Donald Trump couldn’t be clearer. He intends to abolish the Department of Education. He stated during the election campaign that “one thing I’ll be doing very early in the administration is closing up the Department of Education in Washington, DC, and sending all education … back to the states”.
Some are wondering why he would bother. Created 45 years ago in the dying days of Jimmy Carter’s administration, the Department is one of the smaller Cabinet-level federal agencies. With a mere four and half thousand employees, abolishing it will hardly drain the Washington swamp.
Government agencies should choose which research projects to fund based on merit, not ideology. But my investigation into U.S. Department of Education grants reveals that administrators prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) when evaluating grant applications. In some cases, reviewers considered the racial make-up of research personnel when assessing applicants’ qualifications.

Mississauga Mayor Carolyn Parrish is no stranger to contempt-signalling.
She’s called Americans “bastards,’’ referred to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq as a “coalition of idiots,’’ stomped on a George W. Bush doll and was kicked out of the Liberal caucus for describing then-prime minister Paul Martin as “weak.’’ That was in her MP era.
Which is merely to suggest that theatre of the absurd is right in the mayor’s wheelhouse.
This is a good rant by Rosie DiManno of the Star against Mississaugastan Mayor Carolyn Parrish but as I posted on X it misses the mark.
Where DiManno and others go wrong is in their refusal to recognize that Parrish isn’t the problem her constituents are.
Instead we get over the top outrage at the Nelson Mandela slur and a recitation of the memorial creators prolific Islamist lunacy.
Parrish and Firas Al Najim are good lightening rods for Rosie’s Two Minute Hate but they’re the symptom not the disease. Islam is.
Parrish is loathsome but she’s not stupid and knew her Islamist support base would back her against demands to ban the Sinwar memorial and nothing says that better than yesterday’s videos of the Sinwar celebration (See below).
I can’t wait for Justin Trudeau’s statement of outrage.
If Oct 7 has taught us anything it is that support for Israel’s destruction has deep and wide support among the Muslim diaspora, our schools, universities and the political elites.
Will anything be done about Carolyn’s constituents?

To counter antisemitism, Canadians must first be able to recognize it
By now, many Canadians are aware of the epidemic of antisemitism spreading across our country, and indeed, around the world. The violent antisemitic pogrom in Amsterdam last week – echoing the Kristallnacht pogrom that preceded the Holocaust – is merely the latest terrifying iteration of the explosion of global antisemitism.
Even before the Oct. 7 atrocities unleashed this global tsunami of anti-Jewish hate, here in Canada antisemitism was at the highest levels in recent history.
In the words of the late prime minister Brian Mulroney, “In the wake of the Holocaust … firewalls were thrown up, and the bonfires of antisemitism were for a time reduced to flickering embers. But those firewalls, weakened by the passage of time and willful neglect, have been breached. Cloaked in the armour of free speech, fuelled by hate and stoked by the oxygen of the internet and social media, those fires now burn out of control.”
The elites who brazenly insist we Yobs need to learn how to recognize our antisemitism are really attempting to shift blame for the current sorry state of affairs off their shoulders onto ours.
In Canada’s dingy corridors of power the Zionists trod the same rugs as the anti-Zionists. They belong to the same political parties and the same faculties, work for the same bureaucracies. Whether in government or the academy the worst purveyors of antisemitism are members of their community not ours. A recent job posting from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) explicitly states the agency is hiring summer co-op students based on diversity.
CSIS told the Western Standard the DEI policy is in place because the intelligence agency believes it appropriately represents Canada’s population.
A key advisor in the Labour mission to make Wales “anti-racist” has claimed that racism is when “white people hold negative views” of other ethnicities.
The devolved government has pledged to make Wales anti-racist by 2030, and museums are now obliged to present the “right historic narrative” in their displays.
Taxpayer’s money will fund work which ensures the mandated narrative, and cash has gone to the “Re:Collections” project, which takes a leading role in this work by instructing Welsh museums on how to become “anti-racist organisations”.

Equity, not equality, is a constitutionally protected right in Canada, argues a new report published by a Calgary-based think tank.
“Canadians have been sold a bill of goods,” Bruce Pardy, the author of the report and a Queen’s University law professor, told National Post by email. “Many of them think that they have a right to equal treatment under the law. They think that discrimination is illegal. But nothing could be further from the truth. In Canada, discrimination is lawful as long as it is committed against the right groups — and in particular against straight white men.
There are several good reasons why medical schools would want to graduate physicians who reflect the diversity of Canada’s population. Studies show that patients tend to feel most comfortable with physicians who look or sound like them, who can communicate in their native languages, and/or who understand their cultural norms or religious practices. We know that institutional bias still exists in our medical system, and that Black, Indigenous and other racialized Canadians experience poorer health outcomes as a result. At worst, this bias manifests in extreme cases of medical neglect, such as that of Indigenous woman Joyce Echaquan, who was taunted by Quebec hospital staff as she writhed in pain, dying of pulmonary edema.

A controversial sign(opens in a new tab) has temporarily moved to a neighbour’s lawn just outside of Goderich, but the message on it, ‘White Lives Matter,’ remains the same.
“Well, it’s not a nice sign to see. It is not in the town, but it’s still in the neighboring municipality, so people are either leaving town or coming to the cottage, and that’s something that they’re seeing on Highway 21. And, you know, it shouldn’t be a reflection of our town, but unfortunately, it’s being perceived as a reflection of our town,” said Goderich Mayor Trevor Bazinet.
The sign is not hateful and is controversial only to preening self flagellants and DEI Grifters.
The real crime here is the numb acceptance and propagation of anti-white racism by the media and political class. You really don’t hate them enough.
