German or South Korean subs? Ottawa’s pick will hinge on economic windfall

Ottawa will favour the pitch that creates the most Canadian jobs when it decides whether to award a contract for a dozen new submarines to a German or a South Korean consortium, the government’s point person for military procurement says.

The comments from Liberal MP Stephen Fuhr highlight the Carney government’s attempts to build up the Canadian industrial base while ramping up defence spending to levels unprecedented in recent history.

Feds ‘looking at’ axing Chinese EV tariffs to ease canola tax

OTTAWA — On the same day the prime minister is set to meet Saskatchewan’s premier after his trade mission to China, Canada’s industry minister said opening the Canadian market to Chinese-made EVs isn’t off the table.

Speaking to reporters Tuesday morning outside of the Liberal cabinet meeting, Melanie Joly said loosening Canada’s restrictions to China’s electric vehicles has not been ruled out to ease punishing tariffs on Canadian canola.

Flooding the market with cheap Chinese EV’s to keep a Canola market open? What could go wrong?

I mean besides Trump eviscerating what’s left of Canada’s auto industry.

Who wins?

Trump sues ‘degenerate’ New York Times for $15B

President Donald Trump announced late Monday he was launching a $15 billion lawsuit against The New York Times in his latest attack on a major media company over its reporting and commentary on him.

The suit, filed in a Florida court, accuses the Times of being “a fullthroated mouthpiece of the Democrat Party” and cites a series of articles, including the paper’s front-page endorsement of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in the lead-up to the 2024 election.

Another 12-year-old boy is charged with murder. What has become of us in Toronto?

The 12-year-old boy is described as a youth. But a 12-year-old is still a child.

Typically, if attending school, in Grade 7.

But this 12-year-old is charged with second-degree murder and five violent robberies. And we don’t really know how to profile them, apart from the Youth Criminal Justice Act, which deems that anyone aged 12 or older can be charged with a criminal offence.

That child is the weaponized product of the Liberal-left’s war on western civilization.

The incident, which happened in February at a Shanghai branch of China’s biggest hotpot chain Haidilao, sparked widespread criticism after the 17-year-olds posted a video of their drunken act online.

Will Charlie Kirk’s death be a turning point for America?

From coast to coast, from left to right, from young to old, one profoundly troubling question now haunts Americans: Is last week’s assassination of the founder of the conservative Turning Point USA organization a turning point in American life?

A deeply unsettled country – unnerved by the toxic nature of political life, apprehensive about the changes wrought by the fury of the national discourse and shocked by the rifleshot that killed Charlie Kirk – approaches the new week with new anxiety.

If you ask the Demons of the Liberal-Left whether they will cease their murderous rage you will receive an honest answer. No.

Liberal Folk Hero Luigi Mangione has terrorism charges thrown out by judge

A judge has thrown out the top counts in Luigi Mangione’s state murder case – rejecting claims that the accused killer can be charged as a terrorist — in a huge blow to prosecutors.

In a ruling released Tuesday, Judge Gregory Carro tossed charges of murder in the first degree as an act of terrorism and murder in the second degree as a crime of terrorism against the 27-year-old Ivy League grad.

Trump: I would designate Antifa a terrorist organisation

Donald Trump will consider designating Antifa as a terror organisation as his administration cracks down on Left-wing groups accused of stirring up violence.

The US president said he would support proscribing the radical Left-wing network after Charlie Kirk was killed by a gunman accused of expressing anti-fascist views.

The conservative influencer and close friend of Mr Trump was killed by a single bullet fired by an assassin who lay in wait on a rooftop 130 metres from where he was hosting a rally at Utah Valley University last week.

I was taken aback when the “anti-Zionists” began frothing at the mouth while ripping down hostage posters. That was pure Weimar.

And here we are again with diseased liberals celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death and calling for the murder of his wife and children.

Designate antifa a terrorist organization President Trump, and the CBC too for good measure.

We knew he was a blue Liberal. But Mark Carney is alienating progressive voters

Carney speaks at a Muslim Brotherhood function

It’s a cliché in Canadian politics to say the Liberals campaign from the left and govern from the right. But the growing discrepancies between what Mark Carney said during the election and how he’s handling things six months into his prime ministership are leaving more and more progressive swing voters scratching their heads.

Sure, most Canadians assumed Carney would be to the right of his predecessor. He’s a blue Liberal. He hangs out in corporate board rooms. He looks like the epitome of the one per cent.
