GUNTER: Trudeau Liberals, BoC’s Macklem seem economically illiterate

It’s not that the Liberals’ record-high immigration is causing inflation, housing unaffordability and unemployment all by itself. Nor are the federal government’s two carbon taxes solely responsible for the rising cost of living. The Bank of Canada’s willingness to print money for the Trudeau government to spend and the bank’s string of interest rate hikes aren’t the only causes, either.

But you roll all of those together and you end up with an economic crisis the likes of which Canada has not seen since the early 1990s.

Dead-celebrity market worth US$2.25 billion

‘Deleb’ (as in dead celebrity) is a label used in show-business to describe a deceased star, celebrity, or artist whose estate continues to bring in the big bucks long after their death.

In 2013, it was reported by CBC that the ‘Deleb market’ was worth a whopping US$2.25 billion in annual licensing and revenues. Goodness knows how much the market would generate today – a decade later.

If Your Kid Can’t Read This, Thank a Teachers Union

Teachers insisted their jobs were not ‘essential.’ Now plenty of students feel that way too.

The 2022-2023 school year, close to 10 percent of nation’s K-12 students did not attend classes on the average day, The New York Times‘ David Leonhardt reported in his newsletter. A quarter of students are chronically absent. “That’s a vastly higher share than before COVID.”

The biggest reason truancy is on the rise, Leonhardt posits, “seems to be simply that students have fallen out of the habit of going to school every day.”

In Canada Teachers insist they are essential but teaching isn’t, unless it’s about changing your gender or learning to dress in drag.

The WEF and the Climate Cult: Colluding for a World-wide Welfare State

One should never underestimate the Left’s propensity for projecting its sins upon its victims; nor, when the Left does manage to admit the destructive effects of their regressive ideology, to proclaim these disastrous consequences as fundamental transformational and “liberation.” To avoid such a fraught misunderstanding, one must ever remember the Left perverts the purported rationale of every entity captured in their “long march” through the institutions.

To wit: The World Economic Forum (WEF).

From Kublai to Xi: Old and New Silk Road

Ten years ago, Chinese President Xi Jinping issued an “edict” to create a global network of infrastructure, commerce and communication initially labeled “One Belt One Road”.

Later dubbed “The New Silk Road,” the project reminded some of China’s 13th century Mongol Emperor Kublai Khan, who ordained the building of Xanadu, a vanity palace which the French call “une folie”.

Although similar in method by using an edict or “tughra” in the Mongolian language, Kublai’s vanity project is dwarfed by Xi’s folie, which is supposed to encompass every county on earth.

Vatican beatifies Polish family that sheltered Jews

The Vatican on Sunday beatified an entire family for the first time to honor it for giving shelter to Jews during World War II while Poland was under German occupation.

Jozef Ulma, 44, his pregnant wife Wiktoria, 31, and their children, all under 8 years of age, were killed by German police on March 24, 1944, after being betrayed to Nazi authorities for sheltering eight Jewish people in their attic. The eight Jews were also killed.

After the massacre at the Ulmas’ farmhouse, 24 Jews in the family’s hometown of Markowa in southeast Poland were murdered by their Polish neighbors.

Trudeau’s foreign students scam likely underestimates the cost of living for international students

Is Canada underestimating the cost of living for international students?

The Canadian government is likely severely underestimating the cost of living for international students when weighing if they can support themselves financially, a new survey suggests.

According to a recent survey by the Daily Bread food bank, which was released on Wednesday, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s estimated living expense used during the application process is nearly half of what a student in Toronto typically spends.

It’s just another leg of Trudeau’s mass immigration scam.

Why Does NPR Hate Democracy? Can’t Stand One Parent Started ‘Book Ban’ of Ibram X. Kendi

On Friday’s Morning Edition, NPR lamented the “surge” in book bans across America. Apparently, democracy works best in America when educators get to assign left-wing propaganda about how America is deeply racist, and no one objects. The headline on their website:

1 parent is responsible for a book ban in North Carolina

But even their summary undercut that assertion: “In a North Carolina school district newly controlled by Republicans, it took just one parent’s complaint to remove a book from the curriculum.”

From opinion polls to party faithful, Poilievre’s Conservatives are riding high. But is it too soon?

Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre appears to be in the pole position with an enviable lead over the governing Liberals in most public opinion polls and he commands near-total loyalty from the Tory base.

The party’s three-day policy convention, which ended Saturday, broke past attendance records with more than 2,500 delegates registered for the Quebec City love-in.

The party is flush with cash after eye-popping fundraising hauls in the first and second quarters of this year — funds that will allow the party brass to continue its expensive ad campaign touting Poilievre in this pre-writ period.

Two things in Poilievre’s favour – The Trudeau authored housing crisis and his prosperity killing environmental policy are not going away.

Trudeau Snubbed in India? No G20 Bilateral Meet, Just A ‘Pull Aside’. Here’s Why

NO BILATERAL MEETING: ANTI-INDIA ACTIVITIES OF EXTREMIST ELEMENTS IN CANADA CONCERNING, PM MODI TELLS TRUDEAU

As Trudeau headed to India for G20, addressing the media in Singapore, he had said he would raise the issue of “foreign interference” in internal affairs with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India has maintained that there has been no interference and that it has only raised concerns over Khalistani extremism being fostered in Canada. In the recent past, the Indian Mission has been threatened with death and targeted in several pro-Khalistan rallies in Canada.

However, there was no formal bilateral meeting between Modi and Trudeau.

The ‘Climate Emergency’ Is a Hoax

More than 1,600 scientists, including two Nobel laureates, have signed a declaration saying that “There is no climate emergency.” The declaration is unlikely to get any attention from the mainstream media, unfortunately, but it is important for people to know about: the mass climate hysteria and the destruction of the US economy in the name of climate change need to stop.

“Climate science should be less political, while climate policies should be more scientific,” states the declaration signed by the 1,609 scientists, including Nobel laureates John F. Clauser from the US and Ivar Giaever from Norway/US.
