Britain was founded on racism, say almost half of young people in poll

Almost half of young people believe Britain was founded on racism and continues to be “structurally racist” today, research has found.

The revelation has prompted concerns that children are being taught contested ideas as fact in the classroom, with six in 10 school leavers saying they had been taught concepts associated with “critical race theory”.

The research was carried out by Eric Kaufmann, an academic at Birkbeck, University of London, for the Policy Exchange think-tank.

Conrad Black: Klaus Schwab’s obsession with pushing global governance

Last week at the G20 meeting in Indonesia, as U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping wasted their time talking about global warming, a subject the People’s Republic does not take seriously, instead of the origins of COVID or the status of Taiwan, to my utter astonishment, the face and voice of the “Great Reset” appeared. This is the jargon for the readjustment in the world towards so-called stakeholder capitalism that is the ambition of the conveners of the World Economic Forum (WEF). The forum began in 1971 as a conference where a few political leaders and celebrities from different industries and activities gathered and the occasion was paid for by admission fees happily tendered by a selection of prosperous people from different countries who wished to rub shoulders with the prominent featured guests. It was a winning commercial formula and it grew and grew. It never moved to a more commodious and stylish place than the dreary and remote Swiss town of Davos.

I’ve seen what’s on Hunter Biden’s laptop. Why hasn’t the rest of America?

I was expecting to hear more about Hunter Biden’s laptop after the midterm elections. But I wasn’t expecting it quite this fast. On Thursday, a day after the Republican Party scraped a narrow majority in the House of Representatives, the Republican congressman James Comer said he would lead an investigation into the overseas business activities of President Biden’s son. But he made clear the real target of his inquiry.

Frozen Bank Accounts, Again: The Arrival of a New Tyranny

Not long ago, I wrote a piece highlighting the arrival of a new form of political control, namely governments’ authorization of banks—without due process—to freeze the bank accounts of members of their citizenry. I noted that this was a form of coercion that had existed in China for some years now, and had recently been adopted by Russia, but I emphasised that it had also been deployed by the Canadian government against a minority of its population—those who participated in the ‘truckers’ protests’—with zero uproar from Canada’s allied nations. I feared that UK parliamentarians had been silent over this tyrannical quashing of the late Queen’s subjects across the Atlantic because, as I wrote then, they were likely “looking over at this innovative model of political control and thinking, ‘Golly, what a clever idea!’”

Rupa Subramanya: Canada’s illiberal backsliding

Is Canada becoming an illiberal democracy?

That description is typically associated with developing countries such as India, or recent democracies such as Hungary, where right-of-centre governments are accused by western observers of democratic backsliding and an illiberal turn. It’s ironic, then, that, by some measures, Canada, which we once assumed to be a bastion of liberal democracy, is becoming increasingly illiberal.

The Stasi spies who traded sex for secrets

In a rented apartment at a resort in the Swiss Alps, a gravely ill man lifts his gaze and looks his lover in the eyes. At first he seems unsure how to begin. During the war, he tells her, he was loosely involved in a plot to assassinate Hitler. Then, after the collapse of the Third Reich, he became an agent for the Red Army. But now he is so unwell that he must leave for the Soviet Union, where a specialist medical facility will give him the treatment he needs to survive. And she, a secretary in the office of the West German chancellor, is in deep trouble. What will her employers do when they find out he’s vanished and realise she has been sleeping with the enemy these past two years? No one will believe she didn’t know.

What If It’s True?

The U.S. government currently appears to be engaged in a slow-paced disclosure program. It is time for the rest of us to entertain the possibility that UFOs are extraterrestrial.

This summer marked the 75th anniversary of an event in the U.S. state of New Mexico. An unknown craft crashed in the prairie outside the town of Corona. The military from the nearby city of Roswell got involved and allegedly transported the debris to the air force base there.

Many have speculated about the true nature of what became known as the Roswell incident. The U.S. government said at the time that it was a weather balloon, later changing the story to a special balloon designed to spy on Soviet nuclear activities.

No conclusive evidence has ever been presented to back up either story, leaving the field open to speculation and private researchers such as the late Stanton Friedman. A nuclear physicist with a long career in classified military projects, Friedman spent the last few decades of his life investigating unidentified flying objects and alleged extraterrestrial visits to Earth.

As Joe Biden turns 80, the Democrats have a succession problem

Some think the president is too old to run for re-election, but his party lacks quality rivals to take his place

Joe Biden turns 80 today and he is said to be in excellent spirits. Aboard Air Force One this week, flying to and from various global summits, the Commander-in-Chief reportedly had a “spring in his step” thanks to last week’s midterm election results.

His party may just have lost the House of Representatives, yet the Democrats held the Senate. The Republican “red wave” did not come crashing in. The White House’s much-mocked electoral strategy – brushing off concerns about the economy and focusing on the twin threats of Trumpism and the abortion-stopping “far-Right” – appears to have been vindicated. Team Biden is now congratulating itself in particular on the timing of its “student debt forgiveness” programme – which is thought to have brought out large numbers of young voters.

CUPE, Ontario government reach deal; strike called off

A school strike has been averted in Ontario as education workers and the government reached a tentative agreement late Sunday afternoon.

The agreement comes after a weekend of intensive negotiations between the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and the province.

Few details have been released about what is included in the tentative agreement; however CUPE has previously said the government had come to the table with a 3.59 per cent wage increase for workers.

The saga of an old French town – to Islamize or not?

Callac as a microcosm of an immense question of civilization now at stake in Europe.

A small town nestled among cow pastures. The café run by a social club, abandoned buildings, only elderly around. So when city council members heard about a program to “rejuvenate” the city, it seemed like a winning lottery ticket.

We are in Brittany, France, but we could be in Italy.

Except that what city leaders saw as an opportunity for rejuvenation, for others was evidence of a “Great Replacement” of French natives. The theory of the “Great Replacement” came to Renaud Camus during a visit to one of these small country towns, Vémars, in the Val d’Oise, at the home of François Mauriac. Camus saw the suburbs with veiled women, the aesthetic change of the province.

Thanks, but no thanks, Elon! Trump says he is ‘staying’ on Truth Social despite Chief Twit restoring his Twitter account

Despite his reinstatement to short form social posting platform Twitter, former President Donald Trump – the owner of Truth Social – said he doesn’t ‘see any reason’ to rejoin the platform.

Several days ago, new Twitter owner Elon Musk polled the site’s users on Trump’s reinstatement – the Yes votes won out by close to four percent after more than 15 million people voted.

Musk tweeted: ‘The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated.’
