Ten European Union (EU) member-states have been exposed for selling hundreds of millions of euros worth of military kit to Russia between 2015 and 2020, despite sanctions.
EU member-states including France, Germany, and Italy potentially broke a European embargo on selling arms to Russia, issuing more than 1,000 arms licenses after the ban was imposed on August 1st 2014.

Unvaccinated Canadians are about 12 times more likely than those who received three doses to believe Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine was justified, according to a new survey by national polling firm EKOS.
The poll found 26 per cent of those who identified as unvaccinated agreed the Russian invasion is justified, with another 35 per cent not offering an opinion. This compared to only two per cent of surveyed Canadians who said they had three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and who supported the attack, and four per cent who offered no view.
… The study concludes the results point “to the highly corrosive influences of disinformation.”
… Unvaccinated Canadians are also more likely to have a profound distrust of government, science and professional health experts, Graves said, and are more likely to support the protest convoy that occupied Ottawa for nearly a month.
“So the pattern was really clear that disinformation was not just a curious feature. It was, I think, a causal ingredient of vaccine resistance.”
I conducted my own poll of me and my cat and found journalists were inclined to lie about the Convoy.

Ontario makes big promises with critical minerals plans but First Nations advocates remain concerned
Lawyers and advocates for First Nations in northern Ontario say they’re concerned the Ford government wants to press ahead with mining development in the Ring of Fire without properly involving First Nations or addressing their environmental concerns.
The government released its new critical minerals strategy Thursday at the Lac Des Iles mine, about 125 kilometres north of Thunder Bay, Ont., aimed at positioning Ontario as a provider of raw materials for items such as smart phones and electric vehicle batteries.
“Global businesses are searching for the materials, expertise and human power needed to build technologies of the future. And I’m here to say once again, look no further,” Premier Doug Ford told reporters at the election-style announcement.
One reason China was allowed a near monopoly in rare earths is that it is a messy business. But even if mined by virgin unicorns they’d still kill Ontario’s plans anyway.
Canada does not even make the top 10 nations for rare earth production and protectionist policy in the US must also be contended with; “Rare earths mining in the US now happens only at California’s Mountain Pass mine. In February 2021, President Joe Biden signed an executive order aimed at reviewing shortcomings in America’s domestic supply chains for rare earths, medical devices, computer chips and other critical resources. The next month, the US Department of Energy announced a US$30 million initiative to research and secure domestic supply chains for rare earths and battery metals such as cobalt and lithium.”
After a proposed project has undergone the mandatory 37 environmental assessments etc it’s a good bet Ontario will be regarded as an economic dead end.

Ontario confirms 16 more COVID-19 deaths; ICU occupancy continues to drop
Ontario confirmed 16 more COVID-19 deaths and 185 patients in intensive care on Saturday, as the province prepares to lift mask mandates in most indoor settings on Monday.
The Ministry of Health says 13 of the deaths occurred in the past month and three of the deaths happened more than one month ago.
Tam says the federal government is ‘examining’ all vaccine mandates
Canada’s chief public health officer said Friday the federal government is actively reviewing all of its vaccine mandates with an eye to ending rules that force some people to get their COVID-19 shots.
Speaking at a press conference with reporters, Dr. Theresa Tam said the country’s public health officials are at a “very important juncture” and COVID-19 policies may soon shift from “an emphasis on requirements to recommendations.”
The attorney for Lunden Alexis Roberts – the mother of one of Hunter Biden’s five children – revealed he turned over to federal investigators a ‘significant amount’ of Hunter’s financial records and said he would be ‘surprised’ if he was not indicted.

Russia says it used its newest Kinzhal hypersonic missiles for the first time in Ukraine to destroy a weapons storage site in the country’s west.
Russia’s Interfax news agency said it was the first time Russia had deployed the hypersonic Kinzhal system since it sent its troops into Ukraine on February 24.
“The Kinzhal aviation missile system with hypersonic aeroballistic missiles destroyed a large underground warehouse containing missiles and aviation ammunition in the village of Deliatyn in the Ivano-Frankivsk region,” defence ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Saturday.
