Biden and Garland prepare to get abortion pills everywhere

Abortion pills are likely to become the next major front of the fight over reproductive health care in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

Republican-led states have been moving to limit or even completely ban access to the drugs, and advocates worry the Supreme Court’s decision will embolden even more states to crack down.

Immediately following the ruling, Attorney General Merrick Garland said the Justice Department will protect the right to an abortion, including medication abortion.

Rogue Agencies and the COVID Truth Seekers

On late Saturday night, we were woken up by a telephone call from Romania. I answered and quickly discovered that someone didn’t realize I wasn’t in the EU. They called again at 7:00 AM on Sunday morning – this time I didn’t answer. Again, a phone call from the same number midmorning. This time, I picked up the phone. The call was from a Romanian woman informing me that I needed to be very careful because she had evidence that the CIA was monitoring me (no surprise there) and that she herself was under surveillance and had at some point been subjected to a CIA rendition program. Not sure why a CIA person would be interested in capturing a Romanian woman or what evidence she could possibly have from Romania about me… but there it is. Her key point apparently was that the Nazis are still in charge, and that I need to be careful. I can certainly get behind the logic that my electronic communication and various travels are being monitored. I have had repeated advice (and agreement!) on that topic from a wide range of senior security professionals.

“President Joe Biden apparently unwittingly financed his son’s participation in an escort ring tied to Russia,” reports the Washington Examiner. That’s what “records from a copy of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop show.”

Documents on the laptop show that “Hunter Biden spent over $30,000 on escorts, many of whom were linked to ‘.ru’ Russian email addresses and worked with an ‘exclusive model agency’ called UberGFE during a 3 1/2 month period between November 2018 and March 2019.”

He was able to do this due “to Joe Biden committing to wiring him a total of $100,000 to help pay his bills from December 2018 through January 2019.” For example, “Joe Biden wired his son $5,000 while he was actively engaged with an UberGFE escort.”

Colorado Christian center burned in mostly peaceful fashion

In predictable fashion, the night after the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health was announced, the violence kicked off almost immediately. And in an equally predictable fashion, the majority of the mainstream media mostly ignored it. One of the more notable attacks (among many) took place at the Life Choices Christian crisis center for pregnant women in Longmont, Colorado. When police and firefighters arrived at the center after three o’clock in the morning, the building was already ablaze. The graffiti we’ve come to expect in these attacks was on display, proclaiming the usual messages pushed by Jane Sent Us. But in addition to that, the attackers decided to include the anarchy symbol (a capital letter “A” in a circle) on the walls and the sidewalk. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The Global Climate Agenda Suffers a Major Setback — But the Supreme Court Signals Worst is Yet to Come for Biden’s Green Energy Push

As America surged past a $5 national average for a gallon of gasoline, the Biden administration has proposed ethanol as a solution. The Environmental Protection Agency earlier waived a limitation on ethanol in gasoline blends due to its association with leading to more smog at higher temperatures.

But as Biden lauds the potential of ethanol and other biofuels, notably amidst a major surge in food prices, there are official studies that connect ethanol not only to more pollution, but also to higher carbon emissions.

The global environmental agenda is reflective of Western elites inventing a ‘first work problem’ that can be jettisoned at the first sign of trouble. It makes for a ‘holy cause’ that secular progressives can invoke at cocktail parties, before setting off in their gas-guzzling limousines on the way to their private jets.

When the green cause threatens the economic fortunes or political survival of elites, it becomes an easy thing to be jettisoned in favor of a more pragmatic approach. If there’s any real pain or need for sacrifice, the elites betray that they don’t really believe in the green agenda. The ruling class would behave much differently if they believed the fate of the world hung in the balance. It’s just a cynical means to their political ends.

Yet the worst may be yet to come for the Biden climate agenda. The Supreme Court is poised to hand down a decision that could negatively affect the authority of the EPA to regulate the ‘climate.’ That ruling could be handed down as soon as Monday.

State Attorney General Suggests Considering Applicants’ Ideological Viewpoints in Denying Carry Licenses

Friday, the day after the New York State Rifle & Pistol Ass’n v. Bruen Supreme Court decision, the California Attorney General wrote a letter to California law enforcement and government lawyers, expressing “the Attorney General’s view that the Court’s decision renders California’s ‘good cause’ standard to secure a permit to carry a concealed weapon in most public places unconstitutional.” California thus seems ready to promptly shift to a fundamentally shall-issue regime, in which pretty much all law-abiding adults can get licenses to carry concealed weapons. Nor will this require legislative action, I think; California already has a may-issue regime in place for licensing, so—as the AG’s office notes—licensing authorities (“sheriffs and chiefs of police”) can just use that regime but essentially without applying a good-cause requirement.

But the AG’s office concludes that the existing statutory requirement “that a public-carry license applicant provide proof of ‘good moral character’ remains constitutional,” and that this requirement isn’t limited to disqualifying felons, certain violent misdemeanants, and the like. And in particular the AG’s office suggests that people who hold certain ideological viewpoints should be disqualified.

Canada still faces its own disparities in abortion access and may struggle to act as a “safe haven” for Americans impacted by the overturning of Roe v. Wade, advocates north of the border say.

Although Canadian officials are promising to ensure abortion access and have committed some funding to that effort, experts say more needs to be done to reduce the stigma surrounding the procedure and incentivize provinces and territories to offer care.

One of the top posts in a socialist subreddit featured the addresses of Supreme Court justices that voted to overturn Roe v. Wade. The Reddit users in the anti-capitalist group discussed hunting down Supreme Court justices at their churches and possibly sending them mail bombs.

The alarming threats were made in r/WorkersStrikeBack – a self-described “leftist, anti-capitalist, socialist subreddit that is dedicated to support worker strikes, protests and unions all over the world, address the obvious problems related to an average worker’s workplace, offer advice to a fellow worker struggling with their workplace problems and mock or satirize any kind of anti-worker sentiment.”

Google Engineer Claims AI Chatbot Has Self-Awareness and Consciousness

According to Google engineer Blake Lemoine, an artificial intelligence (“AI”) chatbot application called LaMDA, short for Language Model for Dialogue Applications, has achieved sentience, or independent self-aware consciousness.

Google vice president Blaise Aguera y Arcas and Jen Gennai, head of Responsible Innovation, have dismissed Lemoine’s claims and placed him on paid administrative leave for breach of confidentiality.

Social media is full of posts this month by Canadian airlines celebrating pride. There’s a WestJet TikTok video showing a plane flying over a rainbow, Sunwing and Air Transat tweets promoting LGBTQ vacation hot spots and, on Instagram, Flair Airlines is wishing everyone “Happy Pride.”

But non-binary Canadians with travel plans feel excluded from those Pride celebrations.

Sudden Adult Death Syndrome baffles doctors

A strange new medical anomaly has doctors baffled as it sweeps across the country. Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) is on the rise, and it’s tragically claiming the lives of healthy young adults, sometimes in their sleep.

Essentially, people are dying without displaying any prior sign of illness. They simply do not wake up after going to bed, or collapse during the day.

Reports of SADS have been increasing in recent weeks. A news.com web piece explains that, ‘Sudden Adult Death Syndrome … is an umbrella term to describe unexpected deaths in young people, usually under 40, when a post-mortem can find no obvious cause of death.’
