Global Prospects: A German View

Is the world order heading for a tectonic shift? And, if yes, what will that shift be like?

These are the questions that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz posed in an article in the American magazine Foreign Affairs, published almost immediately after his lightning visit to China. The word that Scholz uses to describe the shift is “Zeitenwende” or “game-changer”, but the tone of the article is more in tune with Euro-pessimism of the kind expressed by French President Emmanuel Macron, reflecting the current Zeitgeist or “spirit of the time” in Western democracies.

Scholz speaks of a “multipolar” world order but does not say where his imaginary poles are located. He then proceeds to depict what could only be described as a one-and-a-half pole system in which the one pole is constituted by the United States as “the decisive power of the 21st century” with the European Union and the “Anglo-Saxon” world, that is to say, Great Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, plus Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan in tandem. Together they represent “liberal democratic capitalism.” The remaining half a pole is the People’s Republic of China, which Scholz regards as a successful example of “autocratic capitalism”.

Super Bowl Suppression: NFL, Phoenix Throw Free Speech For Loss

Any cities out there entertaining the idea of seeking a Super Bowl might want to reconsider. Businesses in Phoenix are being forced to surrender free speech rights to the all-powerful National Football League. The next Super Bowl will be hosted by the Phoenix suburb of Glendale, along with the loss of free speech for area businesses.

Bowing to the NFL’s directive, the entire downtown area of Phoenix has been designated as a “Special Promotional and Civic Event Area,” through Feb. 19. No resident or business in the city-imposed “clean zone” will be permitted to display temporary signage without the approval of the city, the NFL and the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee. The permission deadline for temporary messages was this past Thursday.

Maine School ‘Socially Transitioned’ 13-year-old Girl Without Her Parents Knowledge

The transgender cult is not only an assault on biology and objective reality, but it’s also an assault on children, families, and parents. There’s a reason why the radical left opposes the use of the word “groomer” when we discuss Drag Queen Story Hours, transgender closets, and porn in school libraries; it’s because the word is accurate. They don’t want us to believe that it’s happening, but it is.

Harvard/Harris: Two-Thirds of Voters Believe Social Media Engaged in Politically-Motivated Censorship and Demand Congressional Action

The December Harvard CAPS / Harris Poll is out this week and Mark Penn and his colleagues have some interesting results to share. Despite the refusal of many in the media to cover the Twitter files, nearly two-thirds of voters believe Twitter shadow-banned users and engaged in political censorship during the 2020 election. Seventy percent of voters want new national laws protecting users from corporate censorship.

This week, the media continued to fulfill that common view of a de facto state media by ignoring new evidence of FBI coordination in censorship targets with Twitter in the latest news blackout.

On Friday, Twitter released additional information showing that the FBI and CIA actively pushed for censorship, supplying lists of accounts to be suspended or banned.

Are Liberal Jewish groups really that crazy?

The “big red wave” never did materialize, but this much did happen – Republicans did win the House, prompting alarm among Liberals.

What it means, then, is that they don’t control EVERYTHING. The Senate, the White House, the schools, the Arts, entertainment, the media, all that and more belong to them.

But not the House of Representatives – so no wonder it’s got them frantic. To them, life is so unfair if they don’t get EVERYTHING they WANT.

It’s bad enough that far-left extremist groups such as the ADL are anti-white racists but to observers this is Jewicidal Madness.

It’s not the first time supporters of Israel have watched in bewilderment as the Kumbaya Kool-Aid drinkers have drunkenly engaged in Interfaith lunacy.

Raise a voice against the despicable Omar and you’ll be called a racist Islamophobe.

Psst … This may in part explain the silence in the face of growing anti-Semitism you’ve noted. People have grown alienated and confused.

Why the media ignored female black cop Melvina Bogard’s shooting of unarmed white man Ariel Roman

Late last month, Chicago Police Officer Melvina Bogard was acquitted of felony battery charges in the shooting of an unarmed man at a Chicago train station in 2020. While a handful of local media outlets reported on the story at the time, the case received far less attention than most in which a cop shoots a civilian.

