TDSB Trustee Committee Wants Mandatory Certification Of Racist DEI Program for Ontario Educators

A Toronto District School Board (TDSB) committee has voted in favour of asking the province to put in place diversity, equity, and anti-racism certification for all Ontario teachers. The motion will now be referred to trustees at the regular board meeting on Jan. 22 for approval.

The motion was brought forward at a Jan. 16 meeting of the Program and School Services Committee by trustees Deborah Williams and Debbie King on behalf of student trustee Angelika Bell.

Ford should be all over this but he is a coward.

The Swamp Is Yours Now, MAGA. Drain It

Voters have given Trump and his allies an opportunity to disrupt Washington’s status quo. For their sake, they better not blow it.

When Donald Trump swears at his second inauguration tomorrow to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States,” it will be more than a return to the presidency for a man who left office four years ago. It will also be a rebuke to his skeptics. Consider one such skeptic, who early in 2023 called Trump “an obstacle to the achievement” of progress on “the important issues he brought to or revived in the conservative mainstream,” and declared that “the future of conservatism — even (especially) a conservatism influenced by Trump’s presidency — now depends on rejecting Trump.”

What the North Koreans took into battle against Ukraine

SUMY REGION, Ukraine — “Resistance is futile.” “Surrender.” “You’re all surrounded.”

The phrases, printed in Korean with rough Russian transliterations on a weathered piece of paper Ukrainian troops said they took off a dead North Korean soldier this month, offer a remarkable insight into how Russia appears to have prepared their new allies to take Ukrainian prisoners during their assaults on the front lines.

Ukrainian troops are using such documents and other items they have recovered from the battlefield to better understand the thousands of North Korean troops that have been assaulting their positions in recent weeks, in the latest global escalation in the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Is Global South Going South?

Always anxious to portray the Islamic Republic of Iran in a world leadership position, the official media in Tehran have been trumpeting a three-day visit by President Masoud Pezeshkian to Dushanbe and Moscow as a “significant strengthening of the global south.”

You might wonder what the “global south” is all about.

This is a cliché invented in the 1970s to distinguish “Third World” countries from the two blocs of East and West, without abandoning its sister cliché of “non-aligned world.”

How Pakistan’s rape culture led to the UK grooming gangs

Pakistani-origin men are up to four times more likely to be reported to the police for child sex grooming offences than the general population in England and Wales, the first national police scheme data appeared to suggest last week.

The perpetrators of three of the most gruesome child abuse scandals in modern British history, in Rochdale, Rotherham, and Telford, were overwhelmingly of Pakistani origin. While sexual abuse takes place across demographics, not enough attention has been paid to the way these grooming gangs have been inspired by the anti-women customs of Pakistan.

Even Hollywood is turning on LA Mayor Karen Bass

After her election as mayor of Los Angeles in 2022, Karen Bass was a heroine of California’s Left. A former backer of Fidel Castro, she decisively defeated billionaire businessman Rick Caruso, who spent more than $100 million to try and defeat her. With a struggling economy, rising crime, and a high cost of living, Bass’s election seemed to confirm LA’s final transition from a place of political diversity to a single-party city dominated by a well-organised Left and funders from the public unions.

Internet divided as ‘egg’ UFO retrieval video airs on TV

The internet has been left divided over an ‘egg-shaped craft’ recorded during a UAP retrieval operation after the video was aired on TV for the first time.

NewsNation aired the footage that ‘clearly showed’ the object dangling in a sling from a helicopter on Saturday night.

The alleged craft was about 20ft long and resembled the UAP encountered by the Navy off the east coast of the US in 2015, suggesting a connection between these unidentified objects, NewsNation reported.

Divided? It was almost universally panned. A shame that Coulter, Elizondo and Nolan plugged this nonsense as momentous. I am embarrassed to have watched it.

Below is the full program.

How MAGA Is Taking Back the Culture

Across many facets of society—in sports, entertainment, the classroom and the workplace—there are signs that MAGA isn’t just retaking the White House. It is gaining a firmer foothold in the broader culture.

Instead of taking a knee to call for social justice, NFL players are doing the “Trump dance” in the end zone at football games. Mainstream entertainers, among them the country singer Carrie Underwood and the rapper Snoop Dogg, agreed to perform at events celebrating Donald Trump’s inauguration, something music stars largely shunned eight years ago.

At Donald Trump’s inauguration rally, here’s what his supporters think about annexing Canada: ‘It would be fantastic’

WASHINGTON, D.C.—A new sphere of American hegemony, with Canada as the 51st state. That sounds fantastic to the man in the purple-hemmed toga and the gold laurel wreath that’s perched around his “Make America Great Again” ballcap.

He’s going for irony, donning the garb of a Caesar for laughs when so many have warned that Donald Trump could imperil democracy in the American republic. Like a centurion, he holds a long staff with a banner that portrays a silhouette of Trump after a would-be assassin’s bullet grazed his ear last summer. A flag with the stars and stripes streams down Trump’s face, instead of blood.

“I think it would be fantastic… for global, political and economic power,” says the man, 27, whose name is Logan Howard.
