsible for the massive destruction and the loss of the lives of innocent Palestinians and Israelis in order to serve the interests of its masters in Iran.

In the conservative world, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is really tearin’ it up.
And Saturday, he tore into Critical Race Theory.

Texas has joined a coalition of what is now 25 states urging the U.S. Supreme Court to repeal a New Jersey law banning the possession of firearms with magazines that hold more than 10 bullets, arguing the prohibition violates the Second Amendment and puts law-abiding citizens less able to defend themselves against dangerous criminals.
Lawmakers are interested in a classified report which allegedly supports the theory the Chinese coronavirus originated from Wuhan’s Lab of Virology.
“I think a lot of us think various oversight committees probably should have been made aware of [the report] a little bit sooner,” House Energy and Commerce Committee member Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-VA) told CNN.
“We want to get answers… because we think they have a bigger piece of the puzzle than we originally thought back in March,” Griffith added.

The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear a challenge to the requirement that only males can register for the military draft.
The order (pdf) suggests that only men will still be required to register under the Selective Service System.
A group called the National Coalition for Men, a men’s rights group, filed the challenge, arguing that the male-only draft amounts of unconstitutional discrimination on the basis of sex. The group highlighted the 2013 Department of Defense order that allowed women to serve in military combat roles.

Four members of a London, Ont., family who were struck and killed by a vehicle in the city’s northwest Sunday evening are believed to have been targeted because they were Muslim, the area’s police chief says.
“We believe this was an intentional act and that the victims of this horrific incident were targeted,” Chief Steve Williams told reporters Monday afternoon.
“We believe the victims were targeted because of their Islamic faith.”
More … A 20-year-old London man identified by police as Nathaniel Veltman is now in custody in connection with the attack.
… Restaurant patios will be limited to four people per table — with an exception for larger households — and non-essential retailers such as clothing and book stores will have a limit of 15 per cent customer capacity.
In a change from the original plan, that same restriction will apply to indoor religious services, including weddings and funerals.

The country has been shaken by the apparent gruesome discovery of the remains of 215 children found buried at a former British Columbia residential school.
There is nothing more devastating than the death of a child, and nothing more painful for Canadians than reconciling some of the past horrors of the country’s residential school system and treatment of First Nations more broadly.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The blob, captured on distant, fuzzy video by Navy pilots, seems to skitter just above the ocean waves at improbable speed, with no discernible means of propulsion or lift. “Oh my gosh, man,” one aviator says to another as they laugh at the oddity. “What … is it?”
Is it a bird? A plane? Super drone? An extraterrestrial something?
The U.S. government has been taking a hard look at unidentified flying objects like this one. A report summarizing what the U.S. knows about “unidentified aerial phenomena” — better known as UFOs — is expected to be made public this month.
