Michigan Town Invites Islamist Antisemite to ‘Diversity Dinner’

A city in Michigan has invited an Islamist who has declared homosexuals to be cursed and Jews to have “incurred the wrath of Allah” to speak at a “diversity dinner” later this week. The Diversity Distinction Awards dinner, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 14, is organized by Sterling Heights’s Ethnic Community Committee. Dawud Walid, the executive director of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), will give the keynote speech.

Sympathy for the Devil

Headline in an Australian paper, which cares about this issue for some reason: “White House Monkeypox Response Deputy Dubbed ‘Gay Satanist’ by Conservatives.” Now why would those meanies do that? Because he has a pentagram tattoo, and that symbol is — really — a trademark of the Church of Satan.

Well, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and offers dead crows to the Father of Lies at midnight like a duck, then one might infer something. What’s more, the Monkeypox Responder was profiled in 2014 by the New York Post as a co-owner of a dungeon-themed workout place. The article quotes patrons and staff, and, lest you think they’re all acolytes of evil, they are boring conformists trotting out rote pseudo-spiritual drivel.

The For-Profit D.C. Firm Staging America’s ‘Grassroots’ Movements

The great American tradition of spontaneous local protest is funded and staffed to a large degree by a ‘dark money’ network controlled by Arabella Advisors

Behind the closed doors of an unassuming philanthropic consultancy in Washington, D.C., is one of the most powerful lobbying forces in the United States. The Atlantic has called it “the massive progressive dark-money group you’ve never heard of” and “the indisputable heavyweight of Democratic dark money.” The Washington Post believes its potent lobbying arm is reason enough for Congress to enact forced donor disclosure laws, while Politico labelled it a “dark-money behemoth.” “The system of political financing, which often obscures the identities of donors, is known as dark money,” wrote The New York Times, “and Arabella’s network is a leading vehicle for it on the left.”

JK Rowling condemns masked pro trans mob after violent clashes in Brighton at ‘Let Women Speak’ event

JK Rowling has slammed pro-trans protesters for ‘throwing smoke bombs’ and ‘howling abuse at lesbians’ after police arrested two people over clashes at a ‘Let Women Speak’ event.

Kellie-Jay Keen, who founded women’s rights group Standing For Women, was due to give a talk in Brighton today as part of her countrywide speaking tour.

Ms Keen, also known as Posie Parker, has frequently attracted the ire of pro-trans activists over her views on gender rights.

It’s Too Late to Prevent an Iranian Nuke

“Iran will never get a nuclear weapon on my watch,” says Joe Biden often and unconvincingly. He said it to Israeli prime ministers Bennett in 2021 and Lapid in 2022. He has even threatened to use military force “as a last resort.” A cynic would suggest that Biden’s attempt to forge another Obama-like “nuclear deal” is designed to ensure that Iran gets a nuclear weapon on the next president’s watch. A pessimist believes it’s too late.

Whistleblower claims may not free Elon Musk from his Twitter hook

As the Twitter whistleblower Peiter Zatko was telling US lawmakers of “egregious” security failings at the company last Tuesday, shareholders in the social media platform overwhelmingly voted to hand those problems over to someone else: Elon Musk.

It is unlikely that the Tesla CEO, who owns more than 9% of Twitter and agreed to buy the company in April, was among the 99% of voting shareholders who backed that $44bn (£38.5bn) deal, given he is now determined to abandon it. A Delaware judge will decide at a trial beginning on 17 October whether Musk gets to walk away, or be forced to acquire the business on the terms that he had agreed upon.

Europe Is Losing the Energy War

Wars are fought on many fronts. So far, Russian president Vladimir Putin is winning the energy war. High energy prices, triggered by supply disruptions, have neutered Western sanctions. Russia’s current account balance stands at record highs. Meantime, the same forces are de-industrializing Europe right before our eyes. Industry after industry is throttling back, shutting down, or considering doing so if the energy chaos continues. Britain is staring at the potential shutdown of 60 percent of its manufacturers. Germany and most of Europe are on the same track.

Discussions of how to rebuild Ukraine when the ground war eventually ends are prevalent, but the question of the decade will be how to rebuild Europe’s industrial infrastructure. Industrial facilities and supply chains that use and produce energy can’t easily be restarted once stopped. That’s one lesson, at least, that policymakers should have taken from the Covid lockdowns.

#NAFO: Ukraine’s info warriors battling Russian trolls

NAFO – The North Atlantic Fella Organization

A single tweet in May launched an online movement that has become the kryptonite of the pro-Russian trolls that have long ruled corners of the internet.

“For many years, Russia has been waging a serious information war globally,” said Ivana Stradner, a NAFO member, advisor to the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, and writer for the Kyiv Post newspaper.

At the start of the Ukraine war in February, the West had done little to counter Russia’s fake news with “offensive information operations,” she added.

ROBERTSON: Poilievre’s victory watershed moment for Conservatives

This moment feels like a turning point for the Conservative Party of Canada, a true instance of hope and opportunity and the chance to break through in many places across the country where people regretfully vote Liberal.

“Decency and duty” were how Pierre Poilievre summarized the values embodied by the late Queen Elizabeth II in his victory speech, and how he promised the Conservative Party would serve Canadians. People have become so aware of the political tricks and fiscal irresponsibility of this government that serving in opposition with dignity, like our late Queen did, will be enough for the Conservatives to win Canada back.

Howard Levitt: Public sector jobs boom is a shell game that plays havoc with our economic future

One day late last year, Justin Trudeau took to twitter to tout his government’s job creation record.

“Thanks to your hard work and the hard work of Canadians across the country, Canada’s unemployment rate is the lowest it’s been since the start of the pandemic. In fact, more than 154,000 jobs were created last month — and … in the COVID-19 Era, more than 1 million jobs have been recovered,” he wrote in a tweet.

Justin has just added to his reliably Liberal vote bloc at our expense.

Canadian MPs across the spectrum see threats to democracy: ‘There’s no common middle ground’

OTTAWA — In a troubled world, Canadian democracy endures. But some sitting members of Parliament are worried — for various reasons — that it is getting weaker.

Ryan Turnbull is one of them. The Liberal MP for Whitby was first elected in 2019, and sees the problem through the lens of his education in philosophy: the ideal of democracy allows for public debate on a common ground of fact and reality, but Turnbull believes persistent misinformation and its self-serving weaponization by some politicians is threatening this shared basis for a functioning public discourse.

Mostly this is LPC, NDP and Elizabeth May griping about the scary convoy and such. The Star’s is gonna need a bigger fainting couch.

Martha’s Vineyard and the fraud of the rich white liberal

Only masks? I’m surprised they’re not in full Hazmat gear.

Where’s their compassion? Where’s their inclusion?

“We have talked to a number of people who’ve asked, ‘Where am I?’ And then I was trying to explain where Martha’s Vineyard is,” said befuddled Edgartown, Massachusetts, police chief Bruce McNamee of the 50 illegal immigrants who landed on two charter flights at the island’s only airport on Wednesday.

According to local reports, the airport officials believed the planes were delivering corporate guys on a late-season golf retreat, before suffering the crushing disappointment that the arriving passengers were, in fact, poor people of color.

What the Danchenko ‘Bombshell’ Tells Us About the Media

There are no real journalists in America’s major newsrooms.

Late Tuesday, the Washington Free Beacon broke the explosive story that Igor Danchenko, the Russian analyst who lied to the FBI about his role in creating the discredited Steele dossier, stayed on the FBI payroll as a confidential informant until just before the 2020 election.
