Thanks to Rachel Carson’s unscientific claims about DDT in her 1962 book Silent Spring, the environmental movement against DDT began with blind stupidity. In 1972, the U.S. EPA banned DDT. Then in 2004, several countries decided to ban DDT at the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. Today, most arguments (and movements) against DDT can be traced back to the inspiration from this fallacious fear-mongering unscientific book and its claims on DDT.
Not only were Carson’s claims untrue, but they have also managed to cause the deaths of thousands across the globe during the last three decades by acting as an active ideological hurdle to employing DDT to kill the deadly mosquitoes.
A climate change infomercial released in 2010 by a prominent global warming activist organization depicts children being exploded for not agreeing to reduce their “carbon footprint”, as AGW (manmade global warming) skeptics are grotesquely blown up with innards and blood splattering everywhere, a frightening reminder of the fact that the environmental agenda is merely a veil for the hideous New World Order cult of death, and that the vehemently discredited and increasingly desperate global warming movement is resorting to increasingly extremist scare tactics.
It has been said that in the “progressive” mind, intentions matter far more than practical realities. Passion and commitment drive everything, and utopia shimmers on a distant horizon. Who can be against “saving the plant”? The journey may seem pleasant enough for a while, especially in advanced and basically well-run countries whose systems were built with “design margin,” robust enough to absorb some bad contingencies. But that can only carry a country – or a global economy – so far. They identified the shooter as 20-year-old Jonathan Douglas Sapirman of Greenwood. They say he did not have a criminal record as an adult but his juvenile record included a fight at school and a runaway incident. Officers say Sapirman had two rifles and a handgun, but only used one of the rifles. They say all guns were purchased legally.
The WHO is now referring to their proposed “Pandemic Treaty” as the Convention, Agreement or other International Instrument (CAII) on pandemic prevention preparedness, response and recovery.
For any major issue, we should have a written plan outlining the causes and the solutions. That plan should be discussed between experts on all sides of the issue in a public forum.
It is a huge mistake when dissenting voices are silenced or not responded to.
So here we are. Having previously passed Bill 21, effectively barring members of certain religious minorities from employment across much of the public sector, the government of Quebec has lately passed Bill 96. Amongst other charms, the law prohibits the use of any language but French in the province’s workplaces, large or small, public or private, provincially regulated or federal, in the enforcement of which the language police are now authorized to compel the production of any document, in whatever form, on whatever device, without a warrant.
That both these bills offend violently against the Charter of Rights and the Constitution of Canada (Bill 96 also purports to amend the Constitution, unilaterally, to declare Quebec a “nation” whose “common language” is French) is not even contested: The Legault government conceded as much when it inserted a provision in each bill invoking the notwithstanding clause, insulating it from the protection of not only the federal Charter but also Quebec’s own Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.
First, we had the Dutch farmers revolting against green policies of the Netherlands and making their voices, and tractors heard.
Then it began to spread across Europe to Italy.
Now, we have Spaniards joining the protests, as farmers across Spain are taking their farm equipment to the streets.
