Cops Held Two Innocent Boys at Gunpoint, Forced Them to Lie on the Ground, Handcuffed Them, and Searched Them. That’s Fine, the 8th Circuit Said.

On a rainy January evening in 2018, 14-year-old Weston Young and his 12-year-old brother, Haden, were walking home from their grandparents’ house in Springdale, Arkansas, after a family dinner. A police officer ordered them to stop, pointed a gun at them, forced them to lie on the ground, handcuffed them, and, together with a colleague, searched them. Their mother and stepfather tried to intervene, explaining who the boys were, where they had been, and where they were going. But the officer, Lamont Marzolf, rebuffed both of them, seemingly uninterested in information suggesting that he was treating two innocent boys like criminals.

‘Conflicted Congress’: Key findings from Insider’s five-month investigation into federal lawmakers’ personal finances

The nation is unabashedly polarized. Republicans and Democrats enjoy little goodwill and less commonality.

But in Washington, DC, a bipartisan phenomenon is thriving. Numerous members of Congress, both liberal and conservative, are united in their demonstrated indifference toward a law designed to quash corruption and curb conflicts-of-interest.

Julian Assange has a stroke in Belmarsh prison

Julian Assange has had a stroke in Belmarsh Prison, his fiancee Stella Moris revealed last night.

The WikiLeaks publisher, 50, who is being held on remand in the maximum-security jail while fighting extradition to America, was left with a drooping right eyelid, memory problems and signs of neurological damage.

He believes the mini-stroke was triggered by the stress of the ongoing US court action against him, and an overall decline in his health as he faces his third Christmas behind bars.

McAuliffe Campaign Now in More Trouble Over Accusations Involving Racist Tweets

Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe’s campaign just can’t seem to stop imploding.

I thought that McAuliffe saying, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach,” was basically the stake through the heart of his campaign.

But McAuliffe and his campaign haven’t stopped stepping in it ever since. All this has been having a big impact on the campaign with a new Fox poll finding the Youngkin is eight percent ahead of McAuliffe with likely voters after being in basically the opposite position just two weeks ago because Youngkin has burst ahead in the numbers and McAuliffe has collapsed.

Nation in ‘Energy Crisis,’ White House Adviser Says

“We see this as an energy crisis because this is not just natural gas prices that have been elevated, but crude oil is at very high levels at the moment … and gasoline prices in the United States today are at seven-year highs as natural gas peaks at the same time,” White House energy adviser Amos Hochstein remarked during a virtual event hosted by the International Energy Forum on Thursday. “So I think this is an energy crisis.”
