LEVY: Toronto School Board paid $16,000 for an anti-racism activist to attack Israel

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) paid $16,000 for four learning sessions with self-described anti-racism activist Desmond Cole during which he attacked Israel using typical anti-Semitic tropes.

Despite an apology by education director Colleen Russell-Rawlins to concerned participants – mostly board principals – Cole was permitted to continue with his talks on Sept. 23 after the board brass was made aware of his hateful rhetoric during the first two talks on Sept. 20.

Everybody Hates the Jews

A disturbing new study confirms what many Jewish Americans are feeling.

Everybody hates the Jews. That’s the refrain from the brilliant satirist Tom Lehrer in “National Brotherhood Week,” a song that I had memorized by the time I was ten, given that I was raised by the kind of dad who made sure songs like “The Vatican Rag” and “Poisoning Pigeons in the Park” were the soundtrack to our lives.

Twitter makes it more difficult for its antisemitism partners like CAA to report racist tweets

Twitter has made it more difficult for its partners, including Campaign Against Antisemitism, to report racist hate on its platform.

Last summer, Twitter invited Campaign Against Antisemitism to become a ‘Twitter partner’, allowing us to report problematic material directly through the company’s ‘partner portal’ to Twitter personnel (rather than machines) for review. Following our experience to date, we recently published a damning report, which prompted major national media coverage, showing how Twitter fails to implement consistently its own policies on hate.

However, Twitter appears to have reacted by making it even harder for us and its other so-called ‘partners’ to report hateful material to the company, in two ways.

Media Ghosts of the Crown Heights Riot

It was an outbreak of anti-Semitic violence. You wouldn’t have known it from the media coverage.

Thirty years ago, anti-Semitic violence erupted in Crown Heights, a neighborhood of New York City, as an angry mob of largely black and Caribbean-American residents descended on Lubavitcher Hasidic homes, businesses, and individuals in retaliation for a traffic accident.

If you read the New York Times in the days that followed, you wouldn’t have known.

It wasn’t because the paper of record hadn’t covered the violence. They had. But their reporting and that of other influential papers at the time was entirely divorced from what we now know occurred, consistently overlooking or obscuring the anti-Semitic nature of the attacks.

Top Canadian Jewish Group ‘Shocked’ at Muslim Student Organization’s Invite to Speaker Who Expressed ‘Genocidal Antisemitism’

The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) described the invitation to cleric Tareq Al-Suwaidan by the Muslim Student Leadership conference, organized by the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC), as “shocking,” describing Al-Suwaidan as “a notorious extremist.”

Study by the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) finds there is no Muslim anti-semitism on any social media platform!

A ‘safe space for racists’: antisemitism report criticises social media giants

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and TikTok failing to act on most reported anti-Jewish posts, says study

There has been a serious and systemic failure to tackle antisemitism across the five biggest social media platforms, resulting in a “safe space for racists”, according to a new report.

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok failed to act on 84% of posts spreading anti-Jewish hatred and propaganda reported via the platforms’ official complaints system.

Researchers from the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), a UK/US non-profit organisation, flagged hundreds of antisemitic posts over a six-week period earlier this year. The posts, including Nazi, neo-Nazi and white supremacist content, received up to 7.3 million impressions.

Well this is an interesting study by the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH). Evidently there is no Muslim anti-semitism to be found on any social media platform!

In fact Muslim anti-semitism and the activity of the “Anti-Zionist” left have simply ceased to exist on all platforms!

It’s all Nazis all the time!

Isn’t it amazing!

Isn’t it convenient that this study came out so soon after Hamas launched rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza and all social media platforms boiled over with Islamist and leftist Jew hate?

Perhaps Imran Ahmed, CEO of CCDH, can explain that! Or maybe his pals at the Southern Poverty Law Center could.

Read the report.

Toronto Assault Highlights Trend of “Free Palestine” Antisemitism

TORONTO – A recent assault on a Jewish man near his home in broad daylight is just the latest in a disturbing trend of attacks on Jews stemming from anti-Israel sentiment.

On Wednesday morning, Sam Brody was walking his dog in the Midtown area of Toronto while wearing a kippah, or Jewish skullcap. A man who was passing Brody in the opposite direction suddenly pushed him to the ground and shouted: “F@ck you, you Jew – you’ll never take Israel, free Palestine!”.

The attacker was neither white nor Muslim says victim.

Marxist Support for Palestinian Terror Fuels Jew-Hate Throughout the West

Will those committed to Judeo-Christian values react before it’s too late?

London. May 23. An organization called The Palestinian Solidarity Campaign organized a protest against Israel. 180,000 people turned up. Placards compared Israelis to the Nazis, and black flags of jihadist movements, accompanied by cries of “Allahu Akbar”, fluttered alongside the Palestinian flags. “Israel, the new Nazi state“, some read; and “Nazis are still around, now they call themselves Zionists”. This kind of comparison is now common among many in Europe who also seem sympathetic to Marxism, in which there always has to be an “oppressor” and “oppressed”, never a “win-win” or a “making the pie bigger.” Do these new Marxists, who compare Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, to the Third Reich and the Zionists to the Nazis, really not know what the Nazis did to six million Jews, or what Communists and Marxists today, in China, Russia, Cuba, or Venezuela, are still doing to their own citizens?