Perhaps this has something to do with Bogard’s race — she is black and the shooting victim, Ariel Roman, is white. Whenever a white cop shoots and injures a black victim in the US, the media explodes with outrage, as journalists seek to prop up the narrative of systemic white supremacy and brutality within the police force. But there is far less appetite for the reverse scenario, even when that white victim isn’t armed, doesn’t appear to be a danger to police and is shot at close range.

‘One side or the other’: Coutts, Alta. still a village divided after convoy blockade

The sound of blaring horns that echoed through this village 10 months ago has been replaced by the steady hum of semi-trailer trucks filing through the border crossing between Alberta and the United States.

There is an undercurrent in the community of 250 people, belied by a smiley face on its water tower that suggests an ongoing division dating back to three weeks in late January, when a convoy of truckers and their supporters shut the border in protest of COVID-19 restrictions.

There was hope that time and community events over the year would provide healing

Great Britain: Multiculturalism and Islam Turn It Upside-Down

“Leicester has become the poster city for multicultural Britain, a place where the stunning number and size of the minorities – the 55 mosques, 18 Hindu temples, nine Sikh gurudwaras, two synagogues, two Buddhist centres and one Jain centre – are seen not as a recipe for conflict or a millstone around the city’s neck, but a badge of honour,” was how, in 2013, the British liberal newspaper The Independent celebrated the transformation of Britain’s tenth-largest city.

There are places in Europe that visited the future sooner than others: Malmö in Sweden, Trappes and Roubaix in France, Cologne in Germany, Molenbeek in Belgium, Leicester in England…

Uncle Sam’s open secret — American men are leaving the workforce in increasing numbers

In 2016, the American Enterprise Institute labour economist Nicholas Eberstadt published an important book called “Men Without Work.” Eberstadt’s book was basically about the evolution of the labour force participation rate among working-age males in the United States. In the years after the big war, close to 90 per cent of all American men were, at any given time, working or looking for work. At the time “Men Without Work” was published, the figure was more like 72 per cent. This week, with that number thrashing to keep its nose above 70 per cent, I learned that Eberstadt has published a “post-pandemic edition” of his volume with a new discussion of the problem.

Pierre Poilievre thinks he can win over new Canadians. Here’s how he plans to do it.

OTTAWA — A young Pierre Poilievre sits in front of a room of Conservative faithful and explains their party’s strategy for winning a majority mandate.

That hasn’t happened yet. It’s 2009 and while the Tories have won two federal elections, they’ve remained in minority territory for three years.

“We will win a majority if we appeal to naturally conservative-inclined voters and get them out to vote, and we turn small-c conservative immigrants into big-C Conservative voters,” the MP says in a video posted to the website of the Cable Public Affairs Channel.

“That’s the formula.”

Define present day CPC “Conservatism.” Is it any different from the LPC platform?

The new strategy is just the same old identity politics.

Look at the mess that has left us in.

Slain Idaho students talk mystery man hours before murder, footage shows

Kaylee Goncalves and Maddie Mogen, both 21, appeared on newly disclosed surveillance video that was purportedly taken on the morning of Nov. 13 in downtown Moscow, Idaho, according to Fox News.

The victims were wearing the same clothes they were seen in while patronizing a food truck on a Twitch livestream hours before they were murdered. They also reportedly appeared to be with the same man they were seen at the food truck with, who police have said is not a suspect.

The footage, which was reportedly provided to the outlet by the administrators of a Facebook group called “University of Idaho Murders – Case Discussion,” also contained audio.

Veterans minister says he doesn’t think they’ve told any veterans they should kill themselves lately … well probably not

Veterans minister says he thinks all assisted dying talks now known, but isn’t certain

Canada’s minister of veterans affairs says he isn’t sure whether there will be more cases of veterans discussing medical assistance in dying (MAID) with a Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) employee, but believes the four cases confirmed so far may be the extent of it.

Lawrence MacAulay is also acknowledging that his previous insistence that the first known case was an isolated incident was “not correct,” as more confirmed cases were later revealed and other veterans since have come forward with their own claims of similar discussions.
