No Citizenship? No Problem! NYC City Council Approves Voting for Non-Citizens.

Are you a ‘lawful’ permanent resident of NYC? Have you been in the city for at least 30 days? Authorized to work? Great! That is now all it takes to vote for municipal office holders in the Big Apple, thanks to members of the New York City Council.

Yesterday, council members voted 33-14 in favor of allowing non-citizens to vote in municipal elections. Next, it’s over to Mayor de Blasio’s desk who will almost certainly sign it (and even if he exercises his veto power, which he won’t, the council has enough support to override him).

This is a terrible idea —even Democrats on the council are flabbergasted by this move.

Abrams to Maddow: Unlike Trump, I never challenged my election result

So says the woman who spent the last three years refusing to concede she actually lost the election. Stacey Abrams might be technically accurate by the barest of margins in claiming that she “did not challenge” her 2018 election result, but only in the sense that she didn’t file lawsuits alleging conspiracies. Instead, she’s lived for three years off of those claims in friendly media environs such as MSNBC.

Lower the voting age? You could make just as good an argument for raising it

Section 3 of the Charter of Rights declares that “every citizen of Canada” has the right to vote in provincial and federal elections. Section 3 of the Canada Elections Act, on the other hand, restricts the right to vote to “every person who is a Canadian citizen and is 18 years of age or older on polling day.” [Emphasis added.]

If that strikes you as a contradiction then you will be in sympathy with a lawsuit launched in Ontario Superior Court by 13 children aged 12 and up arguing that the voting age requirement should be removed from the law.

Well, the children aren’t actually the ones behind it: The suit is backed by Children First Canada, a charity whose directors give every appearance of being over 18, and will be argued by lawyers for Justice for Children and Youth and the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights, adults all. But still: It’s all about #Votes4Kids!

The Disturbing And Shocking Plan To Replace Kamala Harris

Viewing America from outside the country adds a semi-neutral perspective on news and events. I’ve been told there’s value in hearing an outside viewpoint about people more intimately tied to the emotional maelstrom of unfolding events. Conversely, I find it helpful to receive information from people in the know, which adds to the volume and depth of my research. When it comes to Kamala Harris’s floundering, I’ve been hearing shocking gossip.

The author makes some valid points, but the central premise of the article – that Hillary cannot beat Trump in 2024 – is wrong. If Biden could beat Trump, Hillary can beat Trump, by using the same tactics.

‘She Was Actually On My Plane’: Greene Dishes Some ‘Personal Dirt’ On Pelosi

Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green has dished some “personal dirt” on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Greene took to Twitter and said that Pelosi was on her plane and was “house hunting” in south Florida last week.

This, if true, would suggest that Pelosi may believe that Democrats are going to lose control of the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2022 midterm elections.

Dear Leftists: Tuesday Wasn’t About Us, It Was About You

Let’s be clear: Tuesday’s election wasn’t about us, it was about you. It was about putting a stop to your failed American Marxist policies that have been fundamentally transforming and dividing our country by race, class, and ideology. We see it, but, unsurprisingly, you don’t.

Van Jones is right: Democrats are ‘annoying,’ and it’s costing them elections

Growing up, Republicans were the schoolmarms. They wanted to codify marriage equality bans in state constitutions, take away or censor your video games and movies, and do damn near anything to become as close to John Lithgow in Footloose as possible.

But then, things changed. Abortions fell as contraception access expanded — yes, in part due to Obamacare — and with the thrice-married celebrity in the White House, Republicans chilled out. No longer were the “culture wars” defined by conservatives trying to regulate your bedrooms; instead, they became liberals and leftists trying to regulate everything from your “preferred pronouns” to the number of booster shots in your arm.

Reports of Virginia Voter Suppression Surfaces as People Turned Away From Polls Over Not Wearing Masks

According to reports from various eye-witnesses, some voting locations are turning away voters in Virginia over not wearing masks or are trying to convince others that masks must be worn at the very least.

Washington Times writer Charlie Hurt rang the alarm bell, reporting claims from some voters that they were being troubled by people for not wearing a mask as they lined up to vote. Hurt noted in a tweet that this was indeed illegal voter suppression and reminded voters that they may vote in any polling place in Virginia, even in schools, without a mask.
