Poilievre perceived to be more competent than Trudeau, national poll shows

FREDERICTON — Federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is seen as more competent and having better judgment than Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a new poll suggests, but the PM is perceived to be kinder and less extreme than his rival.

The Abacus Data poll, conducted from May 9-12, asked 2,500 respondents from across the country a series of questions about the two leaders, including who represents Canadian values well, who genuinely cares about making Canada better and whether Trudeau and Poilievre hide their true views to make them more acceptable.

A Catholic school board trustee in Waterloo, Ont., has resigned after weeks of controversy over her tweets, one of which said “the most dangerous creature on the planet is the white Christian male.”

Parents with children in the Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) told The Epoch Times that the actions of Trustee Wendy Ashby, and how the board leadership handled the matter, highlights problems in the system that won’t necessarily be fixed by her resignation.

Why Was an Ontario Public-School Teacher Allowed to Wear Giant Fake Breasts in Class?

Ontario’s Halton District School Board made international headlines in September 2022 after a series of viral videos showed a transgender shop teacher, Kayla Lemieux, wearing massive prosthetic breasts while operating a table saw.

Remarkably, Lemieux’s prosthesis didn’t break any school policies because the district simply lacked a professional dress code to begin with.

Privately, Stellantis warned Justin Trudeau it could pull out of multibillion-dollar EV deal if Ottawa doesn’t pay more

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was warned last month that auto giant Stellantis might scrap a $5-billion electric-vehicle battery factory in Windsor if Ottawa refused to match U.S.-style subsidies given to Volkswagen in St. Thomas, Ont., the Star has learned.

In a letter dated April 19, the heads of Stellantis and Korea-based LG Energy Solution — the two companies in a joint venture — told Trudeau the project was in jeopardy if he did not honour what the company says was a promise in writing to close the “competitive gap posed by the U.S. legislation.”

Stellantis upped the ante Monday in a high-stakes negotiation that has been going on for months behind closed doors and halted construction on the facility that’s supposed to open next year and employ 2,500 workers.

China’s war chest: Beijing’s ‘great wall of steel’ faces obstacles to military supremacy

Taiwan’s foreign minister says he is preparing for conflict with China. In an interview last month, Joseph Wu said that “we are taking the Chinese military threat very seriously” and named 2027 as the year to be concerned about.

As relations between China and the US spiral ever lower, many analysts are increasingly worried that a conflict could be on the horizon and that the relationship between Taiwan and the US will be an important factor in influencing if and when China attempts to annex the self-governing island.

Daniel Penny’s mistake was to resist mayhem

New York City seems like a gag that’s gone too far. “First, we’ll release all the criminals because too many black bodies are in prison! Then we’ll denounce the police as Nazis and refuse to prosecute any suspects they arrest. The city will be overrun with violent criminals — raping robbing, assaulting and killing at will… But if anyone steps up to protect the citizenry from the mayhem that’s been intentionally inflicted on them, well, gentleman, then we’ll prosecute the hell out of that douchebag.”

Diversity is our strength in Minnesota

… The Democrat Farmer-Labor Party (DFL), which is what we call Democrats here in Minnesota, fully embraced the Somali takeover of the Minneapolis party. Obviously, the partnership has its perks–when a group can steal hundreds of millions of dollars from the government without consequence, that is a bunch of free cash that can slosh into politics. Even just skimming a bit off the top works pretty well for the powers that be. Sure, much of the money goes straight into the pocket of the fraudsters, and some goes back to Somalia to fund terrorism, but the DFL does pretty well out of the deal.

Prosecutor ends probe of FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation with harsh criticism, but no new charges

WASHINGTON (AP) — A special prosecutor found that the FBI rushed into its investigation of ties between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and relied too much on raw and unconfirmed intelligence as he concluded a four-year probe that fell far short of the former president’s prediction that the “crime of the century” would be uncovered.

The report Monday from special counsel John Durham represents the long-awaited culmination of an investigation that Trump and allies had claimed would expose massive wrongdoing by law enforcement and intelligence officials. Instead, Durham’s investigation delivered underwhelming results, with prosecutors securing a guilty plea from a little-known FBI employee but losing the only two criminal cases they took to trial.

They shit on the nation and still won. Smeared and damaged Trump but the Deep State still won. The FBI will never live this down.

Twitter owner Elon Musk’s newly appointed World Economic Forum-tied CEO for the platform recently tried to corner him into committing to reinstalling some of the same Orwellian censorship structures of the old regime. Gee, what a shocker (sarcasm).

Twitter went from great to very shitty to less shitty and now it looks to be headed back to very shitty.
