Academics Rush To Defend Teacher Who Taught ‘Pornography Literacy’

Fonte left the school in June, the third high-profile staffer to depart the progressive school due to parental outrage.

But educators defended the teacher’s methods to the New York Times, saying that she did not teach anything inappropriate and that her methods were in line with both National Sex Education Standards and the World Health Organization’s International Technical Guidance on Sexuality Education, standards used in public schools in New York City.

NYPD opens hate crime investigation into vandalism of George Floyd statue at de Blasio’s orders

The police say they are investigating spray paint found on the statue of George Floyd in Brooklyn as a hate crime, according to NBC News. Police say the statue was defaced with the website of “Patriot Front” spray painted in black across its face.

Patriot Front has been labeled by groups like the Southern Poverty Law Centre as “a white nationalist hate group” due to its connections to the Charlottetown “Unite the Right” rally and other incidents.

A Crossroads

Last weekend’s shooting in Times Square carries a disturbing suggestion of the “bad old days” in New York.

Last year in New York City, murders rose by 45 percent and shooting incidents by 97 percent, numbers that have continued to rise in 2021. But New Yorkers don’t need statistics to understand that the city’s descent into chaos is accelerating. Saturday’s brazen shooting in Times Square—in which three innocent bystanders were shot, including a four-year-old girl—may well mark a crossroads for the city.

NYPD Officers Leaving In Droves, 75% Increase In Quitting Or Retirement In 2020

The members of the NYPD grew so disenchanted with their jobs in 2020 that over 5,300 uniformed officers either retired or quit, an astonishing 75% increase over the year before, amounting to 15% of the total number of officers on the force. The impetus for the officers quitting seemed to be the death of George Floyd and the unrest that followed; between May 25 and June 24, 2020, a whopping 272 officers left the force in one month.

De Blasio’s Thuggish Plan Would Have Cops Pounding on Doors of Suspected Racists

Crime is up dramatically in New York City. The New York Police Department is spread thin because of retirements, leaving the officer’s union to say that the anti-cop sentiment among officials in city hall had left the “NPYD broken, almost beyond repair.”

So naturally, what Mayor Bill de Blasio thinks the NYPD should be doing is knocking on people’s doors if they’re suspected of saying something hateful.

After Defunding The Police, NYC First Lady Wants New Yorkers To “Defend Their Neighbors” As Crime Spikes

After helping push the “defund the police” movement last summer through her husband, New York City’s first lady, Chirlane McCray, is now asking the public to physically intervene in violent altercations as assaults cases spike.

The wife of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said New Yorkers should “physically intervene” to stop the rise of violent crimes, nine months after her husband slashed police funds to be “redirected” to “youth initiatives and social services” instead.

Pathetic: NYC Mayor Shuts Down Skating Rinks To Punish Trump Organization

We learned last month that New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio was cooking up a plan to cancel all of the Trump organization’s contracts with the city. Those contracts involve the operation of a golf course, the carousel in Central Park and two skating rinks. The contracts were set to expire in April anyway, but apparently, the city’s showboating mayor couldn’t wait that long. It was just announced that de Blasio wants the Trump-owned operations shut down and moved out by February 26. (In one week.) That means that operations will end tomorrow to give them time to pack everything up. So any children showing up to go skating this week will find the rinks closed for business.
