Chasing Utopian Energy: How I Wasted 20 Years of My Life

Utopian energy is an imagined form of energy that’s abundant, reliable, inexpensive, and also clean, renewable, and life-sustaining. But utopian energy is as much a fantasy as a utopian society. Seeking the fount of perfect energy allows us to pretend there aren’t real-world tradeoffs between, say, banning fossil fuels and helping people in impoverished nations or between using solar and wind power and conserving natural habitats.

The Global Climate Agenda Suffers a Major Setback — But the Supreme Court Signals Worst is Yet to Come for Biden’s Green Energy Push

As America surged past a $5 national average for a gallon of gasoline, the Biden administration has proposed ethanol as a solution. The Environmental Protection Agency earlier waived a limitation on ethanol in gasoline blends due to its association with leading to more smog at higher temperatures.

But as Biden lauds the potential of ethanol and other biofuels, notably amidst a major surge in food prices, there are official studies that connect ethanol not only to more pollution, but also to higher carbon emissions.

The global environmental agenda is reflective of Western elites inventing a ‘first work problem’ that can be jettisoned at the first sign of trouble. It makes for a ‘holy cause’ that secular progressives can invoke at cocktail parties, before setting off in their gas-guzzling limousines on the way to their private jets.

When the green cause threatens the economic fortunes or political survival of elites, it becomes an easy thing to be jettisoned in favor of a more pragmatic approach. If there’s any real pain or need for sacrifice, the elites betray that they don’t really believe in the green agenda. The ruling class would behave much differently if they believed the fate of the world hung in the balance. It’s just a cynical means to their political ends.

Yet the worst may be yet to come for the Biden climate agenda. The Supreme Court is poised to hand down a decision that could negatively affect the authority of the EPA to regulate the ‘climate.’ That ruling could be handed down as soon as Monday.

The Naked Truth about Energy Transitions

Energy sources have historically taken decades to transition from old methods to new technologies. Changes were driven by visionary entrepreneurs coupled with evolving public demand.

The transition from horses and buggies to automobiles took 50 years. Even in that long time span, this evolution was not always beneficial to individuals or communities. There were pros and cons on both sides. “Before city dwellers complained about cars, smog, congestion, and the loss of public space, they railed against stinking, fly-ridden horse crap.”

The difference between the 19th century and the 21st century is that new energy technology slowly grew in popularity while capitalism fueled the desire for a better life. Now Americans are suffering during Biden’s presidential term, and the wounds are self-inflicted. Politicians and regulatory bureaucrats are purposely destroying our energy independence while pretending their policies have nothing to do with issues of inflation, shortages, and possible rationing. They are misdirecting blame to Putin and COVID-19, but they know better. Biden and his cohorts are deliberately weakening our country for what seems like a blend of Marxist-green ideology. They even think our pain is funny.

Calgary climate plan calls for foot travel and only zero-emission vehicles

Calgary’s newly published climate plan aims for all vehicles registered in the city by 2050 to have zero emissions and for 60% of residents to get around by “walking, wheeling or transit.”

The Calgary Climate Strategy Pathways to 2050 was submitted to Tuesday’s Community Development Committee.

One of its goals – to reach “zero carbon neighbourhoods” – predicts that “100% of all vehicles registered in Calgary (will be) zero emissions vehicles.”

“Electric vehicles are the leading technology for emissions reductions and cost savings, however there are other technology options that may become a greater opportunity in the future, such as hydrogen vehicles,” the report claims.

Scientists warn future temperatures will test humans’ ability to survive

Unbearably hot temperatures are already testing the limits of human survival, and will continue to rise, challenging our bodies’ ability to cope and making parts of the world increasingly uninhabitable.

Scientists say urgent steps are needed for humans to adapt to extreme heat, including rethinking the way we live, work and blast the AC.

“Extreme heat is going to get more problematic going forward, period,” said Professor Blair Feltmate, head of the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation at the University of Waterloo in Ontario.

The threat from the SEC’s global warming ‘disclosure’ rule

There is a concerning precedent emerging within conventional American politics that mistakenly asserts a direct correlation between functional results and incremental regulation exists. Reality shows instead that regulation does not provide the strategic blueprint required to formulate long-term solutions and radical innovation. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission groundbreaking proposed climate change disclosure rule does not reflect that lesson and misses the mark.

If passed, the 512-page proposal would mandate public companies to disclose an audited set of greenhouse gas emissions data from their direct operations, energy use, and value chain (i.e., Scope 1, 2, and 3, respectively). This proposal focuses on accounting exercises rather than strategic action and represents a cost burden as opposed to a solution that would reduce global emissions to the benefit of society.

Putin’s Useful Idiots: How U.S. Climate Extremists Are Funding Russia’s Agenda

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is illuminating an ugly truth: the anti-fracking war on America’s energy security is being waged by well-funded, radical U.S. environmental groups, as well as interests tied directly to Vladimir Putin. For years, the U.S. government has investigated Russian financial ties to environmental groups that push for ending U.S. fossil fuel production and have successfully shut down fracking sites and pipelines, to the detriment of U.S. workers and consumers.

The REAL Threat From the Pandemic Treaty That Most Are Completely Ignoring

There hasn’t been nearly enough attention being paid to the World Health Organization’s Pandemic Treaty. This is, of course, by design. They don’t want the world to pay any attention to it until it’s too late, and that may be the case already. That’s not to say we should give up and stop fighting. We should fight until it’s signed in hopes that it won’t be. We should fight after it’s signed in hopes of negating it. And we should be prepared to fight when they use it to come for us, because they will.

With zero coverage by corporate media, scant coverage on conservative media, and shockingly little coverage from alternative media (which I’ll discuss below), it’s clear that the New World Order’s goal of keeping people in the dark is being achieved. It’s my hope that by illuminating the most dangerous aspect of the treaty, we’ll be able to shake some patriots awake and get more attention paid to this existential threat.

As Canada boosts climate adaptation efforts, experts urge action on rising threats

Dozens of experts advising the government on adapting to climate change say Canada needs to do more to prepare infrastructure for the threats of extreme weather and get faster at helping Canadians recover from floods, fires and major storms.

Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault is set Monday to launch the second and last development phase for the national adaptation strategy that the Liberals promise will be ready by the end of the year.

Climate alarmists never satisfied

You would think that with Canadian taxpayers spending $100 billion fighting climate change — that’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s figure — we would at least get some credit for it from the global environmental movement.

Fat chance. A report last week by the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper which devotes enormous resources to covering climate change, condemns Canada, yet again, as one of the world’s worst climate offenders.