Barbara Kay: ‘So many people hate you’: Documenting the U.K.’s burgeoning anti-Semitism

Barbara Kay: ‘So many people hate you’: Documenting the U.K.’s burgeoning anti-Semitism

In his new book, Tuvia Tenenbom portrays the U.K. as a population marbled top to bottom with a fat streak of Jew hatred

On Sunday July 18, the Church of England service will include a ceremony of “symbolic repentance” to mark the 800-year anniversary of the Synod of Oxford. The 1222 Synod set forth discriminatory laws for Jews, such as identifying badges and higher taxes. The gesture is especially significant in that the Church of England was only established in 1534. The Church is therefore apologizing for all Christian medieval anti-Semitism.

It’s an interesting article on an interesting book, be sure to read the comments.

It seems the long march through the institutions by our leftist friends has achieved another victory – widespread anti-Semitism of the “acceptable kind.”

I noticed something amiss after the recent Gaza troubles. The “anti-Zionists” are now much more open and public with their views.

If you ever wondered why Islamist anti-Semitism is tolerated you have only to look at the “ordinary people” profiled in this book. They share the identical views.

Disgraced ex-BBC journalist who said ‘Hitler was right’ ripped after blaming ‘pro-Israel mob’ for her sacking

A former BBC journalist who was sacked earlier this year after historic anti-Semitic content was found in her Twitter feed, has been condemned on social media for blaming the “pro-Israel mob” for her firing.

On Wednesday, Tala Halawa, a Palestinian journalist who was unceremoniously let go from the BBC in June, blasted the British broadcaster for her sacking and accused it of giving into the “pro-Israel mob.”

Church of England will apologise for the expulsion of Jews in the 13th Century – despite not being created until hundreds of years later

King Edward l

The Church of England is planning a symbolic service to apologise for the medieval expulsion of Jews 800 years ago.

Anglican leaders announced the plans at a meeting of the General Synod – the legislative body for the Church of England – in a bid to address the recent and ‘rapidly worsening anti-Semitism in the UK’.

Although the Church of England was not created until after the Reformation, leaders are planning a ‘symbolic repentance’ to sever ties with the historical role the English church played in fuelling anti-Semitism in the past.

Will American Jews Follow Their British Cousins in Repudiating Jew-Hatred?

There was an editorial last week in The Free Beacon positing that due to anti-Semitism within its ranks, the Democrat party will mimic the electoral defeat of England’s Labor Party, which is similarly plagued by anti-Semitism. The Ilhan Omar–Ocasio-Cortez–Tlaib trio, as well as many members of various Democrat congressional caucuses, are open enemies of Israel’s existence and redolent with anti-Semitic pejoratives. The Beacon’s theory is that just as Jeremy Corbyn’s Labor Party was shunned by Jews and many in the public, thereby losing the last election to the Tories, so will Democrats lose to Republicans in 2022. Nancy Pelosi in the House and Chuck Schumer in the Senate, though themselves not anti-Semitic or anti-Israel, continue to allow this anti-Semitism in their party, and Pelosi goes farther by publicly and proudly embracing the Squad and especially Omar.

Will it come to pass in North America? Not so sure about that.

Canada: Muslim Students Association demands that university ‘remove all pro-Zionist narrative’

The mere presence of Israel is an offense to Palestinians, which is why the Charter of every Palestinian political group demands that Israel be obliterated. A clever stream of deception clouds this fact, even while the aspiration to destroy Israel completely is included in the popular chant: “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free.” Canada is in a dangerous place, referencing as “racism” and “discrimination” anything offensive to Muslims, while at the same time, completely ignoring the real threat posed by the jihad — stealth and violent — everywhere. The big lie is that the MSA routinely (and carefully) claims that it is not anti-Semitic.

Jewish college students stunned to find hate coming from progressive peers

The most surprising thing about this story is that it was published by CNN. The story focuses on two Jewish college students, both of whom consider themselves progressives interested in a host of progressive causes. But both have also felt themselves excluded and even targeted for abuse when their progressive peers discover they are Jewish.

As Kathy used to say – They’re too stupid to really be Jewish.

British Jews’ fear and defiance amid record monthly anti-Semitism reports

A monthly record number of reports of anti-Semitic incidents were recorded following the 11-day conflict between Israel and the Palestinians in May, a charity says. So how does it feel to be Jewish in the UK?

Rabbi Nicky Liss had been preparing to give a midnight talk at a north London synagogue last month, when he began to feel nervous.

A rabbi of 13 years, he was used to giving speeches. This one, to mark the start of the Jewish festival of Shavuot on 16 May, should not, on the face of it, have been any different.

But that afternoon, events built to what he describes as a “crescendo”.
