Canadian university advertises for tenure track research chair in its Faculty of Environment – but only women or people who identify as transgender, non-binary or two-spirit are allowed to apply

The University of Waterloo has an opening for a tenure track assistant professor specializing in science and engineering – but white men need not apply.

According to a listing from the Canadian university last month, the position is available only to women, or ‘qualified individuals who self-identify as women, transgender, non-binary, or two-spirit’ – a gender-variant derived from Native American culture.

Men, meanwhile, will not be considered, the school says – especially if they are white.

It’s always fun when progressive jerks try to leverage their bizarre perceptions of our beliefs to get us to do what they want. It can be some smug Twitter blue check informing us that “Actually Jesus was a socialist who would want us to cancel student debt for spoiled rich kids who got degrees in Transgender Visual Arts” or, more recently, some newly-minted Milton Friedman acolyte goofsplaining that we must submit to the skeevy whims of California corporations and accept the imposition of grooming mandates because, after all, they are private businesses. And sometimes it works, even on alleged conservatives – David French has made whatever passes for his C-list career out of striving to twist conservatism to conform to his lib masters’ version of it.

But this cheesy ploy is not working anymore, at least not on the rest of us.

Durham Issues Trial Subpoenas to Clinton Campaign and DNC

Special counsel John Durham issued trial subpoenas for members of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign and the Democratic National Committee as he pushed his theory of a “joint venture” in the case against Democratic cybersecurity lawyer Michael Sussmann, who represented the Clinton campaign, and Rodney Joffe.

Clinton’s campaign, the DNC, the opposition research firm Fusion GPS, and the Perkins Coie law firm are fighting Durham’s efforts to compel the submission of withheld documents, arguing their claims of attorney-client privilege should keep the records concealed. However, Durham is continuing his legal pressure as he insists those groups played a coordinated role in pushing false Trump-Russia collusion claims.

New translations of Osama bin Laden’s personal documents show that the intention behind 9/11 was not only to kill Americans, but to incite U.S. protests, like those seen during the Vietnam War.

These documents, first recovered in the 2011 raid on bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, have been declassified since 2017, but were unorganized and mostly untranslated, until now. The letters offer one of the closest looks yet into the mind of America’s most infamous terrorist.

… Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino, who is helping to oversee Ottawa’s national cybersecurity strategy, said that one of his goals is to scale up the cybersecurity workforce.

Part of that effort, he said, could involve looking abroad.

“I think we should be creating dedicated pathways to attract talent in cybersecurity,” said Mendicino.

A Mostly Wind- and Solar-Powered U.S. Economy Is a Dangerous Fantasy

With or without Congressional support, President Joe Biden has determined to move the U.S. as quickly as possible toward an economy predominantly powered by wind- and solar-sourced electricity. In his earliest days in office, Biden issued multiple Executive Orders directing the federal bureaucracy to bend all efforts to achieve this goal. One of those early Executive Orders, dated January 27, 2021 and titled “Tackling the Climate Crisis At Home and Abroad,” stated:

“It is the policy of my Administration to organize and deploy the full capacity of its agencies to combat the climate crisis to implement a Government-wide approach that reduces climate pollution in every sector of the economy…”

When burned to generate energy, fossil fuels — coal, oil and natural gas — all emit carbon dioxide, otherwise known in Biden-speak as “climate pollution.” Thus, under Biden’s directive, they are all to be suppressed. The alternative of expanding nuclear power has meanwhile equally been made impractical by regulatory obstruction…

More asylum-shoppers crossing into Canada from war torn America after ban lifted, stats show

Snowy northern winters tend to see a drop in asylum-seekers crossing from the United States into Canada at Roxham Road, Quebec. Not this past winter.

In December the number of asylum-seekers entering Canada outside formal land border crossings reached its highest point since August 2017, government statistics show.

The growing caseload is lengthening wait times for eligibility hearings, leaving claimants waiting months on social assistance before getting work permits, one attorney said.

In ‘grey zone’ of national security, Islamist terrorist suspects face no charges but can’t leave Canada

To Canadian national security officials, Samy Nefkha-Bahri is a supporter of “armed jihad abroad,” who had “dubious associations” and wanted to take part in “combat in Syria.”

Classified government reports obtained by Global News allege he led a group that was preparing to travel “for the purpose of participating in the activities of a terrorist group.”

But instead of arresting and charging the Montreal resident, federal officials grounded him: they denied him a passport “to prevent the commission of a terrorism offence.”
