‘Where Do We Draw the Line’: Drag Queen Story Time Events for Children Draw Flak From Opponents

The resistance to Drag Queen Story Time came to a Vancouver suburb on Jan. 14, when about two dozen protesters showed up to rally against an event at the Coquitlam Public Library.

The protesters were met by approximately 200 counter-protesters outside the library, as local drag queen Conni Smudge, the scheduled reader, arrived for the event, garnering cheers and fanfare. Smudge has created a persona in Vancouver, including a YouTube video series titled Storytime with Conni Smudge. One of the children’s books Smudge reads is called “The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish.”

Adult male cross-dressers prancing about like Justin Trudeau at a Pride parade in front of children is not and never will be “normal.” It is grooming.

Is Toronto tops when it comes to global visitors?

Well, it ranked somewhere near the middle on a list of 85 of the world’s most overrated cities by independent market analyst King Casino Bonus in the U.K.

No question Toronto is a cold city and that will only get worse as ghettoization continues.

You can’t escape the feeling the city is on the threshold of a US style urban decline.

City infrastructure is crumbling and everything has that shopworn look. 

The TTC now operates as a homeless shelter.

The question is not can I hold on but why should I?

Boring and pretentious? Yup.

Expensive? You bet.

But think of the restaurants.

Has a Quran-burning protest ended Sweden’s Nato dream?

A crowd gathered outside Turkey’s embassy in Stockholm on Saturday afternoon to watch far-right politician Rasmus Paludan burn the Quran. Paludan, who leads the anti-Islam ‘Hard Line’ Danish party, was watched by dozens of photographers, police officers and bemused passers-by. Paludan is no stranger to controversy: he has previously been convicted under racism and defamation law. This latest stunt was called to show his party’s opposition to immigration and, he says, to stand up for free speech. Now, though, the stunt has become a diplomatic crisis for Sweden – and there are fears that its bid to join Nato could go up in smoke.

U.S. closer to approving ‘significant number’ of Abrams tanks to Ukraine

The Biden administration is leaning toward sending “a significant number” of M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, two U.S. officials said, and an announcement could come as early as this week.

The development comes amid a public standoff with German officials, who are under pressure to send their own Leopard tanks and allow other European countries that operate the German-made vehicles to do so as well.

Children, like marriage, are an endangered species

FOR the first time since records began in 1845, most children are now born outside marriage, figures from the Office for National Statistics show. In England and Wales, 51.3 per cent of 624,828 live births in 2021 were to women not married or in a civil partnership, while 48.7 per cent of babies were born in wedlock. 

At the beginning of the 20th century, 96 per cent of births were within marriage, but this fell to 80 per cent in 1985, 70 per cent in 1991 and 60 per cent in 2001.

A series of extremist left wing embarrassments in recent years, including a call for an outright ban on tobacco use in the UK, where the magazine is published, a humiliating retraction of an attack on the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat Covid followed by an explanation of what it learned from the debacle, and a cover that referred to women as “bodies with vaginas” followed by an apology have not taught it a lesson that sticks.

We learnt, for instance, that inmates are expected to make their beds “military style” and that the meat-free meal options usually feature either beans or tofu, although the latter is so bereft of seasoning that it is almost unpalatable. Not quite The Shawshank Redemption, then, but not much fun for a woman who has probably never before been tasked with making her own bed.

Pandemic blamed for surge in killing sprees by American teenagers

The number of homicides committed by American teenagers has risen by a third since the start of the pandemic, official figures show.
Juvenile crime had been falling across the US for several decades, but federal data from 2020 show that killings committed by juveniles rose by 30 per cent compared with the previous 12 months. At the same time the number of homicides involving multiple teenagers was up by two thirds in the same period.

Where would he rather be, a journalist asked him: Davos or Westminster? ‘Davos’, Starmer said, without missing a beat. Westminster’s too ‘constrained’, he moaned. It’s ‘just a tribal, shouting place’. Davos, on the other hand, the luxury Alpine resort where the world’s tycoons gather every year to quaff booze and put the world to rights, is a place where you can ‘engage with people’; people ‘you can see [yourself] working with in the future’. Ouch. If I were a British MP, I’d be feeling pretty bruised right now. Starmer wants nothing to do with you noisy tribalists – it’s the world’s woke rich he wants to mingle with.

They glue themselves to streets, block traffic, occupy airfields, and sully precious works of art: climate activists have caused havoc in many major European capitals over the past few months. They call themselves ‘The Last Generation’ and defend the sticky character of their protests as a strategy for bringing attention to the ‘climate catastrophe.’ They demand drastic actions against ‘climate change,’ including a cessation of oil drilling operations in the North Sea, an end to all fossil energy consumption, and new ways to limit food waste.

However, what’s taken place over the last few months, indeed, what looks like a passionately sincere—albeit loudmouthed—generational trend is actually a well-funded plan executed by a well-organised association. The ‘Last Generation’ is no exception. Recruiters and NGOs for climate activism advertise lucrative ‘jobs’ as protestors, offering €520-1,300—plus benefits. The jobs are “part-time” or “full-time,” as reported by Welt am Sonntag.

Freeland silent on tanks for Ukraine, but says victory would boost world economy

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland on Tuesday underscored the importance of helping Ukraine win its fight against Russia’s invasion this year, a victory she said would be a “big boost” for Canada and the global economy.

Yet Freeland would not say if Canada would supply Leopard 2 tanks in order to help Ukraine achieve that victory, becoming the latest cabinet official to remain mum on the issue.

Typically a war’s end triggers recession. I don’t see Canada benefitting much from a Ukraine Marshall Plan, we are among those who have donated least.

Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland says her 2023 budget will prioritize spending on health care and the green energy transition, while ensuring the government’s overall fiscal plan is sustainable during what is expected to be a challenging year.

Speaking with reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet retreat in Hamilton, Ms. Freeland acknowledged a slowing economy could leave the federal government with less tax revenue to spend.

“I think that’s the approach that governments should always take to putting together a budget: If there’s less fiscal room, you can do less,” she said. “There is still a lot of uncertainty in the world economy. And that means that we do need to continue to take a fiscally prudent approach.”

First ever publicly revealed UFO footage taken by US spy plane in a conflict zone – ” Metallic Orb” over Iraqi city of Mosul in 2016

DailyMail.com obtained an exclusive image of a metallic-looking orb flying over an Iraqi city, caught on video by a US spy plane.

The image, captured in April 2016 by an intelligence-reconnaissance plane, was included in a classified briefing video on UFOs shown to multiple US government agencies.

… It was obtained by journalists Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp, who have released the image on their new UFO podcast, ‘Weaponized‘.

The briefing describes and shows the UFO as moving from south to north, adding that it does not appear to descend.

In a four-second video titled ‘Mosul Orb’ included in the briefing, the UFO appears for one second as it flies alongside the MC-12 spy plane.

I’d like official authentication, leaks always leave room for doubt, but it is interesting.
